We worked with Pam and her team over the summer finding a new home in the suburbs. Pam Jacobs and her Jacobs Group team have earned our highest recommendation, at least 6 stars out of 5! Pam listed and sold our homes in Lake Barrington and Barrington Village in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Both homes sold quickly, at top dollar, with minimal involvement on our part. Speed, price, no hassles; what more could a seller want? Pam presented us with thorough, detailed market studies explaining and supporting listing prices. She offered valuable recommendations to prepare our properties for sale, and called in contractors who quickly and correctly made presale repairs and improvements. She advised us on effective interior staging to help maximize buyer appeal, and captured the results with simply amazing photography. Pam and Chuck used their market expertise to deliver the broad and deep buyer and buyer agent exposure we wanted, including targeted advertisements and Web sites. Pam was highly responsive and communicated with us clearly and consistently from presale to closing - text, email, phone. She kept us informed of showings and prospective buyer and agent comments, so we always knew exactly where we stood in the process. Pam's office staff provided timely follow-up and support at every turn. Pam proved herself an excellent negotiator when it came to resolving buyer requests, finalizing offer and acceptance details, and finally closing the sales. We heartily and without reservation recommend Pam and the Jacobs Group. read more

After living in Barrington for 20 years, it was time for us to downsize. This was an overwhelming& emotional experience for our family, so we interviewed several top agents in our area. Pam impressed us from the start, with her approach & professionalism. Unlike the other realtors, Pam toured our home inquisitively, asking thoughtful questions & notating every detail which would highlight our home. Pam's confidence & the support of The Jacobs Group, really made us feel like part of a winning team. Her knowledge of the area & top local contractors made the process smooth & less stressful. We always felt comfortable with her team of professionals & everything about our experience was extremely positive. We would definitely rate Pam & her team as #1 & highly recommend! read more

Food is decent but the business practice of calculating tip rates based on the order price PLUS sales tax is deplorable. Based on a 15% tip rate they add about 1.22% to their bottom line for each dollar spent by calculating the total tip based on the total of the price and tax instead calculated just on the price. read more

Pam is an amazing agent, if your thinking about trying to buy or sell a house she would be the only agent I would work with. We have moved many times over the last 30 years and Pam and her team bring a level of expertise that you will not find often. Her level of market knowledge, integrity, honesty and her willingness to go the extra mile is exceptional. She is easy to talk to and she will explain the process and guide you through good decision making. Communication is a must and she was always available when questions came up. A+++ Pam for a selling/buying job well done read more

Pam worked with my wife and I to locate a fantastic home in Palatine. She helped us become familiar with the various areas of Chicagoland and she shared her personal insight to give us a valuable benefit to our search. In the weeks to closing, she provided much advice and guidance that made the process as smooth as possible. We would not hesitate to recommend her and her team. read more

Pam has a clear understanding of the real estate market, provides accurate guidance, and realistic expectations. She coached us on getting our home in "selling condition", particularly with the Internet providing transparency on homes. We established a selling time frame and sold at a fair market price. Pam and her professional staff attend to all the details to close the deal. read more

The entire team works flawlessly to achieve success for you while you're trying to sell a house. Communication is the name of the game with them. Negotiations are professional and honest. Marketing is creative and makes you want to buy your own house. I don't think my appraisal would have come in at plan without Pam's detailed documentation. Tracy sits in the background coordinating all the activities. I would highly recommend them to everyone if you want to be successful selling or buying a house. read more

