The Hub, previously Bladium, is pretty alright. I never have to wait to use certain machines, the gym is ALWAYS clean and so put together (this I appreciate SO much), the downstairs work out area is such a vibe and so different from when Bladium was in operation and you get to watch some cool Pickleball action as you work out. They also have a pro shop with drinks, gear and snacks, and a seating area. I appreciate the water bottle stations and sanitizing stations throughout the area! The locker rooms, much like the gym, is also always clean. So yay for cleanliness! Some cons are the price: - it is QUITE expensive, especially if you also want to lay the added cost of a pickleball membership on top of your gym membership. I do miss the Bladium membership price I had. - the front desk staff is almost never at the front desk when I check in and aren't the most helpful. However, shout out to Jhunel A. who has always answered my questions or gotten back to me with answers!!! He's on top of it always. - it is HELLA hot upstairs! The fans can only do so much. I avoid going on hot days to the gym. Overall, I enjoy working out here!

This is an amazing facility with lots of indoor courts and outdoor. Perfect place to play pickleball with friends and new people. Everyone is really friendly. The staff was very nice to answer any questions about the facilities too. It did get a little warm inside with the big door open to the outside. We went for a birthday party and it was so fun! There is an area next to the courts for food and tables with plenty of space. We had a great time playing for 6 hours!

We stayed at the Hyatt Resort And Spa because it's close .4 mile walk to the courts. The resort included one day of comp'd PB at The Hub:) We were very impressed with the facilities. The owners were there and very welcoming. They made sure everyone understood the paddle up system on one of the busy days. We actually played all of the days we were in Lahaina. Our son and his fiancé even joined us. All levels were made to feel welcome. They have beverages for sale just in case you forgot. There is a clean bathroom for use. If you want some hard core PB that's available too. This is a first class facility. We will return. Yes, we are picklenuts

Wow! This place has it all, amazing indoor pickle ball courts, full pro shop and an amazing gym. I could spend everyday here! The courts are perfect, high ceilings, great lighting and dark backgrounds. Whoever designed this place must be a player. They even have designated courts for the level of play. Definitely a place to bring family and friends when the weather is not cooperative. Special shout out to Sanchir for taking care of the team while we were here. Great service and a great facility a perfect combination for long term success.

I think it's pretty cool that the old Alameda Naval Air Station (NAS) gym is still in use! Think about all the games and people who have cycled through the place over the years. Gotta give it up for a piece of history still hosting youth tournaments almost 80 years after it opened. 3.5 stars

It can get backed up quickly. There are 4 courts inside split with dividing curtains like Jam Town or the Field House. Courts are well maintained and in pretty good shape. While there are bleachers, courts 2 and 3 get the worst of it because you split them between the two so many people end up standing or crowding the end areas. If you get court 1 or 4 you are good (as a spectator). The restrooms are so old. For a facility this large they really should update them. There were two stalls in the womens bathroom and the floor was all uneven like an old school garage floor. The attendants that run this gym (not the people hosting the tournament) were so grouchy this weekend. This was a bball tournament for all ages (under 18) and I observed this short older woman yelling at children about bringing food inside the gym. Ok there's no food allowed we get that and yes she certainly did her job of not allowing any food inside bc all the smaller boys and girls flinched so hard with her shrill warnings. Your house your rules fine but seriously it wouldn't kill her to lighten up a bit. My husband needed to use the restroom and I guess when he was on his way inside someone stopped him and told him he couldnt go in because they were replacing the paper towel roll. Ok? But then someone (not a worker) by passed my husband and the attendant just let him through without scolding him! Selective much? Or maybe my husband didn't appear as intimidating? Who knows. I would much rather pay for entry at nearby Jam Town than come here. The people are nicer and the facilities are more updated. Although, I will say that the location of this place is near lots of choices for shopping and food so in between games you don't have to drive far. One star for the surrounding area and one star for the well maintained courts.

