I purchased a washer and dryer from the Home Depot store in Olean, NY on 5/16/21. I paid $1425.65. They were scheduled to be delivered by Home Depot's third party delivery company by the name of "Spirit" on 7/22/21. Home Depot called the day before to say they'd deliver between 10am and 2pm on 7/22/21. I called Home Depot several times on 7/22 to get an ETA and every time I was told things like "It is out for delivery" and "The driver has two more stops then he'll be there". By 3:15pm when there was no sign of the delivery and no call from Home Depot, I called them and was told that the driver had skipped my delivery and they didn't know why and he wasn't answering his phone. Home Depot rescheduled the delivery for 7/26/21, the soonest they said they could deliver. They never called to confirm the delivery the day before or the day of. I called them several times on 7/26 and each time they promised they were out for delivery. The driver never showed up and once again, no one from Spirit or Home Depot contacted me. I called Home Depot and was told that the soonest they could deliver would be 8/12/21. The driver put in his notes that the customer (me) was the one that kept rescheduling and that's why I never received my delivery. By then I had had enough. I told them to cancel the order and issue me a refund. I went to the Home Depot store in Olean, NY to talk to a manager and get my refund. They would only refund me $82.52, the cost of the hoses, power cord, and dryer duct. I was told that they couldn't override the system. On 7/27/21, I called Home Depot and was told that they can't issue a refund until the delivery company returns the items to Home Depot. Home Depot told me that customers can claim that they never received the delivery when, in fact they had, and get a refund. Home Depot is accusing me of being the dishonest one in this whole debacle. They said it takes 7-10 days. I've made numerous calls to Home Depot trying to get my refund and each time I've been given a different excuse and timeline. On Monday, 8/9/21, we called the local Home Depot and was told there was an IT issue (this is a standard excuse used by many companies) and they hadn't been able to issue my refund. I would never have known that they were making no move to refund me if I hadn't called and forced them to figure out why I hadn't been refunded yet. They told me they were putting in a ticket for IT to fix it then they could refund me. It is now 8/11/21 and there's been no call from Home Depot and no refund issued. I called Home Depot AGAIN and of course the two people I spoke with on 8/9 are out to lunch and not in yet. It's been one excuse after another and I trust nothing that Home Depot says. Issue me my refund for $1343.13 for the items I never received due to Home Depot's incompetence and then you figure out on your end how to fix your records. I should not be held hostage because your system doesn't work. I should be compensated for all of the phone calls I've made to Home Depot and the hours I've sat on hold. I should be compensated for the numerous 32 mile round trips I've made to Home Depot in Olean, NY trying to resolve this situation. They "opened a case" with IT 48 hours ago and IT has not " fixed the issue". The IT case number is INC26054404. Why do I have to wait even one more day to get my money back? I work in retail and if a refund is issued today, it processes tonight and I'll see it on my credit card in the morning. This is why I don't believe Home Depot. We told Leanne to issue us a cash refund and she's telling us that the Home Depot store does not have that much cash on hand...they don't have $1400 in the store? I am a veteran of the US Army and the store advertises they give veterans discounts. My wife and I were in the Olean store #6161 to buy supplies for some projects. We planned in the future spending a couple thousand dollars on kitchen cabinets. At the checkout I presented my veteran identification card for the discount. The cashier told me that my ID wasn't the right ID that a veteran would have. I asked her to call the manager over. When the manager arrived the two of them talked for a couple seconds and the manager didn't ask to see my card. She immediately said that my ID wasn't real. I was embarrassed and felt a disrespect like I have never felt. I will not shop at this store ever again. read more

Run as fast and far away from this Home Depot as you can! I did an in store special order carpet, not only was it a week late coming in but they did not calculate my measurements correctly so it was almost 2 feet short!! I should have guessed because the "KID" that took my order didn't know how to calculate feet into square yards. He had to call 2 other people and they thought they did it right. This is the second time they have messed up my carpet orders. They also messed up my kitchen cabinet order 2 years ago. This store is full of unknowledgeable, unskilled, minimum wage, off the street employees. They are NOT professionals by any means and can't even answer the simplest questions about small items! It is very obvious they simply don't care about the customer or their job performance!. read more

