I stopped in early one weekday morning to pick up a pot and potting soil for my office plant. The garden area is so inviting I almost walked out with a brand new plant for my house. Although it was early morning, staff was very present and one of the older gentleman even helped me carry my belongings to the register. Who knew Home Depot had self checkout registers which was super convenient. I got a 5 pound bag of potting soil on sale and to my surprise the pot was also marked down when I scanned it. I don't care which Home Depot I go to, EVERY Home Depot has the worse customer service. I went into the Abercorn location, I could not find a customer service person to save my life. When I finally did, he didn't care to look for what I needed, rather said " we don't sell that anymore" leaving empty handed I went to ACE off the 17. There I found a customer service man that bent over backwards to help me. He found something even better than what I was looking for and I didn't have to hunt him down. Home Depot management, learn from ACE their customer service is awesome and puts you to shame. Their store is cleaner than yours and their employees actually care about their customers. The 3 stars are for Tavaris! He was the only HD employee who would help me! All of the employees were too busy "doing inventory". Customers were not that important. (see photo) Tavaris is pleasant, full of personality and kindness. My employer asked me to stop by HD and pick up a specific toilet for one of his rental homes. I know only one thing about toilets! Tavaris found it, put it on a cart for me and guided thru the checkout and loading. One good employee in that big store! Shameful! Lowe's it is! They help customers! read more

If I could give zero stars, it would be a negative 0. I cannot believe that the only friendly attentive associate at this store was off the clock and headed out the door. I went over to the lumber department to check out some molding. I stayed in that area for over 20 mins and not once did I see an orange apron. There was another customer in the department with me who seemed to know what he was doing and looking for. As I continued to wait and wonder if anyone remotely employed with HMD would see the lost look in my eyes and come to my rescue, but nope! I heard on the loud speaker a call to the lumber department, yet still no one in orange appeared. I was horrified when I saw the sweet man (the fellow customer) who kindly assisted me with his input, take out his measuring tape, pull down a piece of molding himself, get behind the saw mill, take a saw, and CUT HIS OWN PIECE OF WOOD! I was so nervous and worried that he could saw off his finger, but he said that he had no choice because he needed to be back to his construction site and he had already been waiting for over 30 mins. Really, HMD, that is what customer service has become? Do it yourself without workers comp? My next stop was the lighting department. Saw an orange apron who barely nodded his head will he threaded a lamp. Not once time did he verbally say anything to me the entire time he worked on his project. Before I knew, the orange apron had disappeared, and I was left to figure it out alone. I think HMD should consider closing all of its retail stores for a day to adequately review the essence of customers FIRST! I believe these big box stores have grown cold to the people funding the big wheel. read more

I was in need of some concrete colorant and wasn't sure where I might find it in the store. The moment I walked in I was warmly greeted and then directed to aisle 15. Upon inspecting the spot where it was supposed to be I found it empty. I made my way to the front and the girl was extremely helpful. She came down the isle and located some in a new delivery that hasn't been put up yet. She took me back, rang me up and bid me a good day. Then on my way out another guy bid me a great day. It's been a long time since I was catered to in such a friendly helpful way. Great job!!!! Will keep my business at Home Depot. read more

The good news is you have some really nice, helpful employees in the store. I was in there a few weeks ago and was purchasing a garbage disposal. I started in the cleaning section because I also needed some carpet shampoo. After an associate helped me in that area, she actually walked me to the garbage disposal section. She didn't know a lot about garbage disposal's so she found someone to help me. All the Home Depot associates we have encountered since we started shopping at this store have been more than helpful. Today I was shopping in the garden section. We purchased 38, 12 x 12 paving stones, 3 large bags of organic soil and 4 bags of sand. Kell, the cashier realized it was obvious we would need help. With out being asked, Kell said "let me call to get someone to help you". I Thanked her. I stood their waiting for a few minutes after we paid for our items for Kell to locate help. Pretty soon, I pointed to our truck which was parked right across from the Garden Center. I told Kell we would start loading the truck and ask her to direct anyone who came to help over to our truck. As I was walking to the truck a man dressed in a Home Depot vest crossed my path. I ask him if he could help. By the way, I didn't mention I'm a senior citizen. The man responded that the cashier could get me some help, told me to pull my truck up in front of the Garden Center entrance and kept walking. About the same time, this young man popped out of no where. He said, "ma'am, I don't work here but I'd be happy to help load your truck. He followed me to the truck, jumped in the truck bed and went about loading the truck. No one ever showed up from Home Depot to assist. When the young man that offered to help us finished, I thanked him, gave him $20 bucks and told him to buy himself a nice lunch. Turns out the man (Home Depot Employee) that was too busy to help us was named Ernest. I'm told he's one of the Garden Managers. Too bad.....I was in middle management with a Fortune 500 company for 38 years and I never thought I was so good that I couldn't stop and help a customer. You get a big F for the day Ernest. Looks like your employees are setting the bar for what great customer service is because you're surely not. read more