I am new to joining a gym and as a senior, I hoped for a positive outcome, and not feel intimidated or like I "didn't belong" I felt very welcome, I've taken a few classes that have been beneficial for me. One is for posture & strengthening. The instructor is fabulous, knowledgeable and makes our workouts fun. I thoroughly enjoined a class called "just breathe" very relaxing and uses the "Alexander Technique" but now the wonderful instructor is on maternity leave and we look forward to her return. There is currently a sub but I haven't had a chance to go back. I'm learning to use the equipment at my own pace. There are several rooms with different equipment and I never feel pressured by someone else needing the one I may be using. I bring my own container of disinfectant wipes, since not everyone is conscientious about wiping their equipment after they're done using it. And I'm fine with using my own, even though each room does provide a spray bottle and small towels are available at the front desk. I bring my own mat to the classes, but they have them at the front desk if you need to borrow one. The best for me personally is the use of the indoor pool ! I have never enjoyed using a pool anywhere until I joined this gym. I've tried two different classes. One is Gentle Aqua & another one is Aqua Cardio. Both instructors have different times depending on the day of the week . Both ladies are fabulous! The hours suit my needs perfectly. The ladies locker room is always immaculate. Shout out to Maria who is there Monday - Friday She keeps the locker room, freshly clean, always wiping down the wet floors as we come back from using the pool. She is very kind and welcoming, and we appreciate her so much! And lastly, the Manager, Edward was very kind and welcoming. He gave me a nice tour of the gym. I was a bit uncertain that joining a gym was the right thing for me to do. He gave me information on trainers that they work with to help me along with my journey. My friend and I joined together & we are pleased with our decision to join. He remembers our names and greets us personally every time we see him. Overall we recommend this facility, especially as a Senior citizen, we truly feel we belong

The facility supports everything that serious training demands. Weight training, agility work, strength development, and conditioning are all right there, without overcrowding or nonsense. When your gym is clean, organized, and community-driven, you show up differently. You train with intention. You recover properly. You stay consistent. For anyone balancing intense martial arts training with long-term health and performance, Alameda Fitness & Spa isn't just a gym. It's a foundation.

My non-negotiables in identifying a trainer were someone who knew the different muscle groups and variations of exercises, made me feel safe, was patient, would challenge me, and supported my fitness goals. Impact Fitness and the trainers, Liam and Ed, embody all those characteristics! On my first day, I could not lift a trap bar because of my form and general weakness in my knees. I was also unable to jump up and land on both of my feet or even crouch down in a squat without it being super uncomfortable. Each day, Liam was incredibly patient with me and celebrated all the little wins with me as my knee progressively got stronger. Liam also encouraged me to seek physical therapy and took time to incorporate some of my physical therapy exercises into the exercises that I was doing in the training. Fast forward to August 2025, I can easily do four sets of 192 lbs on the trap bar and maxed at 205 lbs. I can now squat while holding a 40lb dumbbell, and be confident in the strength of my knees. I also learned how to do different variations of different exercises to accommodate my height and relative flexibility. If you are wondering if this is the place for you, I would say BIG YES if: 1) You want to be in a safe and empowering gym where folks encourage you to push harder but also celebrate the big wins 2) New to strength training and do not know where to start 3) Have goals to improve muscle weakness and learn how different exercises work different muscle groups 4) Looking for a space that does not have "gym bro" culture that is centered on supporting people reaching their optimal health Overall, I love this place and am so grateful to both Liam and Ed for being excellent trainers. I included a video of the inside of the gym, which is always kept clean, and they provide complimentary sweat towels, a filtered water station, and bathrooms. Truly a gem! *Important note: I was enrolled in the semi-private class with 2-3 people per group. I have also taken the group class, which was great!*

I walked in for my 12:00pm appointment and the place was pretty much empty, aside from the attendant at the desk who happen to be who would be stretching me. Estrella introduced herself, asked me to sign my waiver, and walked me over to the assessment tablet. Before laying down to start my stretches, I asked that she rewipe the table (can never be too careful) and she did it without any issue. Thank you for that. She was so easy going and very informative about muscle groups, necessary stretches needed to loosen me up, etc. Once we got into it, the stretching was amazing (as was the conversation) and the information she gave me about my own body. She was putting me in stretches that I've never done and when it was all over, my body felt so good. Now things I didn't like: The place being empty made me waaaaaaay more comfortable because the openness can be a bit off-putting for some of the stretches/conversations. Shortly after getting started another customer came in and it went from peaceful to hearing his conversation about his body with the other attendant. I also didn't like that Estrella had to keep stopping to help walk-ins asking about services. That was a bit distracting during my session. The massage "waiting" chair being stationed right next to the table where my stretch was taking place was a bit of an issue too. When other clients walked in, she offered them the chair, but it was so close to us. It made me a little uncomfortable and a little more reserved in conversation. Nevertheless, it was a good experience. I was able to get in on an introductory price of $79.00. After my stretch was done, Estrella spoke to me about the benefits of continuing my stretches and about purchasing membership/subscription options - all at a higher price. I honestly believe $79.00 is the perfect price for this service, especially in this economy. The membership/subscription options are pretty expensive and why I said it "should" be a regular thing, but feels like more of a luxury that you must decide whether you need or not. Overall, it was a great experience I'm still on the fence on whether I'll buy a membership/subscription, but I have recommended quite a few people try it out.
