Went to Vaughan for italian sandwiches, but that place closed at 3pm so we ended up missing it and…read moreheaded here instead. Ordered the Anna Rosaria for $13 roughly and it was a tad underwhelming in flavour however the sourdough bread and ingredients were fresh. I ended up buying the Giovanna for the road since I live quite far away and I wouldn't make this drive very often. That one was way better with the spicier sauce and hot supressata. The flavour was explosive and compared to Anna rosaria had a kick. Overall I'd give it 8/10 stars just for the quality of food.

I love the effort put into the branding of the place. The chiller inside near the counter also has a lot of unique beers and ciders you wouldn't typically find available elsewhere. I got a red sour beer, which was surprisingly expensive. It set me back $11.99. The ciders my companions got were more affordable at around the $4 or $5 range. Paying for it, however, took too long. The machine taking payments seemed to be acting up, and waiting took an unacceptable amount of time. There are not a lot of different food options available. One should come to expect that as the place looks like it was intended to be a sandwich shop. I do wish that they at least have more sides available. The Ribeye Steak deluxe sandwich $18.99 I got was good. The bread was a little too crunchy and burnt than what I was used to, but I would just like to think that it is how an authentic Italian sandwich should be prepared.

Review is for customer service & True Believer IPA that I picked up. I didn't really experience…read morethe actual brewery as they were having an Oktoberfest event when I dropped by. Place was quite busy when I stopped by on a random Saturday. I was intending on stopping by for a flight/pint, but the brewery was having an Oktoberfest event, so I just picked up a 4-pack/bottle from their bottle shop. There was a long line since Oktoberfest goers had to get their pours from the same line that I was in. Even though they were busy, the owner (??) did stop by and gave me a quick lowdown on each bottle/can that I picked up. A lot of them seemed to be sours which I do not like, so I'm glad that he told me! Fridge was quite SMALL and dark, adjacent to the bar, so the lighting wasn't the best. Listing of the items could've been more descriptive, eg. IPA, Sour, etc. And you can't buy individual cans, so I had to pickup a 4-pack. I picked up a bottle of Wax Poetic and although fruity, it was a sour. :( I really like True Believer which is an IPA! Although it looks big from the exterior, the bar/bottle shop area is quite small in comparison. I'd definitely stop by again on a regular day.

Short Finger Brewing is a homebrewing supply shop located in Kitchener. It's a bit tucked away on a side street but was pretty easy to find and has a pretty cool setup. They offer everything you could need to turn your kitchen into a beer brewing facility, including the actual brewing equipment including kettles, carboys, funnels, hosing, and everything else one would have to buy, in addition to all the grains, hops and yeasts needed from an ingredient perspective. I was really impressed with their actual walk in freezer used to store hops. So many selections to choose from, and I was also pretty pleased that I managed to find Galaxy hops in stock (sold out at both Toronto homebrew supply shops at the time). The staff are super friendly and willing to give recommendations (I'll be trying a new yeast out this weekend because of them), and they also do things to help the community like events including bottle swaps. As someone who is excited to see the Ontario homebrewing world get bigger, it's good to see a solid shop like this in K-town. While I'm not in the city often anymore, I'll still be making a point to stop in when possible.