Several months ago I ordered 2 exterior doors and a storm door for my home. I was told to contact Liz for any updates and problems that might arise. My doors were finally installed except for the molding which was supposed to be replaced. The installer left all of the new molding in a pile in the middle of my driveway. I'm a 74 year old disabled Vietnam veteran and I had to move the molding before it got ruined by the elements near the Georgia coast. After several days of trying to reach Liz I had to load the molding and return it to Home Depot ob Abercorn St in Savannah, Ga. I'm still trying to get the storm door installed correctly, but all my calls fall on deaf ears. At this point I'm paying for something that I can't get full use out of. Will never be shopping at Home Depot again. Was scheduled to have an appliance delivered, they called me the day prior to confirm the appointment (which I did). Later that day I found a blank slip that said "we stopped by today" left on my door. No time was noted or anything on this slip. I called the Home Depot Call Center who stated they called my fiancé (they called under a spam number & never left a voicemail) while he was at work. And the woman mentioned they "took a picture knocking on your door"...... No one ever called me to let me know they were on the way or there. The doorbell was never rung. Getting an appliance delivery rescheduled was a whole other issue. Will definitely never be shopping at Home Depot ever again. Update on Home Depot fiasco.... Spoke to multiple people yesterday trying to get situation resolved. Spoke to a woman who stated she could get it rescheduled for the following day. Received an email stated we were all set for delivery on the following day (however with no time windows). I called Home Depot on the day of delivery who stated that the woman who set this up with incorrect & we would not be getting the delivery today & the earlier delivery date was in 2 weeks.... Great location for a Home Depot in a town. It is a halfway point between the Suburbs and Downtown. I stop here almost once a week and as the chain is they have it all. We have all been to a Home Depot, so how can I surprise you? Well the Propane replacement here is about the cheapest around. They even offer discounts to Military, and the others that normally get one. Plenty of parking as the other shops that are in the shopping complex are separated from HD. The staff I have always encountered have been good so far. I will continue to use the Home Depot at this location. read more

My wife and I came to this Home Depot to consider getting new hard countertops for our house that we are about to sell. The lady who helped us was extremely sweet and polite however she made an error that changed the price of the job by thousands of dollars. That could have been overlooked for at least a four-star review. My main two reasons for two stars are as follows: 1) We were charged $200 for to have our countertops measured. Now, this would have been absorbed by the cost of the job, but when the job was canceled this fee was not refunded. I understand the cost to go out and measure, but there's also a cost for businesses to do business. No other countertop store that I'm aware of charges $200 to come out to earn your business. 2) The second reason is that when all the errors were mended and we got good quotes, granite countertops were within 10% of competitors in the area. Quartz, on the other hand, was much more. Almost two times as much and that was at their lowest possible price. 3) I lied. There's a third reason why only two stars. That $200 measurement job I paid for? I was not even entitled to a copy of. According to Home Depot, it's against their policy. I paid for it. Another Home Depot that I talked to about my experience at this store told me that that was not a Home Depot policy. Anyway, there's a lot of appeal to going to Home Depot to get several jobs done and to be able to pay for it on the Home Depot credit card. However, do your due diligence and get some quotes from people who don't charge first. read more

I got what I was looking for although I have to say this, the service is crap. I'm not sure how many people suppose to be on the floor early in the morning but I didn't get any help from anyone. I guess when your looking around for so long then they want to come help you. Anyways I had to purchase an insulation foam board for crafting and it was so hard to carry and so I looked for those cart things to push it in I could not find one near by because the buggy was not helping and then found a cart but it was not suitable for the thing I was carrying. With that being said I would have had to go all the way to the front and ask for one which by the way they should have a couple of those carts near or on the same isle as the styrofoam boards which makes more since. When ever you go just make sure you have one before you purchase from the lumber department. read more

I was pleasantly surprised that The Home Depot carries a good selection of networking tools. In the electrical aisle, I found RJ-45 crimpers, Cat5 cable, coaxial cable, and wire tracking tools. Though they don't carry the more high-end products, the selection offered is enough for most network installation jobs. read more

