The management of the Howell has failed to live up to its end of the bargain, for which I will be needing monetary compensation.
1. At the time of signing the lease, the management had refused an earlier move in date because they needed to ensure the unit had to go through a deep cleaning, and the unit was ready for move in. However, the unit was only broom swept when I had moved in. Even the employees admitted that the unit was not cleaned.
2. The unit has loose fixtures/appliances that need to be fixed. There are innumerable scratches on the kitchen counter. From the bathroom, to the curtains in the rooms. have attached pictures. In lieu of the monthly rent, I was expecting a unit that is not in this condition.
I had requested an earlier move in date, but management refused because they needed to ensure the unit was ready, which is why I agreed despite all the hardships I had to deal with to move in on a Monday in the second week of August.
But the fact that we're entering the third week of August and I still cannot take advantage of the unit for which I had paid upfront $4200 for, is absolutely unfair. Rather I'm having to shell out additional expenses for living in a hotel for a week, and to live in the unit is not cleaned and is damaged. And not to mention the psychological distress and physical strain I've been put through.
I had heard great things about Greystar, which is one of the reasons I was keen on moving into this unit and this building. read more
