This review is for the Huntington Learning Center in Pleasanton…read more My child was falling behind on her subjects in 5th grade. She was assessed at Huntington and we learned that she was a grade level or more behind on certain subjects. We knew that she needed additional support to get up to speed prior to the start of 6th grade. Mona provided a clear action plan to address my child's needs. We were provided a set number of hours that was an estimation of the time needed for my child to catch up to her grade level. We would meet up with Mona every 4-6 weeks to see the progress our daughter was making. We will see the scores our daughter achieved on different subjects. We would also discuss the focus of the upcoming weeks. The improvement was gradual in the beginning. Once my daughter got used to the process and routine, we saw dramatic improvement in her grades. Even her attitude towards learning has greatly improved! Mona mentioned that confidence on the subject matter is what really contributes to the success of a student. As my daughter gained more confidence in her work, we can clearly see that she began having a much more positive attitude about learning. We owe our daughter's success to Hunting Learning Center. Thank you!

I was introduced to Brightfox by a friend a few months ago, and we have been very happy with our…read moreexperience. One of the things I like most is the flexible class system. Many tutoring centers require you to buy a package of classes before you can start, but BrightFox lets you begin with just one class. That gave us a chance to see if it was a good fit for our child without feeling pressured. It also gave me the impression that they are confident in the quality of their program. Even though the classes are 2:1, my child still receives plenty of individual attention. It really feels like one-on-one learning. One of my children had never attended a tutoring center before high school because he preferred studying on his own. At BrightFox, the teachers always welcome questions and explain concepts step by step in a way that matches each student's level. This has helped my child become much more confident in learning. What impressed me the most is that the teachers don't just give the answers. They make sure students understand why the answer is correct and continue explaining until they know the student truly understands. You can tell they genuinely care about each student's learning. After every class, we receive detailed feedback about what was covered, how our child did, and what to work on next. As a parent, I really appreciate being able to stay involved in my child's learning. Before we enrolled, Mr. Alex took the time to understand our child's learning goals and helped us choose the best path. Ms. Heather has also been wonderful. She carefully follows our child's progress and provides support and guidance whenever it is needed. Her communication and care have given us a great deal of confidence. Our family is very happy that we chose Brightfox.

"We make learning Math fun!" "We teach it a way that makes…read moresense to them!" "We understand the way kids learn!" Are many common claims that many tutoring centers try to advertise for. Some are true to their words, but for Mathnasium of Livermore, they have proof of these claims if you decide to send your child into their learning center. The first thing I noticed when I walked in are all the enthusiastic tutors. I rarely saw students going on their cell phones or getting distracted. Not because the staff asks them to put it away, but because somehow, by some black magic, the kids are interested in learning the material that the Mathnasium instructors are giving. Even walking in you can sense an academic learning environment that you would find if you were to walk into a University Library. Every student is treated differently, even though there are standard guide lines to follow. Jonathan Bleecker, the Mathnasium director, is flexible and honest when it comes to giving your child what he/she needs. If he feels the Mathnasium isn't right for your child, he will recommend other tutoring places that specializes in different ways that a person learn. To him, I can tell it's not completely about the money and that he genuinely cares about the success of each and everyone one of his students (he remembers all the names of every student who walked in during my visit!). Try the Mathnasium and see all the great things that I've witnessed!

The amount of personal care that was put into making sure he was seeing growth and improvement was mind blowing. I feel that they truly were invested in him as a student and was there to celebrate his successes and encourage him every step of the way. The owner, Homayoon, left the nicest voicemail after we started and would even come in on his days off to help. My son primarily worked with Isaac and for the first time said that learning math is fun. He helped him in Algebra 2 and Chemistry. I've already referred them to others and what a great resource we have close by. I plan on going back if needed in the future and really appreciate the services they offer!

High school is stressful both academically and emotionally, and having this kind of guidance in place has made a real difference for our entire family. From day one, the owner, Homayoon, has been wonderful. He genuinely cares about student success, does an excellent job matching students with tutors, meets with parents and students, and has been incredibly helpful in guiding us. Last year, my daughter was overwhelmed by chemistry, but Bay Area Tutoring completely turned things around. She finished the year with an A and gained the confidence to take on other challenging subjects. We are using Bay Area Tutoring again this year for math support with a tough teacher, and the experience has been just as positive. Highly recommend Bay Area Tutoring to any family navigating academic challenges. We only wish we had found them sooner, but are so grateful we did.

We had a deeply disappointing experience with this daycare. Our family recently moved from Fremont…read moreto San Ramon, and we enrolled our two sons, ages 5 and 8, in the summer program before the school year began. Our 8-year-old was experiencing adjustment difficulties following the move and had some incidents involving aggression. After only two weeks, Susan and Art told us that our 5-year-old was "great," but referred to him as "the other one" while saying that our 8-year-old did not belong there. We found this comparison and the way the situation was communicated to be insensitive and unprofessional. We were also told that they were not equipped to support children who act out or do not fit their daycare's approach. Susan stated that they had not experienced this type of behavior from another child in 10 years. Rather than working with us on a transition plan or discussing possible supports, they made it clear that our son could not remain in the program. Our son had been academically successful in Fremont Unified, but he was struggling emotionally with a major move and needed patience, structure, and constructive communication. We understand that every program has limits regarding the behaviors it can safely manage. However, we were very disappointed by the dismissive way our child and family were treated and by the lack of compassion shown during a difficult transition. After only two weeks of enrollment, we now have to find new childcare for both children. Based on our experience, I would urge parents--especially those whose children may need additional behavioral or emotional support--to ask detailed questions about the program's capabilities and approach before enrolling. They conveyed to us that they had limited training, resources, and ability to support children who need additional help, and that their program is better suited only to children who fit within their narrow approach to childcare.