Don't buy an appliance from the Home Depot in Savannah. If you do, don't have them deliver. They had scheduled a delivery on Tuesday between 2 and 6pm. By 9pm that night, I connected with someone in their help system who told me the driver had gone home at 6pm. A supervisor in dispatch asked for a second chance. Except now, they scheduled me for today, between 3 and 7pm. Guess what did not happen? I've wasted two days. I've also wasted weeks I could have gone with another company. Home Depot will never get another dime of business from me. They have lost a good customer. read more

Home Depot no longer cuts glass. Apparently that's because they're interested in providing every service you need as a homeowner as long as there's quick easy unskilled money involved for them. When they first hit the market they prided themselves and having a tradesman in every department that was an expert in his field. Apparently they can't find anybody for seven dollars an hour that can cut a piece of glass without losing an eye. So I guess for the smaller "pain in the butt" needs that homeowners have they want you to go to the old-school smaller hardware stores that they're trying so desperately to put out of business? read more

The absolute worst customer service! Several employees standing around, but no one to help me purchase a large item. Finally, got thru the lengthy process of checking out with my large item. Needed help loading it in the truck I just rented from Home Depot.. Very long very frustrating story about this process. Too long to bother writing all the details, but I will tell you that it took exactly 48 minutes to find someone to help me and get them mission accomplished. This is unacceptable! This store is clearly does not care about offering good customer service to their customers -in the future I will take my business elsewhere and I would advise you to do the same! read more

Once again Home Depot has managed to make my life harder. I come in and get a curb side pick up, I ordered the wrong item and walk inside to the returns to let them know. My 56 year old father goes out of his way to get these items the most responsible way possible by leaving the other can at returns to come back to. He said "that can is mine I want to exchange these" the woman ignored him and kept saying "over her sir" with an eye roll. The other woman we had told, tapped the rude woman and handed her the can. She then realized she was being rude and started to speak to use nicer. I father again mentions "I want to exchange these cans today, I just got the order as curb side. Nothing is wrong with the produce just the wrong color". The returns woman continues to ask him what he wants and he repeats himself. She then runs the return and hands him a receipt and asks him to pay. We are both confused considering we were exchanging items. This woman had no idea what she was doing or just didn't care. She returned the money to the original payment method and now we have to pay out of pocket again. Not only does my poor father have to wait 7-10 business days starting in 3 days since this happened in the start of the weekend, he now has to run his card multiple times. It was a huge inconvenience and we just want to make it easier, quick and simple. This is my final time going to Home Depot. I will not be a Lowe's customer. read more

I love this Home Depot. I always find someone who knows far more about my project than I do and they have truly helpful advise to make my life easier. I picked up my online order as promised and it was ready and waiting at the desk unless the wait I had at Lowes for more than half an hour. I used to go to Lowes first (they are in the same shopping center near my home) but now I stop first at Home Depot. I really like the self checkout aisle as these days only one line is likely to be open. Constantly updated products keep me coming back. My only minor complaint is that the garden center rarely stocks anything but the most common plants, though even those are at really great low prices. Well done Home Depot!!! read more

Went to this home depot today (black friday 2015) to get an air compressor for my husband Christmas gift. Randy helped me get a cart and load it on, even put back the first one I load in a cart for me. At check out Andrea was the best. She joked around for a minute with me which made me smile, then she held the compressor for me as I want to get my truck, while I got the truck she found some to help me load it. Which I thought this girl just went out of her way for me and she didn't need to on black Friday. I thought wow! Wonderful service and on black Friday a super busy day for retailor. read more

I was looking for a particular air purifier and saw the one I wanted at Home Depot on Abercorn. On the Home Depot website, the item was listed at $213, but in the store it was listed at $249. I asked an employee in that department if there was a difference in the one online vs the one in the store and he told me no, just take the purifier to customer service and they would adjust the price. When I got to customer service, the three women at the desk told me they don't "price match." I explained (and showed them) that the price on the Home Depot website was $213. Then they tried to tell me the purifier was not the same as on the website. I asked them to show me what was different so I would know. They couldn't show me the difference because it was the exact same item. Then they told me that in order to get the $213 price I had to go home, order the item on line, have it shipped to the store, wait for it to arrive, then come back and pick it up. Ridiculous! The only reason I give this store 2 stars is because the man who told me to take the purifier to Customer Service was friendly and helped me load the item onto a cart. Customer Service deserves 0 stars. I took the advice from Customer Service and ordered the unit online--from AMAZON! Sorry, Home Depot, you need to step up your game. read more

