Be very wary of having installation for exterior doors. After we bought multiple doors and paid for installation we notice another amount over $300. I asked what that was and was told it was just in case the door people have to fix or repair dry wall. We were told that we could request this money back from installers so we called multiple times, but could not get a response. When we didn't get response called home depot for help getting money back. Received a prompt call back but still have not gotten refund. I assume that because the installers weren't able to get additional payments from clients they just tack this on to everyone now but don't make good when they do not have to mess with dry wall. I hope it is not them trying to take advantage of old people. I need my money back. read more

First time of the season to shopping for flowers. Price there is about the same as other places. My allergies has been bad but that did not discourage me to shop. Love seeing flowers and plants. Asked about a geranium price, the lady had to ask another lady then that lady had to ask another lady. Ok, no problem. Continue with my shopping, a guy kept blowing leaves and debris around. Ugh! I went in for some larger plywood and needed it cut down to size. The employee supposed to be working lumber was nowhere to be found for at least an hour. Joe (who said he was a new transfer) went out of his way to help everyone I saw him cross paths with; myself included. Joe and Martin seemed like they were running that half of the store. Unhelpful, poorly-stocked, and about 50% of employees don't follow posted safety protocols. It's a bunch of trying-but-don't-know-much college students and entitled-but-dangerous-ratlicking-boomers there. I've now walked out and not purchased twice because it was more anxiety-inducing to shop there than to actually build the thing I'd intended. Home Depot has never been so much fun. Recently in house number 2 and ready to start some much needed renovations. We have been working with David in the custom kitchens trying to work out a good configuration and setup for our new kitchen. He has been so great to work with, very knowledgeable and friendly. Always I'm complaining that Lowe's is full of rude workers and I can't ever get someone that is friendly and efficient. We went to The Home Depot today, Jeff who worked in the appliance section was so friendly and we were in and out, ordered a new fridge and got it scheduled for delivery. I was excited to get new countertops--needed them for years and finally went in, chose a countertop sample that I liked, paid in full, and waited. On the day of the installation, I thought the installers handled the counter with greasy, dirty hands because there were black smudges in random places, mostly on the edges. They said it's part of the material. That is the same story I'm getting from the local Home Depot management, the Corporate level management (who now won't even reply to emails). These black marks were definitely NOT in the sample I chose. I understand there may be a little variation in color, but these are absolutely awful. Nobody would want a counter with these random black smudges on it. I was told that it matches the manufacturers specifications...I don't care. It is not what I saw in the store and paid for. $3000 is a lot of money to me and not a drop in the bucket for Home Depot. They're telling me too bad--they aren't going to do thing about it. read more

With not enough tile in stock, we were told we would have to make trips to multiple Home Depot's to pick up the additional pieces needed. They refuse to do store to store, yet employees on the floor and customer service desk made comments otherwise. Frustrating experience within the store that makes me want to not want to continue doing business there. Please create policies and communicate them to all your employees, so that situations like this can be avoided. read more

Out of all the home improvement store in bloomington normal. I went into lowes and menards to make a purchase and I couldn't find anybody in the stores to help me. I walked past employees and they ignored me. I then went to home depot and was greeted when I walked in the store. I was asked several times by different employees if I could be helped. It was nice to see that a company cares about their customers. read more

Had a great experience with in store purchase of a riding lawn mower. Had a horrible experience with an online order, only half of our order was delivered, it took almost 2 months to correct it, after a couple of weeks and lots of phone calls they did offer a 10% discount for the hassle. Took a few weeks but the rest of our order finally arrived. read more
