Although it is quite a small store it stocks all the essentials and has a decent size carpark but it can often be crowded and had to find a space, especially in the summer. During the winter there is very rarely a queue however during the summer months there are often queues and they can quite often run out of products. The store is located very close to the town centre so it is in a very handy location. Good for a top-up shop but I would find it hard to do my full weekly / monthly shop here.

They give you a generous portion of buttered bread for 70p and a nice portion of mashed peas for 60p. The cod comes with a nice portion of chips. The cod was very fresh. Batter had a very nice taste to it and it was fried until crispy, just perfect if you ask me. The mashed peas were fresh peas, then mashed, you can tell by their taste they did not come out of a can. I ended up stealing my husband's peas because they were that yummy. They have a nice selection of beers on tap. Enjoyed my second fish and chips experience and look forward to going back in the future. This place is also doggie friendly, you will find many owners on doggie dates with their dogs on leads.

If you have to send something back because it's terrible (pro tip: don't order the Steak & Ale pie!) then you'll be greeted with "well you ordered it mate..." To which the waiter lets out a huff and grabs the plates and walks off. Coming back a minute later with the ever polite "what would you like instead?" You give your order and off he goes. He comes back with the replacement food and dumps it on your table, ignoring you when you say thank you, and leaving you to get up and get a new set of knives and forks because he took the others and didn't replace them. If that wasn't enough to put you off, the entire time while we were eating our meal, the waiter devoid of any Customer service skills then proceeds to have a very loud conversation with his colleagues where the entire restaurant can hear, and that is extremely off putting when you're trying to eat, hearing the waiter joke to his friends "I bet I'm not going to get a tip out of them!!" Thankfully I called to book ahead as we got the last reservation for the evening. Having now eaten here I can understand why as it's very popular and with good reason. The menu is fairly extensive and includes lots of local produce from seafood to meats and game. The selection was so great it took us same time to decide what we were going to have. Everything ordered came exactly as we had asked and the food was wonderful. I could say that my starter mushrooms in garlic butter was a bit too generous but for the price it was excellent value. There are a number of different seating areas in the King William IV. It's obviously grown to meet demand. We had a fantastic evening, the staff were very attentive (yet not overbearing in any way). The Manager made it his job to ensure everyone was happy with their food and the service which added a nice personal touch. If we visit this part of the UK in the future we will definitely have another meal the the King William IV
