I've been to a couple of yoga and hot yoga studios during my stint in Kelowna and I automatically liked this one. A) the temperature isn't as hot as the other studios. This is helpful for me because I like to go for a long workout before my yoga classes. The last thing I want is to stroke out lol B) They have very reasonable prices. Keep your eyes open for any pass sales. The community classes are on Friday or Saturdays depending on their schedule and it costs $7. C) there is a very positive vibe and they don't take themselves too seriously. There are all types of levels of skills and I never felt intimidated about not knowing how to do a pose. D) the music is fun. I'm not a serious yogi so listening to chants or enya for a full hour does not help me concentrate. The playlists are contemporary (lots of indie music) and are put together by the instructor. E) they have a great social media presence so I would check out their Facebook page to learn more about what they're up to. They are very active in the community so you can learn a lot about what's going on and get involved. F) favourite classes for me are the Power and 50/50 class. I don't have one I avoid. I bid on 20 classes at Hot Box in a silent auction for a community fundraiser . It was valued at $250 and I ended up being the final bidder at $225 I was then told by Sara the owner that it was not a donation but a promotion . The 20 cards ended up being free class cards meant to be handed out individualy to promote the studio to new clients not to help raise money in the auction. In good faith seeing as how this was an item which did in fact raise $225 in funds for a very worthy cause, it's unfortunate they would not consider allowing me to attend a few classes or even offer a discount towards a membership. Surely my attendance at more than one class would not cause any disruption and seeing as classes and instructors are already in place the studio would not be out of pocket by having me attend at least a few classes. This is a great yoga place. It is very calm and positive and has a young vibe. The studio is bright and clean (no sweat smell like other hot yoga classes) and the heat is tolerable. I wish the instructors were more involved with the yogis, helping you when you are doing a pose wrong. The price is also high for students and they have a policy of only accepting students under 25, which I don't understand. The best instructors are Dustin and Michelle. Michelle gives the best head message at the end of her classes! UPDATE: They have actually told their instructors to correct poses and I have seen many of them doing this now. This is my favourite hot yoga in Kelowna and wish they had more special discounts or better student pricing for all ages. read more

The studio is nice. I bought a Groupon for a 10-class pass that had to be activated before a certain date. Unfortunately, I didn't read the part of the fine print that also said that the pass had to be used with a certain number of days from activation. I was admitted to hospital for major surgery after activating my pass, and the studio will not honour any of the remaining classes or any reasonable value of the pass, the owner's response is basically 'it's too bad, there's nothing we can do'. The majority of the time the classes are so full you cannot acquire the position you have reserved and paid for. As well I was not particularly impressed with the owners of the facility, a facade of pretension was notable. I'll save my money and go to a different company in the future. read more

The instructors are good and the variety of classes are good too. The cold lemon grass towels are the best part. It would have been an enjoyable experience if the class sizes were smaller. I've been going for about 4 months and for the last 2 of those months 90% of the time the classes were full days in advance (in all 3 of the afternoon/evening classes they offer), So I wasn't even able to go to a class I was paying for. The classes I did get to go to, I was practicing with people a foot away on either side of me. There is a three month minimum you can pay to get a pretty good rate and I think that was a fair amount of time to get a gauge on it. I'm not sure if it was the time of year (pre-Christmas to post-Newyear) why it was so busy but they did not accommodate for that in any way. So if you don't mind being jammed in a room like sweaty cattle when you actually get to go to a class, this place is good. read more
