So our room was the kind with a separate bedroom and a living room with a door in between, so it worked perfectly for us (I like to sleep and my husband is a night owl). The initial booking interaction with the front office manager was excellent, and she went out of her way to make sure we were familiarized with the property, how to get in and out of the coded gate, and where to find our documents/keys, etc. as we were checking in late upon arrival. The cabin was beautiful, if not a tad outdated in the typical "Gatlinburg mountain-style" motif, and was settled nicely by itself without an immediate neighbor, so we felt very comfortable, secluded, and able to fully relax - the ideal weekend getaway environment! Our cabin was a 2 bedroom, 3 bath, fully stocked kitchen with all appliances, dishware, silverware, etc, and a living room area with 2 couches, a lounge chair, including a flat panel with tv access, and all across 2 stories. Everything was very well cleaned, the loft area was beautiful, and even had an in-room whirlpool-jetted tub. Everything they said they'd do, they did. Great service, nice location very close to the Fall Creek Falls State Park, and within 15 mins either way of the nearest town for additional options. The grounds were kept up with flowers planted and an area for a picnic. The back of the property had tables and a covered area to picnic out of the rain. They had a special parking spot for both wounded veterans and one for veterans. Front desk helped with area info. Bed was comfortable. Such a nice nights rest in a scenic area. Close to food. Parking is great for the size of the Inn. There are times where it can get a little full, but there are additional parking spots on campus or at the Hospital nearby. The staff is typically polite and willing to help direct you to your destination. I had a great experience during my stay. The room itself was clean and felt fresh. An opportunity for some of the rooms would be to take a look at the plumbing. My room in particular had slow drainage and the toilet would run for some time after flushing. Luckily the bathroom door was solid enough to block out the running toilet noise when viewing the television. While I did not partake in dinner at Shakerrag (onsite restaurant) this trip, I have had their offerings before for an event at the Inn and it was pretty good. Decent pricing (for Sewanee) as well. Overall it was a good stay and I had a peaceful night at the end of the hall. Not too much foot traffic and easy enough to get around.
