The walking component made sure we did not adventure too far and kept us kids active. Sometimes we would go to Yost Pool and swim, sometimes we would walk to the McDonald's on Edmonds Way, and one time we even went to a nearby brewery and got to craft our own Root Beer. It was a fun place to spend time during the summer when I was a child.

He is already looking forward to next year, and to someday being a CIT and a counselor himself. This is an incredible place, with fantastic counselors, and a plethora of fun activities. The place isn't incredible because it's a five-star, fancy establishment. In fact, some parts are downright rustic or rough around the edges. But it's the opportunities the place presents to the lucky kids who get to go there. The chance to enjoy this magical environment where we live, to get to know nature and get to try lots of moderns ways to take play in it. Imagine spending a week exploring indoor activities (ninja gym, soccer and hockey, climbing walls, a skate park, marine biology lessons, a movie room) and outdoor adventures (swimming docks, a zip line into the water, snorkeling, skimboarding, paddleboarding, kayaking, zodiacs, creek walks, field games, campfires, beach combing, getting up close with wildlife (crabs, fish, bioluminescent aquatic creatures, sea lions), a trapeze into the water, a rock climbing wall over the water, high dives, low dives....and wetsuits to enjoy it all in the cool Puget Sound water). The people are a huge part of making it such a special and an amazing experience. Every one of them that we've interacted with--from the newest CITs to the camp director--really care about the kids having a memorable experience. They are fun and kind and a great mix of serious/ensuring safety (from multiple lifeguards to lifejacket use to an overnight dock watch just in case any campers decide to sneak out for a midnight swim) and silly/letting kids escape for a growth week at camp. My son has such a fantastic time hanging out with these great kids, and he really looks up to them and hopes his favorites return each year. I read the review about the young camper being thrown off the mats and pulled by her lifejacket off the paddleboard. I don't know what happened there, but her experience is different than that of the eight kids I know personally and well who have gone over the last two years, four of whom were repeat campers in 2021. In fact, when you ask, "What was your favorite part of camp?" At least half reply, "The green docks," which is code for the games that they play where counselors AND kids throw each other off the docks in the "Ocean Fun Zone." I don't get why that's more fun than zodiac rides, but they love it. And they assure me that no one is forced to play that game--there are "safe zones" on and near the green docks that are sacred, and you don't even have to go out there if you don't want to be part of that game. We are grateful for the memories already made at beach camp, and excited for more fun in the years ahead.

We arrived early to be sure that we could purchase a pass for the 1.5 hour block of leisure swim time. Once we got in, a less than friendly lifeguard walked over and looked right at me and said that I could enter the pool if I had showered first. Not one single person went and showered first and no one else was told to shower. My child was already in the pool. We paid around $13 for 1.5 hours of a very crowded toddler swim area that was about one foot deep.

The deck space for my parents during open swim and swim lessons could be a bit cramped, but partially depended on how many other parents and guardians were present.

My son had an amazing preschool experience at a Montessori school, and was initially hopeful that kindergarten would continue on that trajectory. Unfortunately, after trying a private christian school for kindergarten, I realized it wasn't the right fit and had to pull him out after just 6 weeks. He then went into public school for kindergarten, which was a very disappointing experience. This fall, I started him in another private christian school for first grade, but after just 4 weeks, it was clear it wasn't working out either. I was feeling very lost until a friend recommended Bloom, and it truly felt like God was answering my prayers. From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we'd found our school home. The smaller classroom sizes and strong sense of community at The Bloom Academy are exactly what my son needed. He thrives in a more intimate setting (hugs welcomed), where teachers can focus on his unique needs and guide his learning. The teaching style is exactly what we were looking for it's focused on fostering a love of learning, building character, and encouraging personal growth, not just pushing ahead academically. Unlike other private schools that seemed more concerned with being a year ahead academically, Bloom has helped me realize that the overall learning experience is what truly matters. What really stands out to me is the individualized education plan for each child. This is something I did not find in any other private school and has been such a relief for me as a parent. It's clear that the team at Bloom is dedicated to meeting my son where he is and supporting him in every way possible. My son and I are so grateful to have found Bloom Academy it's been a true blessing, and we couldn't be happier with the care, attention, and education my son is receiving. Our son attends both indoor and outdoor preschool here and the changes in him in the 5 months he's been at Bloom have been nothing short of profound. Miriam and Karen (who I believe are the owners and managers) are both such amazing and inspiring women who genuinely love children and want to see them flourish. Our daughter goes to a great private school in the area that has a reputable preschool program and we chose Bloom over them for several reasons. There hasn't been a day that goes by that we regret our decision, as a matter of fact I wish they taught older students so we could move our daughter here too! (Wishful thinking, I know.) We are particularly fond of 3 out of 4 of his teachers who have been so patient and positive in his life. His teachers are warm, loving, creative and encouraging. He's never enjoyed teachers the way he does here. The teachers have a joy here that I haven't seen in any other preschool/daycare setting. And lastly, the community of kids and parents that surround our son have been so wonderful and warm. People from all different walks of life with the common goals of the best environment for their little ones. Our family feels safe here, we also feel very loved. We are so thankful we chose Bloom!

I had parked next to this building , and had been there for 4…read morehours as I was waiting to get bloodwork done going back and forth( 8 months pregnant mind you) , many workers came in and out and didn't say anything but a very rude man yelled at me ( at hour 4) and said I wasn't allowed to be parked there. I told him I was sorry as the spot wasn't marked reserved. He points to a tiny sign stalls away and says well it says it right there. Well most of the spots say reserved, the one I was in did not. I would never ever send my child to a place that talks to people the way he did over parking in the wrong spot. Can't imagine how they teach the kids in there. 0/10