I wanted to build a hinged ramp for my dog to get up and down my bed but wasn't sure what kind of wood and hinges would be best. Andrew was awesome, not only did he direct me to the items I needed but he also helped cut the wood and put the hinges on for me too. So very grateful for his assistance. My husband sent me with a 10 item electrical list even including 10 foot conduit pipe/s. I had to wait a few minutes for someone to help me but when Dan came he never batted an eye at my list and one by one he completely helped me get all the items. Took me to the register and even helped me secure the load in the truck. Went in to purchase a John Deere tractor. As we went to cash out my husband handed the cashier his Veterans Affair issued photo ID card to get the discount they pride themselves on that they offer. We were refused. It is not an acceptable form or id in their eyes. They offer a "military" discount, not a "veterans" discount. Isn't it lovely that they can put stipulations on the men and women who have served this country of ours???? Very ignorant and the sad part is is that no one seemed to care. Not the cashier, manager or headquarters. They lost a $2000.00 sale and our business for life. You would think they would try and make it right for a veteran. Another issue was we were looking for patio blinds. When we asked an associate about them he says "I haven't seen any, don't think we have them." Didn't make an extra effort to look or maybe ask someone else. Just blew us off (this was before the tractor incident) So, buyer beware...unless you have 20 years in retired, retired disabled or are active duty you will NOT get the discount. Horrible experience - DO NOT TRUST their "Pro's" and NEVER order anything custom through them. I sat down with their "Pro" to find a solution for the closet doors in my house. 2 weeks and over $600 later, when the order arrived, nothing was right. I had to call repeatedly because Nina who was supposed to be handling it, never returned my calls. When I tracked her down the customer service continued to be atrocious but eventually I reordered the doors. 3 weeks go by and nothing, so I call and call and I never did hear back from the store manager Zane Garmin. I finally get Nina and she tells me the order was automatically cancelled by the manufacturer because they had already delivered what was ordered. Now 6 weeks after the original order was placed, they are willing to replace the order after I have returned the original doors and I have to pay a 15% restocking fee. I found this unacceptable as it wasn't my or the manufacturers fault. I will never shop at another HomeDepot ever - no accountability with these big box stores. Buy Local my friends! read more

Sadly I can not give a negative star. Every time I shop here I am racially profiled and it is getting out of hand. If I walk in those doors it is to purchase something I am a paying customer and should be treated as such. Asking someone once if they need help is acceptable. Having three or 4 employees confront you while shopping is obnoxious. I am contacting your cooperate office human resource department to perhaps shed some light on the discrimination I experience every time I step in those doors. Further more the next time someone decides to "ask" me for help or hide at the end of an isle I am going to request them to push my cart throughout the store until I am done shopping so they can at least do something productive and not waste company time. read more

Home depot had a free water sample station set up. I took one and filled it out. Next thing I know a guy from Rainsoft is contacting me because the results stated that our well water was awful. I agreed to have him come in and test the water again. He did and gave an amazing sales pitch. Also adding that Rainsoft is backed by Home Depot and that is why the sample station was set up. We wanted cleaner water that you could actually drink so we agreed to purchase the system. He even offered it through the home depot consumer card with 0% financing for two years, which is what we did. Two days later he sent a crew to install it. The estimated time for the crew to show up was 12-2pm. I had to leave work to be there, and the crew did not show up until 3pm. The salesman took notes during his initial visit about moving the hot water tank to put the receiver tank there. He also stated he would be back within 2 weeks to test the water with the system, this was the beginning of May 2015. The crew never moved the hot water tank. The salesman has not been back yet and it is mid July. We have called him and he assured us he would be out and make it right, that was in June. He has not been back or contacted us since. He has however called our neighbor five times about selling them the system, with Home Depot's backing. Thoroughly not impressed with the salesman, the customer service, the performance, or the support that Home Depot has provided and promoted through the free sample station. The water is much cleaner now and actually able to drink but still goes through a Britain filter. Please be advised before doing the sample or considering purchasing this system! read more