I always go to Home Depot, although I am beginning to shop at lowes because of this location. I brought my lawn mower in to get a quote to fix it. When they called back, they told me that it would cost $230 to fix the lawn mower. I told them no because I can just buy a new one for that much. When I picked up the lawn mower, they charged me $25 for the quote, plus $89 to fix the lawn mower. They have a hidden clause that states that they will fix the first $100 on the mower regardless of if you want it done or not. There is no point in paying $25 to get a quote when they are going to get $100 out of you anyway. What a corporate scam. And what terrible management for being so rude. read more

The staff is unavailable, unknowlegeable (save 1 in gardening and 1 in tools), and totally uncaring. While working on a larger project, we decided to go to Guerry Lumber regardless of the cost (about the same and Great service). Contractor desk was a nightmare with which to work. When it finally showed up, it was the wrong door. Completely different color and size. The contractor was nice about it and came back with the correct one 2 weeks later. John was up front and let me know the charges for delivery & said he was sure it would fit in my car. The cashier said she would call someone. "Who does that" . (It's long and it's absurd) Beyond rude and incompetent! They were repairing our lawnmower, which they said would take 2 weeks, I called 3 weeks later for them to tell me that they didn't know where it was. It's been 6 weeks now and I have gone back and forth with them multiple times a week trying to figure out where it is. First I was just getting straight 'I don't know where you're mower is' and then I got a 2 minute voicemail explaining that they couldn't get the shipping door open and that's why they didn't have my mower... I then finally spoke with the manager who told me that is ridiculous and he doesn't know why they would give me that excuse. He told me he would make some phone calls and figure things out for me and call me back. He never called me back. I left him a message and, again, he did not call back. I get ahold of another employee (this is all going through the Tool Rental section) the next day who told me it is shipping back from McDonough after being repaired for bad gas in the carburetor (mind you, that's not possible considering it was only a couple of months old and had only been used twice when it decided not to start one day and my husband had taken apart the carburetor and there was NO gas in it, but anyways..). We never even knew that they had shipped our mower off to begin with, and now it'll be 7-15 days to get it back (5 weeks in at this point). So since they haven't called me once to give me any updates I figured I would have to be doing all of the calling to check in, like I have been. Today I called to check in on it (it's been 6 days since I last called) and the man who answered first complained about my kids making noise in the background, then upon hearing my last name he put the phone down and started to complain to another employee about how often I have been calling about a 'stupid mower', the rest was mumbled but I guess he realized that he didn't have me on hold and immediately transfered me to a manager without saying a word to me. Once I speak with the manager, Keith, who was helpful and polite and said that he would take care of the situation with the rude employee (he's lucky I wasn't there in person honestly, I was fuming), informed me that yes, they had my mower and I could pick it up and that the employee who was rude to me- his name was Kelly. So a heads up, if you ever need something repaired - DON'T rely on Home Depot. They do not provide updates, are rude when you have to ask where your equipment is for 5 weeks and then feed you lies to get off the phone. Also, after speaking with corporate, they have confirmed that they should have never told me it would be ready in 2 weeks to begin with. So, thanks Home Depot, for costing us in Lawncare and my sanity. read more

I've always been pleased with my experience at this Home Depot location; however, today topped them all due to the amazing customer service my husband and I received from Paris. I was buying lumbar for a DIY build and needed help selecting the right wood and also needed a few cuts in order for the lumbar to fit in my vehicle. She took her time to ensure I found everything I needed and was careful in meeting my "cut" needs. I wish I could give a rating of 10 stars instead of just 5 as this Home Depot far exceeds the mark in customer care. read more

We bounce between this store and lowe's depending on what we're looking for, but today was bad enough to make us stick with lowe's. We went to Home Depot to buy some lumbar for a project and it was fine until we went to check out. An employee named Jodi was our cashier and got frustrated that the wood we chose did not have a UPC code that was put into the computer correctly (she'd have to look up the description of the product instead, but never thought to do so). She was YELLING at two other cashiers to come assist her, even though they were helping other customers. It went on for a long time and she got madder as it progressed. We were standing there with small children and she still looked at us and yelled "I don't have time for this shit!" If an employee is on the clock, they have time to do their job and they can do it in a professional manner. This cashier treated us like we were unwelcome and an inconvenience as well as treated her fellow coworkers poorly in front of an entire line of people. None of the other employees ever thought to calm her or the situation down. After 15 minutes she got the lumbar rang up and my husband told her that he had a coupon; Jodi had another meltdown and started yelling at other cashiers because she didn't know how to handle it. Thank god we didn't ask for a military discount, she would have had a conniption. If this is the level of training and professionalism we can expect here, we'd rather go to lowe's. read more
