On 3/8, My husband went in to order carpets. His order was 3 cuts of carpet of the same color, and 1 cut of a different color. He was helped by 2 younger adults, and then a Manager name "Linda". Since this is considered a custom Carpet there is no refund, We order this understanding that HOME DEPOT would also meet their criteria. Wednesday 3/11 AM, we get a phone call " Sorry , your order is too big to delivery and you have to pick up? Can someone explain to me how can we pick it up ourselves if the order is too big for them to deliver it? PLEASE? 3/11 My husband calls, they say " Oh let just wait until it gets here - NO communication- whatsoever 3/13, My husband decides to stop into the store to speak with someone. We spoke to the worker at the carpet area, he calls for the Manage on Duty and we speak about the whole situation and he shrugs his shoulders like he can careless, Which annoyed the crap out of me! we, then were told they will have someone contact us. "LINDA" or Jennifer" told us the turn around time would be quick. 1. We get there and find out our oder has been changed from delivery to pick up Today is Monday 3/16- We have received no PHONE CALL, my husband calls and finds out : "JENNIFER" no longer works there!! WTH .. What kind of crap is this. He wanted to speak to a manage right away and was told "OH they are all in a meeting" they will call him BACK ! it has been a WEEK and NO ONE has called us BACK. We are done being nice! SERIOUSLY Please give us our money back! stop stealing PEOPLE MONEY, stop taking advantage of PEOPLE!!! I just want to say, First and foremost my husband and I have been nothing but nice about everything, We have been patient and HOME DEPOT's management TEAM have been nothing but Disrespectful and liars. You know maybe, if the MANAGER LINDA LEE, spent less time complaining about her worker to my husband she would have maybe did his order correctly and we would not be in this situation.. So unprofessional for her to tell him how stupid and incompetent the other 2 worker were that didn't help him correctly. WELL, LINDA you also did not help us properly and now we have lost $3800 dollars and HOME DEPOT won't call us BACK.. All I have to say is you guys need to make this RIGHT........ I ordered a refridgerator on black friday and this has been the worst experience i've ever had with an online purchase. I chose Monday, December 1st as the delivery day, as that was the only option. I took a day off of work to be home for the delivery, and scheduled a junk hauler to remove my old fridge same day in preparation. I received a text it would arrive between 7 am and 11 am the night before. December 1st no one showed up or called me about a delay in delivery. I called Home Depot around 1 pm, spoke to a woman, and she claimed there was a truck issue at the warehouse. This was no excuse for not getting any sort of notification or phone call. She said I had to wait until 8 pm in case the delivery truck driver was running behind. No one showed up. I called the next day and spoke to Christine and she could not tell me why it never showed up. She was the only kind and apologetic customer service rep I spoke to this whole time. She offered me $160 off and free install, then rescheduled the delivery for the 5th, said I would get a call to confirm later that day. I once again did not receive a call. I took the day off yet again to be at my house on the 5th and no one showed up. I called and spoke to Kensie.. Kensie should not be in customer service. She is awful and rude. She is short tempered and a liar. She said the warehouse promised to deliver my fridge on the 6th. I asked her to send me an email with the transcript from our call and she said she would. She never did. I cancelled my plans for the 6th and stayed home. Yet again, my fridge was not delivered. I called again and spoke to Mark, he said they added a crew to work on sunday the 7th to deliver orders that were delayed just like mine. He also refunded me shipping costs of about $80. Sunday rolls around and I still did not get my fridge. I called and they said it would be delivered on Monday and they were confused why I was told it would be delivered Sunday as the delivery company is not open on Sundays. I Once Again took the morning off to be home within the delivery window I was given and no one showed up. I called Home Depot and spoke to Santiago. He called the warehouse and had me on hold for over an hour. He could not get ahold of the warehouse and told me there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to a Manager and spoke with Juaquin. He tried to call over to the warehouse but could mot get through. He opened a ticket for me and said he would reach out within 2 hours with an update. He never called me again. Cut to Tuesday the 9th at 4:28 pm I received an email saying my order was lost and they refunded rhe remainder of my money. No call, no offer to ship a new fridge, nothing but a 15% off promise. As if that makes up for not having a refridgerator for 9 days. I plan to dispute all of this and get the fridge I originally purchased at the black friday price, with the $160 dollars off and free shipping plus install like I was promised. This whole ordeal is outrageous and I will never shop at home depot again. They have the worst customer service I have ever dealth with. Do Not Give Home Depot Your Money. read more

