We decided to try the Chester Chicken because it's new in town. The prices were a little high on the meals for me. I ordered the 3 chicken strip meal with a side of fried corn cob. (all the meals come with potato wedges and a honey buttered biscuit), and my brother ordered the 2 piece chicken, he went with 2 legs and a side of mac n cheese. They also offer honey mustard, ranch, BBQ or sweet and sour sauce. I wish they had asked if we wanted a drink added because I didn't think about it till we sat down. The fountain drinks and coffee were out of order because they didn't have water yet. Hopefully they'll get that working soon. My chicken was great it just tasted of a little more pepper than what I'm used to. The fried corn was good. I was full after eating the biscuit and potato wedges, so I took the rest home. The parking lot was packed with everyone checking out the new place. My son-in-law, Jesse Whisler, was dressed up as a chicken and dancing by the highway to bring in customers for the first day and take pictures with. Right now the place is looking fabulous and extremely clean with balloons everywhere of course for their first day. It was packed inside with many customers and a lot of noise, but they were still getting us through pretty quick. Kayla Bennett was my favorite server, she was all smiles and got our order perfect..made our experience so good! Huge thank you to Kayla!!! I think this is going to be the place to go for the locals. It will also be a nice new place for all the semi truck drivers as well! I might mention they also have an ATM inside and accepts Google pay. We will definitely be back!!

They were out of white bread, though there were many other choices. Everything looked so fresh! The guy in front of me had his footlong sandwich cut in half and each half wrapped seperately because he said they get soggy if you don't..good tip! We got everything we needed perfectly and added drinks to our order and they gave us Subway cups that you have to fill at the fountain area in Loves. All the fountain drinks tasted like carbonated water. I ended up just getting a cup of ice. We decided to eat here and chose a booth. We noticed that at every table and booth there's a plug in with 2 USB ports, which is nice to know. Our sandwiches were all delicious. I ordered the 6" sweet onion chicken teriyaki with 2 macadamia nut cookies...so good! We'll definitely be back here to eat again..maybe next we'll just get a cup of ice and purchase a bottle of pop if they haven't got the fountain drinks fixed by then.

From the outside, the branding leans heavily into the Route 66 identity--logos are everywhere, setting the expectation for a nostalgic roadside dining experience. Stepping inside, however, the atmosphere takes a different direction. Rather than embracing classic Americana, the décor feels modern, highlighted by whimsical cow artwork adorned with flower crowns. It's charming in its own way, but not the vintage Route 66 ambiance I was expecting. One thing that deserves high praise is the cleanliness. The café is immaculate, from the dining room to the overall presentation, reflecting a team that clearly takes pride in maintaining the restaurant. The food, unfortunately, was less memorable. The oatmeal was overly thick and dry, lacking the creamy comfort you'd expect. Buttered toast carried an off flavor, suggesting the griddle or butter station could use a refresh. The signature pancake, dusted with a powdered sugar "66" logo, was visually appealing and easily the meal's most Instagram-worthy item, but it too was disappointingly dense. Where Cafe 66 truly shines is its service. Every staff member I encountered was warm, welcoming, and eager to help first-time visitors feel at home. Their hospitality left the strongest impression of the visit. In my opinion, Cafe 66 seems to be transitioning away from being a destination built on Route 66 nostalgia and toward becoming a dependable neighborhood café for the Clinton community. There's nothing wrong with that--in fact, it's probably the more sustainable business model. But travelers seeking an authentic trip back in time may leave feeling that the iconic branding promises more nostalgia than the dining experience ultimately delivers.

Water, Orange Juice?-" I said do you have lemonade and she said no, okay that's fine but she said it in the possible most oddest way ever. After that interaction and I got my drink, she left; nother person came and asked what we would like to eat (this was 10 minutes after our drink) , I then said I would have a side salad and mac n cheese. My mom across from me said she has friend chicken, after we gave our order we then waited 30 MINUTES...for a SALAD. Thing is I didn't mind but when I tried it, it really did taste like grass and incredibly earthy and odd and that's when I wasn't exactly happy when I waited for a extra earthy salad... My mac n cheese came, it was delicious!!!!! 15 minutes after this, my moms food came and she said it was really good too. See we loved our food besides the extra earthy salad and almost 45ish minute wait time. On the other hand, when waiting we noticed our server and multiple others would get served before us and get asked how the food was, but not us though and that genuinely had me curious and ruined the whole experience. I love the conversations and the communication like as e.g. "How is the food?" , "How are yall doing today?", these are good things; it did not happen though and we got bluntly ignored. If you work in any restaurant jobs, please have good communication with your customers.