After an unsuccessful attempt at a For Sale by Owner on our property in Deer Park, Illinois we decided to list with a realtor. Unfortunately, what we thought would be a seller's market turned into a difficult and anxious buyer's market through the spring and summer of 2016. Our first realtor simply counseled a reduction in asking price but, although we did this several times and despite leading the area in Zillow views, we got almost no showings for months and no offers. Finally, we carefully researched local realtors to see who was being successful in this challenging market and we found Pam Jacobs of Re/Max Barrington. Pam is the consummate realty professional. She looked closely at how the house presented and devised a plan to sell it. We set a strict budget for improvements and within that budget, Pam carefully targeted those aspects of our house that she thought might generate doubts and resistance in buyers' minds. Pam came with a team of people: a staging expert, painters, a plumber, a carpet installer, and an electrician and between them they identified what needed to be changed. We took the house off the market for a few weeks and the team went to work. Lighting fixtures were replaced or reworked, rooms were redesigned, bathroom fittings selected, purchased, and installed, key aspects of the house were painted, and new carpet was installed (at a very reasonable price too). When we put the house back on the market, at a carefully calculated price point, we had a first offer within 36 hours and an accepted offer within four days. We did experience a few glitches typical of selling a home: installing Radon mitigation, well treatment, and having to put in a whole new septic tank. Pam coached us through these projects, ensuring that the buyer was informed and the deal was safeguarded. We closed several weeks later without a hitch. As we were marketing our house, we also strongly recommended Pam to our neighbors who, like us, had attempted For Sale by Owner with little success. Pam counseled them as she had helped us and sold their house in a few days over list price on multiple offers--all in a buyer's market! We have subsequently referred Pam to another neighbor struggling to sell their house and to several colleagues for both selling and buying property. We do not take this reference lightly and we feel we are doing these people a great service by putting them in touch with Pam. Pam has been a joy to work with and we have the greatest pleasure in according her our highest recommendation as a talented, pragmatic, hard-working, and (most importantly) *successful* realtor. read more

The Jacobs Group is fantastic! We dealt with Pam and Tracy to sell our home in Deer Park and HIGHLY recommend them! While selling a home (& moving) are undoubtedly one of the most stressful events in a persons life. In our case my husband had a new job out of state, this upped the pressure as the clock was ticking. During the entire transaction our stress was eased knowing Pam had everything under control. She is extremely knowledgeable about real estate and the NW suburbs in particular. Her follow through was fantastic as was her insight and advice. Our son has autism and showings were going to be an issue (getting out of the house in a timely manner and having the house always look presentable) but Pam was SO understanding about it and allowed us to feel in control of the process. She guided us in what could slide and what couldn't ... ie make the beds but a dish in the sink isn't the end of the world. We are very grateful for The Jacobs Group ... our home sale couldn't have been handled any better. If you are in need of a great realtor Pam Jacobs is the one read more

Working with Tracy and Pam was a great experience. Tracy was our main realtor and I was very impressed with her in-depth knowledge of the northwest suburbs. I am not an easy customer and I probably asked her to take me to way to many houses. Luckily for me, Tracy was patient and the definition of great customer service. Not only did she help my wife and I find our dream house, but Tracy and Pam went above and beyond to help us with the sale of our condo. They were not our realtors for the sale, but they were always a phone call away, giving us advice and talking us through a very stressful situation. I cannot thank them enough! If you are looking for the best then look no further. read more

Working with the Jacob's Team was a dream! They sold our house in 10 days for 98% of the asking price. We began our journey with Pam and her team 6 months before putting up the sign. After living in our house for 21 years, we knew we needed to modernize it and consulted with Pam on what needed to be done. She made her recommendations and we got to work. Pam has great contacts - plumbers, carpenters, wood finishers, carpet stretchers, painters, you name it, who were available and reasonably priced. We also used her stager, Dawn at Stage II Sell. They worked with the furniture and accents we were keeping, and added some pieces to make the house more inviting. Between Pam and Dawn, we got a lot of great advice and it all paid off. Thanks to the Jacob's team for making this a great experience. read more

Pam was referred to us by a friend. Use her! She met all of our requirements plus more. We had a great experience with Pam and the Jacobs Group. From the minute Pam came to look at our home we felt her experience, thoughtfulness regard for our home and our goals were immediately taken into account. She spent the right amount of time helping us understand what comps were for the area and strategically helped us decide on a price. The Jacobs Group staff was very friendly and took great care to work around our hectic schedules. The marketing material really made our home stand out on the websites as well as the collateral material left when people came to see the house. Above all else our results were undeniable.... our home was under contract in less than TWO weeks! Pam's help did not end there we knew what to expect through out the close and even when questions came up there was never an issue, Pam's experience stood out keeping us in the loop until the final signing. We would definitely use the Jacobs Group again!!! read more
