Thanks to one of Mom's nurses, we found Premier Placement Service, and the wonderful Jim Cassin to guide us in our search. He made a list of our requirements (preferred locations, availability of a private room, competent staff, clear budget range, etc) and prepared a list of possible care facilities. He accompanied us to several places, and acted as intermediary to others to facilitate our visits. Jim was a huge help, as well as compassionate and empathic. We found a lovely place for our mother in Benicia, a residential home care facility with a total of 6 "residents", home-cooked meals, and two around the clock caregivers. She has a large private room facing the back patio and a view of the hills, and is now settled in comfortably -- all within 2 weeks of her accident. We are so grateful to Jim and Premier Placement Service for the wonderful services they provided when we were in desperate need!

My experience with Ascot Staffing was an extreme disappointment. After being contacted by an Ascot…read moreemployee, we planned for me to take some assessment tests and fill out some paperwork. I told this person I could have all completed and ready the next day. However, it took longer than I had anticipated, but once complete, I sent all required information and documents, and completed assessments. In the interim, we were speaking on the phone, and they were describing a position they were offering me. I told them yes, this sounds like a great job and said I would like it, and they asked if I were available to start the next day. I said absolutely. I was excited, and looked forward to it, but I needed to end the call and asked if I could call back in 30 minutes because I was in a vehicle at the time and couldn't hear well and I wanted to to be able to focus on our conversation. I wasn't able to call until 45 minutes later. When I called back they expressed they were not pleased with me calling 15 minutes later than I said I would, and I was then told to forget it, that they didn't want to work with me after all because I was late in getting the tests and paperwork to them, and late calling back. I did apologize, and assured them that I would do the job well and that they wouldn't be disappointed that they sent me, but they wouldn't give it a chance. To just dismiss me and rescind the opportunity for the position they offered, and after taking all the assessments was such a disappointment and I felt they didn't even give it a chance. It was very cold, and premature. I can understand the importance of timing, but this didn't warrant such an action as to rescind the job offer. I am sure this is not a common issue, and that Ascot Staffing is a good company with pleasant, experienced personnel, but I do wish they would have at least given me the opportunity to do a great job as I am confident I would have.
