I signed up for these sessions for the hypnotherapy. I think my counselor did a well as a diet counselor but I was unable to be hypnotized. So it made for very expensive "pep talks". I did contact the main office regarding my disappointing visits, in regards to the hypnotherapy. Her response was something similiar to "it's not going to happen, if you're not going to work at it". I just finished my 8 sessions with Maria and I really enjoyed my time with her. Her hypnotherapy sessions were great, especially towards the end of my sessions when she really understood what was going to work for me. I didn't lose any weight, but I really worked on my issues with emotional eating. The Hungry Heart program has changed my life. I am a completely different person than I was when I started - a calm, healed, confident, assertive person who loves myself unconditionally. I'm letting go of the resistance to love and so much love is coming into my life now...Didn't really expect this much out of a program for emotional eating. All the years of counseling and self-help books made some positive changes but this program - it brought the healing I have been seeking. The day I finished my last session, I totally stopped having the urge to overeat. Sometimes, I still eat junk food but not like I used to. Mostly I eat healthy. Mostly I stop eating when I get full. I have thrown away so much food because I ordered food like I did before the program and then I get full and don't want to eat a bite more. And this is not me forcing myself to stop eating - this is happening quite subconsciously and effortlessly. The weight is coming off slowly and naturally which is really good. I'm not on a diet. I am listening to my body. I listen to the hypnosis sessions that my counselor recorded on my phone almost every night and morning. They are priceless. The last session is my favorite and I listen to it almost every night and morning. A few days ago, I had an exciting yet nerve racking date (first one in 8 years). I listened to the hypnosis to calm down and feel safe no matter what happened and it worked. I was able to really enjoy the experience instead of being too nervous. I'm starting to manifest things in my life now. Like that date I mentioned. Things that I didn't think I would have or experience again. Things that I had given up on. My counselor was wonderful, caring and sensitive. She made me feel safe and understood. She also has a wonderful voice and that lovely accent that makes it nice when I listen to the hypnosis sessions. One last thing, the transformation that I'm writing about here did not happen until the end. About half way through the program, I wasn't sure if anything was happening and I was contemplating stopping. I'm so glad I didn't. I wanted to add this because it's important for anyone considering the Hungry Heart program to understand that they need to hang in there until the last session. Lauren, thank you so much for creating this program. I am now reaching my potential and I'm 56...I was thinking that I was pretty much stuck where I was and that was it, that life wasn't going to get much better. And now I'm on a dating website, working out with a trainer twice a week and feeling like I'm 30 again (sometimes even younger...) read more

What Alisa has done for me has literally changed my life. I already know that my experience with her is without question one of the very best things I will have ever done for myself. Every day from here on out will be markedly different because of the journey she started me on. And that's pretty darn powerful. Having experienced hypnotherapy before, I expected to go in, let Alisa "put me under" and do her thing-- give me some vague subconscious prodding to put me on some sort of automatic pilot to limit my food intake here and there. Wow, was I in for something else. Alisa cracked me wide open. She let me question and reconsider everything I cherished and stood for in order to see a whole new side of myself I hardly knew existed. We took the food issues head on, but we also did so much more. I've definitely lost weight in our short time together, and I know I'll lose more until I'm at an ideal place. But the secret I quickly learned is that it's not really all about that. Don't get me wrong-- it's wonderful and it will be part of the better me I'm working on. But the key to it all is about tackling a bigger puzzle of yourself that gets you to a healthy relationship with yourself so that you can then have a healthy with food. So instead of just learning some ways to put the fuel in smarter, Alisa and I have gone completely under the hood and repaired the transmission. The changes physically, emotionally and spiritually are without a doubt recognizable and I know I've only just begun. What a transformation inside and out. Unfortunately, as a healthcare practitioner, I used to refer patients here. The owner makes you sign a contract that you cannot post a negative review without legal consequences. After a mutual patient had a bad experience and posted a negative review, the owner harassed her continuously to remove her negative post or be charged a large sum of money on a credit card they had on file for her. My friend *Alicia had her baby girl this past May and has been pretty depressed from not being able to get to the weight she wants to be comfortable at. She is a very attractive looking lady yet she still was holding herself back from appreciating the real beauty she held inside. So she started doing different weight loss programs like Atkins, Weight Watchers, and even tried a few different weight loss clinics. I hadn't talked to Alicia or seen her since July. So when I talked to her last week I could hear the joy in her voice. She sounded more confident and happy. I asked her besides the baby where was this new found joy coming from. She then professed her love for The Hungry Heart. Letting me know that she's been able to become a more complete person getting to know herself better because of being able to talk to someone who has been through the same emotions she was going through. Alisa has changed my life. I came to her after 2 years of struggling and feeling more and more hopeless with my binge eating, which eventually began affecting all areas of my life. By the time she saw me, I was desperate and unsure of my ability to ever deal with my emotions without food. Within even 2 sessions, a change registered, and by the end of 6 weeks, I knew, with help, that I had cured myself. She helped me help myself out of an unnecessarily dark hole and I feel like I have gained so much. Dealing with binge eating, I think, has to do with how one copes with life's curveballs, and I have learned to deal with the latter like a different person as well now. The Hungry Heart Program lived beyond my expectations - I honestly never thought that I could psychologically change my behavior w/ regards to food! I knew I had to eat healthy and eat less - but I never realized the emotion and psychology behind eating. I just finished session 7 with Orit in Mission Valley. It has been a wonderful experience. I am feeling calm and confident. The program is about accepting yourself, loving yourself and living a healthy, happy life. My cravings for sweets are disapearing and I am truly enjoying cooking and eating healthy foods. I had gastric bypass surgery a year ago and had lost 70 pounds but I was craving junk food and wanting to eat constantly. I was beginning to regain weight. I decided to go to Hungry Heart to get to the issues in my head that were driving me. The program isn't cheap, but when I think about finally having peace in my head about food, I realize what a great value it is. If you are tired of being tormented by food, if food is your enemy, if you feel like you are failing when dealing with food, then this is the program for you.