Appalling customer service, complete disregard for safety and zero accountability for their mistakes. I ordered an induction cooktop from Home Depot, choosing them because they had the quickest delivery date, and I was up against a deadline when I am hosting family from overseas and absolutely need a functioning kitchen . Installation was not an option through them so I intended to hire an electrician to install the unit. At the time of delivery, one of the delivery people picked the unit up by a thin, white, plastic strap with one hand, and dangled it off the back of the truck- the other delivery person was nowhere near him, so when the thin strap snapped, the unit crashed to the ground. A simple google search shows that even though a dropped unit may look undamaged on the outside, interior components may be damaged and pose safety risks. Instead of apologizing and sending a replacement unit, I had to spend 4+ hours with an AI chat Bot trying to get this mistake corrected. Home Depot thought that I should still install the dropped unit, and that if the unit was broken, I would need to pay the electrician to remove the broken unit and to reinstall a replacement at a later date. Additionally, I would need the dropped unit to be installed within 48 hours, otherwise Home Depot would not take it back at all, and I would need do deal directly with the manufacturer. It took 4 hours, and I was disconnected from the "customer service" rep multiple times, and had to go back to square 1, entering the zip code, phone number, name, address, email address, order number ect... and reexplaining the circumstances multiple times. I spend an entire morning doing this, and missed over 4 hours of work. Finally they agreed to send a replacement, but this wouldn't be delivered until Saturday, (it was Tuesday), and they couldn't give me a delivery window until the day before. I requested a note on my account for a morning delivery window. They were unable to send me any written confirmation about the replacement unit, and by Friday night, I still hadn't heard anything about a new delivery window. I had to spend another hour with the AI chat bot to finally get notified of my delivery window, 3-7pm on Saturday. I was told I would be called when the driver was 30 minutes out. This didn't happen. I was notified when they were 10 minutes out. Then, they proceeded to deliver a box that was completely mangled. When I unboxed the "new" replacement unit, a piece that is supposed to be flat was warped into the shape of a rainbow. So, back to the AI chat bot to waste more hours of time, while Home Depot dodges accountability for their greedy, dangerous actions. I requested them to pick up the garbage damaged unit immediately, and issue a refund as I am exhausted from dealing with their "customer service" and have zero confidence that they can provide me with a new, undamaged unit. They won't pick the unit up for another WEEK, and refuse to issue a refund for the item until they pick it up. So, now, I have 3,000+ tied up with them and can't purchase a new unit until sometime after 6/26 (who knows when the money will actually hit my account- I suspect I will need to spend hours with a chat bot for that to happen)... and my family comes of 6/29 so this leaves me with basically no time to sort this out, and no ability to cook food while my family is here visiting. I will never shop at Home Depot again. They are greedy assholes, and they don't give a FUCK about their customers, and they completely disregard safety issues. There are other matters in which home depot seems to be OK, but in the matter of delivery and installatiof gas appliances. They are a colossal, epic failure. I ordered a gas range. For a rental property. I thought in order to simplify things. I would include installation and haul away. I have done similar things with electronic appliances. And they aren't too bad, but in this case, They not only achieved failure but epic failure. First, they gave me a date which they would deliver and install the product. I took time off of work so I could sit around for 4 hours waiting for someone. Not fun, especially since I had to get up extra early to arrive at the rental property at 7 AM. But it is what it is. I get all of my ducks in a row.And then they tell me they've moved there delivery day to the next day, so I have to take another day off of work And again, I need to be there at 7. This time they actually arrive and deliver. But the delivery guy can't hook up the gas line. Because of the zip code we're in. He was surprised I'm not sure why he was surprised they were delivering the product. They had the zip code. Why is it surprising that you are where you are? I don't know. He said they would have to send someone else to connect with the gas light. I said oh later today. Oh goodness, no, not to day Tomorrow. If I could just arrive there at 7 AM and wait. I explained that I burnt most of my vacation now Waiting for this, He apologized. I asked if there was any way they could get someone out on the same day. I know stuff happens. No, they couldn't. There would be no way to do it on the same day. Don't be silly So I get to burn yet another vacation day. At this point, I'm just shy of a $1000. In time to install it $400 appliance. All because no one at home.Depot apparently has any concept of logistics?Or any respect for their consumer. Or I expect there employees. This is about online ordering at home depot. I ordered an entire kitchen that was time sensitive.... I placed the order and then paid for the order. 