Canceled with them when we moved in February 2024. They didn't actually cancel it, kept charging us through December 2025. When confronted, acted initially like it was our fault. Then they DID actually cancel it, but refused to issue a refund or credit, and the manager who was supposed to call us never did. Nice environment doesn't make up for shitty ethics. read more

The office staff here are a joke. I am a previous Joint customer and here for an athletic tournament from out of town and needed to see a chiropractor. I'm a bit surprised at some of the reviews of this place as I've received nothing but good customer service here from the doctors and the receptionists. They definitely have helped my back, which feels much better than it did when I first started getting it treated here. My fave is the head doctor, who always asseses what I need on that particular visit, but a number of the other ones are good too. You better not cancel your membership when it's billed at the end of the month, or you'll be out of your services like I am. I feel like this place is always trying to get as much money as they can out of you. It's a pain to cancel your membership. I was talked into putting my account on hold, and was still billed the next month by mistake. Then I had to give them my name every time I came in to be seen for the next month because I wasn't technically in the system. I was called and asked when I wanted my hold to end, and I said I didn't care at that point. I really didn't want to come back anymore after all the headaches. Well of course a couple months later I was billed for a months service without warning. No email, text, or call. So I went in and asked to be seen for a service and cancel my membership. Well after I sign the paper to cancel my membership, I'm told I now can't be seen. I took a paper print out of what I had signed and asked the girl at the front desk to have someone call me back. Over two weeks passed and I never got a call back. After reaching back out to them again, turns out I'm just out on $70 because I was billed at the end of last month. I have never had such pain in my life. I walked in barely able to turn my head and look up - the pain in my neck was something I could't even imagine. Before I had went to 2 emergency room visits and one visit to a doctor. I left with loads of medication and know nothing else. So when I came into The Joint the Doctor explained to me what was actually going on with my neck and I was given my first adjustment... No medication - and I had my first night of some pain relief. I recently moved from out of state and needed to find a chiropractor. At the Joint they have different chiropractors each day. The first experience was really awesome. I was pleased with the results. Today was a nightmare. I explained to my chiropractor that I usually get activator method. He proceeds to manually adjust my back. I panicked! . I have been living with pain from an old injury and was only making it to my regular chiropractor a couple of times a year because even though he was great he was expensive and appointments generally had to be made weeks in advance. My boyfriend introduced me to this place and it has turned my life around. I get adjusted every week whether I feel I "need" to or not and for the first time in years I can go about living my very active lifestyle with little to no pain. Upsides: hundreds of locations around the country so I can get adjusted on the road, so so affordable, and military and vet pricing, and multiple doctors so if I have something new troubling me I don't have to wonder if my doctor can handle it or not because at least one of them can! Downsides: none? Sometimes there is a wait but waiting 30 minutes is nothing compared to 3 weeks for a regular doctor. LOVE THIS PLACE. While visiting an old friend in Columbia, SC , he wanted me to help him check out a new Chiropractic Clinic called "The Joint"... Since I have had previous chiropractic care in the past I welcomed his request. .. Doctors of Chiropractor perform adjustments with the intention to affect or correct alignment, motion, and or function of a vertebral joint which is normally called " Spinal Adjustment " I know in my case that most of my problems were associated with lower back pain and neck problems that would cause me headaches. On entering any medical facility like this a Chiropractic degree is required, so that area checked out here with licensed chiropractors listed. What was interesting is that they offer Chiropractic plans at a fairly low rate for a single appointment, month-to-month , and a premium plan which required a 6-month agreement but gave additional visits for $12... UNREAL !! Plus appointments were not required... Since my friend's insurance would not cover this type of care ...he wanted me ( since I have partial coverage with my insurance of $2000 a year) to tell him if this was a good deal...... That I can can say in the "affirmative" as my copay with my own Chiropractor is higher than those charged at the "Joint " Actually, I met the owner, Bob Keen, a medical professional, who saw the need for back and joint relief without resorting to pain meds which sometimes mask an alignment problem. He offered us a tour of the facility, and we were impressed with the professional atmosphere and the modern equipment.... Long Story Short... My friend signed up for the month to month plan because of his lower back pain, and was promptly seen, and experienced relief... You have to love the name " The Joint " I laughed the 1st time I heard it...but with insurance coverage spotty at best, it's about time that someone would make this type of care affordable and appointments when you need them. I found The Joint when they opened their location in Harbison. I have a bulging disc and was in so much pain when I first saw Dr. Darren. He helped me get healthy to where I can workout again 6 days a week. The care is totally affordable at $59/month. I even have my 13 year old daughter, with scoliosis, under care for $39/month. If I need more than 1x/week adjustment it is only $10 for another visit. Unbelievable! I do agree with another reviewer, however, it really depends on the doctor you get. Not all chiropractors are good. It is totally worth the drive for me from Irmo to go see Dr Darren on Forest Drive once a week. read more

