I'm only giving 5 stars because of Dr. Ernesto Orendain also known as Dr.O. He has been the only great doctor here since I started. He really helped relieve me of my back and hip pain. Being an athlete at a young age has caused random lower back, knee and hip issues. Since I started coming to Dr. O almost all that pain has been relieved. I come to him once at week and sometimes more but it's disappointing that his days have been cut now to only Mondays. I'm hoping he will get more days back at the Davis location otherwise I may be ending my membership. If you want someone who really takes pride in their work and listens to you, Dr. O is the guy. The last few doctors that have been here barely adjust you and don't listen. read more

The Joint in my current town of residence made a member out of me, so when visiting a friend in Davis I started talking about how great it was. I insisted on paying for her very first treatment. As I was pretty confident that it would provide some form of relief for her back and neck. She didn't want to do it alone so I gladly offered to get adjusted as well. I was disappointed to find that the Davis location costs more than other locations. At least for the drop-in session. The gal didn't believe me and even had to look it up to confirm. The Chiropractor was a younger Asian fellow, very pleasant and gentle. Very gentle. Ok, too gentle. Which was good in that he didn't injure my friend but nor did he provide any sort of relief for her either. She was super disenchanted by the whole thing and honestly? I usually go to a different "the joint" because I love the service in west Sacramento. I live in Davis so I thought maybe I could save some time and gas, I was wrong. Not sure if maybe I just happened to come on a bad day or this is usual service but I didn't have the best experience. I walked in and no one greeted me, I just watched the receptionist quickly pull up her mask as she saw someone walking in. I stood at the front and had to greet the receptionist, I just think it's nice to be greeted especially in places I've never visited. I scanned my card and got checked in and was sent to the back. As I waited the main chiropractor (didn't even introduce his name to me) was handling another patient. He asked how she was doing, very friendly, adjusted her and told her he would see her soon in a few days. When it was my turn he asked what was wrong. I tried to explain to him I usually go to west Sacramento for care and he replied "yes i saw that on your file", I proceeded to explain my upper back and neck give me pain. His response again "so what's wrong today, what's happening today". I thought me saying my upper back and neck hurt was explaining but he was unsatisfied with the answer. I replied with my neck and back being tense and that's when he finally said "okay so that's why we are here". Mind you the tone was just rude and came off very condescending. He proceeded to try to help me but the adjustment made no difference and I just waited almost half an hour for very poor care. He was gone after some adjustments and sent me off. Weird interaction after just seeing him having a pleasant conversation with the person before me. Not sure if my identity played a role, being a person of color maybe my experience was different in that way but just interesting seeing white clients get such nice interactions and for me to be talked to in a negative way. Maybe his care is great but that's just my experience, will be taking my services back to west Sacramento. read more

I'm a member of the Joint, and the service at this location is great. The receptionists are always friendly, I love Dr. Ernesto, because he's super attentitive and thorough. This review is specifically for Dr. Kim, who recently took over as manager. I found Dr. Kim to be excellent, and super efficient in his practice. He uses the right amount of pressure and strength, and is pretty thorough. Sometimes, I don't find all chiropractors at The Joint very thorough or attentive, but Dr. Kim passes the test! read more

I have been going this year 2024 since I had pain in my neck and it's very convenient to go whenever I can, no appointment needed. When I randomly decide to go, there's no wait time. I'm in and out. Then I became pregnant and I'm still going. They don't do anything that makes me feel uncomfortable while pregnant. I usually go because of my schedule, when Dr. Simon is there, and she is polite, listens to you, and takes care of you. I recommend going even when pregnant. I had chiropractor care as well, before with my other previous pregnancy with my work insurance. I lost the insurance; found this, no insurance needed! In my previous experience, chiropractor care was the best thing that happened to me. There was less back pain(right now, I'm 31 weeks and I feel that I don't have back pain), it also helped me with a faster delivery of baby, and post partum recovery. I'm so glad I found this because with the insurance I have now, they don't cover chiropractor visits. I can go whenever I can and it's not expensive. One more thing, sometimes I have to take my children with me. The office and chiropractors are all kid friendly. They have a new member "deal" which requires a two month commitment. They offered it at my initial visit so I took the offer. Little did I know that the rest of the way through the chiropractor was going to do the same 5 cracks every time I visit. Seemed like that was all he learned in school. At this point, I could probably do those same 5 adjustments on anyone because I memorized them all. He spent like 2-3 minutes tops on me every visit. It's an absolute scam. read more

