This isn't my favorite ice cream in Mason but it is the only outdoor ice cream place in Mason so…read morethat's a big win in my book! They have a wide variety of options like milkshakes, malts, soft serve and even some non dairy options as well as hot food! Haven't had a single bad thing from them yet and they're always super friendly and efficient! Walking around near the Ingham Country Fairgrounds this summer? Stop by for a treat!

This place has very reasonable prices and a huge selection to choose from. I have since moved away however whenever I am back in town it's a must stop. They are seasonal and only open Memorial Day through Labor Day. This place is everyone friendly even pets! I used to take my Rottweiler there every time we went for a walk and she would patiently wait for her cone to come out, once it did it did not last long. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The food that they serve has also been really good and again at a fair price when everyone else has raised prices. They have seating on the sides of the business and there's room to park all around the business. This is a Mason Michigan Staple, if you're ever passing through you have to stop in and get some ice cream. Yes I am bias but this is the best ice cream you will find, I love the Dairy Hill and will always go there when ever I am in town! Thank You Dairy hill for 40 plus years of my life for the best ice cream around!

Open all year! Because ice cream treats are always in season!…read more This is a real old-style ice cream *parlor*, not just an ice cream cone walk-up counter. Sit inside or outside (depending on weather) if you wish. Ambience is bright, casual fun outing. A local artist draws seasonal pictures on the large wall chalkboard, the opposite wall is hung with framed pages from vintage Mason newspapers that also change with the season. They have soft-serve as well as hand-dip. Classic ice cream flavors are usually in stock, others are seasonal and rotate availability. Most of the ice creams are made by quality regional producers. Some are made in-house, and they are delicious! Their house-made butter pecan is excellent, better than commercial versions. They make shakes, sundaes, malts, floats, razzles - also grilled cheese sandwiches. Daily Scoop also offers house-made dairy-free sorbets, so there is some treat choice for everyone. On the counter next to where you order there is a display with models of ice cream serving sizes so you can see what size is best for your young child as well as your adults. The reviewer below who complained about serving sizes did not pay attention to these size models. If you have questions, just ask. The staff is cheerful, welcoming, and helpful to everyone. And of course, there is free street parking in downtown Mason.

We decided to get ice cream in Mason, Michigan. I ordered a double dip in a waffle cone and my wife ordered a single scoop in a cup. When we received our purchase I was taken aback by the small amount of product in both purchases. While I was encouraging my wife to order more, we were interrupted by someone who claimed I was insulting his business. I replied that I had never been served such a small serving in my travels around Michigan. (Note: We estimate an individual scoop is around 1/4 cup.) The picture is the cup for 1 scoop and ours were only 1/2 full.

The ice cream is outstanding. I highly recommend Nana's Banana Pudding ice cream. The Bourbon Trail ice cream was also very good. The Chicken Hoagie was tasty and the House Fries were great. The prices were fair and the counter service was fine. The only reason I did not give this a five-star rating is that it took more than half-an-hour to get our food to us after we ordered. With a hangry 3-year-old, that was a bit annoying. It was clear why this was the case as they were churning out to-go orders like crazy. We were so far back in the queue because there were so many on-line orders ahead of us. They're busier than they appear from the foot traffic. We finally had to order our ice cream (which came up quickly) to give our granddaughter something to eat because the sandwich and fries were taking so long to get to us. I am not sure what to suggest to them to rectify this, but I'm not inclined to go back on a busy weekend night unless I order ahead.

The staff was friendly and quick to acknowledge my presence and helped me maneuver through the menu. The food took a bit longer than I expected and I appreciated it because it was literally being cooked fresh. I could see the kitchen and the cooks making my food. Now the taste... delicious. The burgers were flavorful, the bun soft and fresh, the condiments were the right amount for me (I know this is subjective). The fries were cooked as I asked with a nice amount in the large. Try the moo moo sauce. It's different than expected yet familiar. I would definitely return! Sorry! I forgot to take pics of the food... next time!

The sandwich wasn't over powered with a sauce coverup. They let the ingredients of the sandwich do the work. The sourdough bread was good. The turkey was really good. The bacon had maybe a brown sugar on it. Almost tasted like million dollar bacon if you have ever had that at other places. And just a hint of something that made me eager for the next bite. Was it a little pricey. Maybe if you have never left grass lake. But on par for this type of thing. The menu was a bit hard to follow. Again first time there. I didn't see a half sandwich option. Which would have been plenty for lunch. But bad for my taste buds. Or that they had soup or what the soup was. I think half my time was spent trying to decipher what all they had and what I wanted. I see some ppl complain about the wait. It was a little long. But what was expected when they are making it right in front of you. And toasting it in the moment. I personally spoke to the general manager who seemed to be on top of things. It was my first visit. I didn't try the coffee and the ice cream. But it looks visually great. I often travel the country looking for a place exactly like this When I'm on the road. Small, non chain, warm, inviting coffee breakfast and lunch spot. I'm delighted to have one so close to home. It was a little loud I could see if it got crowded being really loud. I hope this place catches on and becomes a staple. I know I will b recommending ppl go there and I know I'll b back.