I originally went to The Joint with my wife. She was recommended to go there by a friend to help with her migraines and SI joint pain. I had also been experiencing some lower back and Sciatica pain from time to time in my back. I had always heard that chiropractors want you to keep coming back and make you sign a plan for a certain number of visits. I'm very busy and for me to make an appointment for a Chiro visit just didn't make much sense. I decided to get adjusted one time with her, because she was a bit afraid. The staff was very friendly, they talked to me in depth about any chronic problems I was having and then I got adjusted. I couldn't believe how good I felt immediately afterwards. I walked into the lobby and filled out the paperwork to get on a monthly plan of regular adjustments. I made 4 trips to Africa last year. It's always a tough trip with sleeping on the ground in mosquito tents and even when we stay in regular rooms, the beds are way too hard. In November, I could barely walk off of the airplane. I went straight to The Joint with my wife and Dr. Norton immediately relieved my pain by working the SI joint and the Piriformis Muscle. That showed me they aren't just about popping but truly know anatomy and want to help the patients with pain. I truly believe that getting regular adjustments, along with massages, help me to stay active and be able to travel as much as I do with relative ease. My wife and I even use it as "afternoon dates" where we get adjusted together and then go out to eat. I love this place and can't imagine not being able to go and get adjusted on a regular basis. I recommend The Joint to all of my friends, especially if they tell me they have had any type of back or joint pain. After calling and yet again requesting an emailed copy of my receipt, I cancelled my 6 month contract. The person I spoke with failed to mention that I needed to sign a cancellation form. Something I couldn't due because I was in Jacksonville FL due to a death in the family. She could have emailed me one to sign, but never received one. When I did not receive any other receipts, I thought my cancellation is was complete...now 4 months later I get a receipt billing me for all three months. I can't say enough good things about The Joint. I came in for an adjustment when I tweaked my back. I was in so much pain, I could barely walk. Dr.Silvey listened and was so through when he was prescribing a course of treatment. He answered all of my questions and explained everything he was doing. I felt very reassured that I was getting the best care possible. The morning after I was adjusted , I noticed a huge improvement in my comfort level and mobility. My first visit was only $19 and I'll be honest-the great price & convenience of not having to make an appointment was what brought me in the door. I've been coming to the joint for 3 months now and have seen such an improvement. I also really appreciated the extra steps that both receptionists and the doctor have taken to go above and beyond with customer service. After my second visit, Dr Silvey called me the following afternoon to check and see how I was feeling-my general physical doesn't even do that. The girls at te front desk are so sweet and explained every aspect of my contract in depth -I never felt pressured to purchase a package or taken advantage of. Please beware. When they are signing you up, they will tell you all sorts of things that are not true. I told them when I signed up that I was going on vacation and that I was unsure of whether or not to sign up at that time because of that. They informed me that I could freeze my account at any time. When I came in and try to freeze my account, I was told that you can only freeze your account for a month or more which means that I could not come in during that month. That is not what I was told when they were selling me on the plan. Additionally, they told me that they have locations all over the East Coast. There were none where I was vacationing but I really did not want to see another chiropractor as I find going to a chiropractor a very serious deal. I wanted to freeze my account so that when I came back I could see the same doctor. Unfortunately, I lost that visit because they did not have a chiropractor in the area where I went and they would not allow me to pick up where I left off when I returned from vacation. If you don't mind paying for visits you will not receive, then you can sign up for the plan. I feel like I was robbed. If I'm paying for 4 visits, I should receive 4 visits and not 3 because I took a vacation. If they were honest when I signed up initially for the plan, I would not have done the plan until I returned from vacation. Additionally, I agree that you should see the same doctor at each visit. My first couple of visits I went to one doctor and had to see another one once. It was not a good experience at all. Now I will wait to see the doctor that I prefer since he is the one who initially saw me and evaluated me. read more

I first would like to say thank you to the entire staff. I was desperately trying to find something that could help the pain that I was in. I had left the ER that morning and still was having severe pain in my neck from severe muscle strain (could not turn my head radiating 10 level pain) and that was assisting with a migraine. The medication I was on was only making me vomit. After receiving a panicked email from me, The owner graciously returned my call in a very timely manner and asked me to come in immediately (btw- never been to a chiropractor before, I was desperate to relieve the pain). Once I arrived I was in tears from pain and just needed something to work. The staff walked me through the process and was able to help me. I received an adjustment that gave immediate relief. I was not 100% (impossible for the shape I was in), but immediately could feel the migraine reducing (to a functioning level. I was completely prepared to pay well over $100 just to have one adjustment, but this was not the case. Instead they have amazing prices and awesome service. All individuals were very personable and eager to help in any way possible. After the first adjustment i'm already feeling a world of difference, but they will continue to receive my business to keep this from happening in the future. I went to the joint after experiencing terrible pain in my back and leg. I spoke with a dr. that was filling in after speaking with me for about 20 mins. he explained to me that he wouldn't be able to work with me because I was between getting my MRI and waiting on the results. He said he would like to see the MRI results before working with me. Really a dr speaking with you WITHOUT charging you WOW.. So after I went back a the dr there looked at the DVD of my MRI. I was limping and in GREAT pain when I walked in and after treatment I could not believe that I actually had NO pain when I left. I'm not saying everyone will be the same but I know of my experience. I went in to see the Doctor for SI pain and he was great and the treatment worked. He wants to see me 4 more times, so I looked at their payment plan. I was told that I could pay month by month because I don't know how much treatment I will need past 4 more visits. However, I went back today to find out that you have to pay for 2 months at a time? Once again, great treatment; however, I see the Ol' bait and switch routine here, so I would be very careful going there! Now I see why military personnel near Post don't like going there. THIS PLACE WAS TERRIBLE!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!The minute i walked in the door, the young lady at the front started her sales pitch on trying to get me to purchase a package in which i come every week. And she didnt even know what was wrong with me! I told her that i never have neck or back issues and i only needed adjustment because I went horseback riding and must have knocked something out of whack. She insistef that i still sign up for a package. Really?! But to top things off, the guy barely adjusted me and told me i needed to come back three more times! The next morning I woke up in EXCRUCIATING pain...no lie! I definitely wasnt going back there so i found this EXCELLENT doctor in Lugoff named Dr. Connell. He has over 20 years of experience and he fixed me in two visits. I had to pay a higher price but it was WELL worth it. The Joint Place is an absolute rip off and its all about money with them and not the patient's adequate healthcare.
