The lady at the front was very nice and informative. She answered every question I had and even made me crack a smile through all he pain I was going through. They said that they could "hopefully" work me in next week due , but Dr. Chris Hussy has worked me in his schedule right away because of the pain he saw I was in. He made me feel very comfortable as if I were a friend not a patient. I been to other chiropractors before but Dr. Hussy he is the one! After being in bed for a week and slowly recovering my ability to walk, I went to Stroud Chiropractic. They made me stand at a computer to fill out a crazy amount of paperwork and many pages of forms--I never saw an intake process like this, and I am 65 years old. After filling out the forms, which took about an hour, I sat for another 45 minutes to see Dr. Brook Martin. The office was somewhat chaotic and them seemed more interested in hustling patients in and out of their office, particularly as the day was coming to a close. The exam process was overly rigorous for my Sciatica pain. Based on their website, I decided to go to Stroud Chiropractic, which claims they are highly skilled at relieving sciatica pain. Unfortunately, I left their office in so much pain that I could hardly walk or drive my car. I was unable to drive the 20-minute journey home without stopping multiple times to stand up to attempt to alleviate the pain. Why would they have let me drive home in that kind of condition? My wife took me to the emergency room in the most pain I ever experienced in my life. The pain level was a 10/10, and I felt nauseous and almost passed out. As a result, I had to spend five days on bed rest before finally feeling well enough to see a spinal specialist for a proper diagnosis. My pain was so severe that I still hurt after taking muscle relaxants, an opioid painkiller, and also took some ibuprofen. I was up every hour on the hour to take a 10-minute hot shower to relieve the pain, as it was the only thing that would work. This entire experience has caused me considerable duress, loss of pay, and a massive impact on my well-being. I believe it could have been prevented if the chiropractor had approached my care differently. The chiropractor made me do many movements while standing, which resulted in the returning sciatica pain that was very much worse than the original incident. It would have been much better if she could perform a gentle hands-on palpation to identify the areas of tenderness, restricted movement, etc. While the doctor was taking xrays I was in so much pain I couldn't continue standing in the position so she could take more xrays. I sat there for 15 or 20 minutes to regain my compusure, then another assistant came in to finish giving me the xrays and I could still hardly stand and the pain returned. She was even having problems with the machine and prolonged my misery by having me take the x-ray a couple of more times to get the right image on the x-ray. They refused to give me the x-rays after I requested them. They said that the only way I could find out about the x-ray results was to meet with the doctor. Weeks later, when I went to a physical therapist, I had six sessions before I was allowed to bend at the waist. Some movements, like bending over at the waist, are a huge "don't do" with sciatica, yet this chiropractor had me do it and caused me a great deal of injury. I will not be returning to this office for any more care. I requested that we work something out with my payment for these services because I don't believe it is ethical to charge me for something that cost me many times over their service charges in lost wages and medical expenses. After speaking with the office about their lack of flexibility, they have referred my account to a bill collector. I will not pay them their couple of hundred dollars so they can harass me all they want. Stroud Chiropractic is not a place that I will ever step foot in again. They certainly demonstrated to me that they didn't care about my well-being.

Treatment plans can last weeks, so I had no illusion that I would get immediate relief. However, it was very helpful. I appreciate the services provided and no longer a chiropractic doubter. I want to be fair in writing this review because I absolutely made a mistake here. I should have…read morebeen paying closer attention to my credit card statements and caught the recurring membership charges much sooner. That said, my experience with The Joint has left me extremely disappointed with the way their membership and cancellation practices work. I stopped using The Joint roughly three years ago. Their own records confirm that I have not had a visit during that entire period, yet I continued to be charged approximately $80 every month. Over that time, those charges added up to several thousand dollars for a membership I never used. Their records also show that I contacted the office in 2025. I vaguely remember that call after noticing a charge and trying to deal with the membership. Ultimately, no written cancellation form was completed, and the charges continued. When I finally went into the Friendly Center location to address everything in person, the district manager specifically told me that they could not cancel memberships over the phone because doing so would be a HIPAA violation. She made that statement in front of customers and an employee she was actively training. After I challenged that explanation, I later received an email acknowledging that the written cancellation requirement actually comes from The Joint's Wellness Plan Agreement--not HIPAA. That distinction matters. HIPAA is federal healthcare privacy law. A company policy requiring written cancellation is one thing. Telling a customer that federal law prevents cancellation over the phone is something entirely different. I asked them to consider the circumstances and refund the charges, or at least work toward a reasonable resolution. I openly acknowledged that I should have caught the charges sooner. Their position, however, is that because I did not follow the written cancellation procedure, they are entitled to keep all of the money charged over roughly three years despite their records showing that I never used the service. To me, that says a lot about how this membership model operates. Consumers should absolutely read every part of the agreement and watch their statements closely. If you think you canceled, verify it in writing and keep a copy. Do not assume that not using the service for years, contacting the office, or making your intentions clear will result in any flexibility later. I take responsibility for my mistake. But in my opinion, a business also has the ability to look at an obvious situation, exercise some discretion, and decide whether keeping thousands of dollars for services that were never used is really the right thing to do. In my experience, The Joint chose the contract over the customer. I would strongly encourage anyone considering a membership to understand the cancellation requirements before signing up and to monitor every recurring charge carefully
