Rice, pickled vegetable , imitation crab meat, smoke salmon wrapped in a white soft tortilla. So why I gave it two stars. I did find it a bit nasty gross. Too much sauce. Mine was drenched in sauce. The rice was not evenly spread. Most of it was at one end of the burrito. And the same goes for the smoke salmon and imitation crab meat. Portion wise was good. This is not a poke burrito. Also everyone knows California roll comes with avocado. Oh well. Too much sauce made it very nasty. Don't think I will order this again.

From the second I saw the black BentoBurrito truck sporting asian style burritos in the parking lot of Market on Macleod, my inner hipster did its happy dance. (Which ironically, isn't a very hipster thing to do.) BentoBurrito takes all the food items you'd find in a Bento Box and wraps it up with a burrito shell into one big mass of love. I could be wrong about this, but I think Bento Boxes are typically a Japanese thing, but BentoBurrito uses ingredient from all over Asia and americanized sushi, serving up items like the Chiki-Rito (Coconut chicken in a peanut sate) and the Cali-rito (kind of like a California Roll but in burrito form.) I've seen other sushi/burrito places (like Sushiritto in San Francisco http://www.yelp.ca/biz/sushirrito-san-francisco?osq=sushirito) but BentoBurrito does it a a little better. Instead of using the Nori as the burrito skin, they just just use a regular flour tortilla and put Nori flakes on the inside to give you the flavour. Much easier to hold, eat, and a little closer to a burritto than mowing on a gigantic sushi roll that hasn't been chopped. They'll fill you up with healthy and tasty ingredients for under $10. Hopefully you'll get a chance to check them out before next summer.

Imagine my happiness as I strolled outside to see the Holy Smoke BBQ truck. FINALLY here was my chance and the line wasn't enormous yet. Amazing meaty smells wafted at me as I waited to give my order, I told the guy operating the till that his truck smelled wonderful. I think I scared him slightly. I got the pulled pork meal, all the meals come with your choice of side: potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, but I opted for the corn bread. They were super quick with doling out the orders, once you receive it you can shimmy three steps to the left and put on all the BBQ sauces. I swear there are at least 15 options of sauces ranging from spicy to sweet and even some smoky sauces were available. I lathered up my pulled pork bun and found somewhere to sit and eat. I was not disappointed in all the hype I have heard of Holy Smoke from my husband. Glad to see the food truck incarnation holds up to the restaurant. Moist delicious pork, great coleslaw topping on the bun (maybe don't order coleslaw as your side), the sauces I had donned were flavorful and that corn bread. I could write a sonnet about that corn bread. As I ate it, I was ashamed I had baked corn bread the week before as it was an insult to this immaculate creation of corn and flour. Please come again to FMC, Holy Smoke!

Why is it that the concept of food trucks excites me? Food carts are not exciting but put that on…read morea truck? That's cool. Anyway, Holy Crepe was my first food truck experience in Calgary. I like the urban spray paint style the the truck and the religious humour thrown in for good measure. I found the truck downtown at lunch time and it had a huge line. I felt bad for the other cool looking food truck with almost no customers and probably 25 people standing around waiting for Holy Crepe. The other truck eventually left way too early for the downtown lunch rush and it's not because they sold out if you catch my drift. I ordered the Eden and I was not disappointed - it's not really like any other "crepe" I've had before. I'd compare the experience more to a panini in a crepe - but that really works for them. For what you get it's a bit expensive and not overly filling but for a light lunch it's all good. Things got a bit messy - not a great thing for midday in work clothes - but 15 minutes working on a drip on my pants in the bathroom later was somehow worth it. I've had this idea of catering my upcoming wedding with a food truck (which these guys do btw) for a bit and this would be a strong contender.... maybe! Review 5 of 30 in Yelp's 30 Day Challenge

Review #12 of Yelp's 30 Day Challenge 2012…read more Being a big fan of crepes I was so happy to find a crepe food truck here in Calgary! A crepe truck that regularly parks near my home and workplace which makes it easy for me to have access to crepe! Ok, so the quality of crepe may not be the best quality I've had but the fillings are so tasty most of the time I can finish two crepes (savory and sweet) that's good for two. The crepe itself is thicker and doughy than I would like it to be but it's not that bad that it turns me off. I've tried their their Holy Smokes which is filled with really tender and flavorful smoked meat. It's also loaded with mushrooms, peppers, onions, etc. topped with cheese - yummm!! For the sweet crepes, I've tried the Sweet Baby Jesus which is just a smaller version of the Sweet Jesus. I always choose to fill mine with mangoes and nutella. I find it easier to say no to the Holy Smokes but the Sweet Baby Jesus is just too hard to resist! :)