Get an adjustment. I've been going to The Joint in Sacramento and Vacaville for a few years and am very excited for the opening of this new branch in Davis. Dr. Doan is great! She is very knowledgable, patient, and enthusiastic about her craft. She takes her time to diagnose what's bothering you, and plans out the best chiropractic adjustments to fit your needs. I came in with neck and upper back pain from sitting at a desk all day, and left feeling great. Additionally, the doctors and staff are very conscious about coronavirus precautions. Everyone is wearing masks and wiping down work surfaces. The staff is well-informed, helpful, and very friendly. If you are in the Davis area and are considering getting chiropractic care, this is a perfect opportunity to give it a try. I've been coming here for the past couple of months and I don't have anything bad to say. The location is great - there is never a problem finding parking. Staff is always welcoming, patient and helpful. Dr. Defrese is the main person here doing the adjustments and I've never had any weird encounter with him. He explains things thoroughly and really does take his time with his patients which is nice. I also love coming here on Fridays when Dr. Ernesto is here, he's quick and gets the job done right. I've only had one instance where my adjustment made me feel worse after but it was with another Dr that isn't normally at this location and was just subbing in for the day. I was able to see the usual Dr two days later, got adjusted, and felt much better. I would recommend this location especially if you're on the fence and thinking about getting evaluated and adjusted, do the first time $29 initial visit. They'll spend 30 minutes with you asking questions, a body evaluation, and then a first time adjustment. Grab a lollipop on your way out. read more

The wait is minimal, the first appointment is painless and Thorough! The pricing and packages they have are affordable for all people. I used to love the Davis clinic when Dr. Doan worked there. She took over the Vacaville clinic, and Dr. Defrese came to the Davis clinic. I had 2 sessions with Dr. Defrese. I will not go back to The Joint in Davis as long as Dr. Defrese works there. I found his behavior to be rude and dismissive. He was especially dismissive of my age and medical diagnosis which makes his aggressive style of chiropractic contraindicated. He showed no interest in using the gentle styles of chiropractic that are readily available. I now travel to Vacaville for my chiropractic adjustments, where every person is treated with kindness, care, and respect. read more

I had a great experience here today. I wish I had the staff names to shout out too. I went in around 2:25 and luckily no one was waiting so they took me back immediately. I had been stiff for the past 2 weeks and finally had time in my schedule to go. I work in Davis so this was convenient for me. Front desk person was super friendly and accommodating. A great experience with the staff and nearly full relief of pain. The package/cost is great as well. My only concern is that when I signed up the hours were set and I was able to come in on days when I was available. Now, the hours have changed to fewer days, and I'm now finding it difficult to come in due to the limited hours. There was no forenotice to the change in hours. It's been a week since I started visiting this place and I can honestly say that everyone should come here to get adjusted. The chiropractor here is amazing and extremely experienced. I feel very satisfied every time I walk out of that door. Process is super easy, I scan my card and can immediately enter, which is super convenient. On top of that, the customer service here is beyond amazing. I love the fact that I can come in anytime without an appointment and I can still get adjusted with very minimal wait time. Catrina, who works at the front desk is really friendly, professional and helpful despite her first week at work. She seems very passionate and confident in what she does. The price here is also a lot lower than what what chiropractic centers offer. Probably, the cheapest service that I know of.