3 DAYS LATER I got a notice that the order was cancelled... No reason for the cancellation nothing. Just that it was cancelled. I tried to order it again and I had to go through the whole process to get the order place. The problem is that the link on the original order entered my order for the wrong store. I called to get it fixed and was told that I had to wait a few days to re-order because first it had to be cancelled and then re-ordered and the order could not be cancelled for at least another day or two. The home depot system that is supposed to help you get things delivered to the store for pickup is so flawed that it is putting my project behind over a week. Whatever you do don't use the online system. It is horrible and the people at homedepot.com are not helpful at all. read more

Almost had a washer delivered this three days ago. A very rude and obnoxious liked to yell a lot, delivery man. I told him I did not appreciate his bad attitude. He apparently did not like my comment and got in his truck and drove away with my washer still in his truck. I called the store to complain and to cancel my order of an LG Washer & Dryer. I told the associate wanted the store manager to call me. Three days now no call from the manager. I went to Best Buy and my new LG Washer & Dryer will be here Friday. I am handicapped cannot speak, I went there for several supplies for a project, i had to speak to several employees each one was super helpful, I mean super and took the time needed to be thourgh amazing go there if you need help and I needed something delivered. they said they could drop it on the sidewalk, it was very large, but they brought it in for me and were early. they were so nice. I recomment them anytime, a girl named Dakota went out of her way to help me with everything, excellent. excellent. read more

Chain review disclaimer: I won't do 'em. You can't make me. Well, ok. Yes, you can. But not easily. I've sworn off chain reviews because chains are supposed to be the same wherever you go. That's the beauty of a chain. So I'll only do a review if there is something out of the norm for a chain, or the particular location. This will happen if there is something unique, if they are extraordinarily good, or extraordinarily bad. Home Depot sells home improvement supplies. Yeah, I know. Big deal. The reason I'm writing a review about them is because they have a free kid's workshop on the first Saturday of every month. They give you a kit with pieces of wood cut to shape and several nails and/or screws that you can build right in the store. They have an area with hammers, screwdrivers, and glue for you to spend a few minutes with your kid putting together the kit. (They can do it. You can help.) They even give the kids a Home Depot apron with their name on it, and a pin when their finished with their project. The kits vary from month to month. You can build things like planters, stools, birdhouses, and cars. One month they had a storage box that looked like a castle. That one was really cool. We go almost every month and Frank, the guy in charge of the workshop at this particular store, is a really nice guy. The previous lady in charge even knew my kids' names, but she retired about a year ago. The workshop has become so popular at this location, they do it again on the 3rd Saturday of every month. Most stores only do it on the first Saturday. This kind of thing seems insignificant, but for a large company to essentially donate time and money to give you quality time with your child is a wonderful thing. The smiles on the kids' faces when they finish their project is priceless. I think it's paid off for the company because I definitely think of them first when I need something for a home project. Wow, this review is long overdue. We purchased carpet back in October 2017 for a rental property we have in MN, we currently live in CA. We figured it shouldn't be a problem, my gosh was I so horribly wrong. Home Depot was aware that we had tenants in the home. We ordered carpet for the bedroom and the basement. The installer came and we thought everything went well but found out the installer carpeted our family room instead of the basement. In order to carpet our family room the installer had to rip out our nice carpet that we had professionally cleaned for the tenants and replace it with the cheap carpet that was meant for the basement. We tried for months to get the error corrected. The store told us since the tenants signed off on it there's nothing they can do. They were refusing to fix the mistake, they hung up on us multiple times, even the manager there hung up on us. We had to fight and finally they offered to refund the cost of the basement carpeting as of March, 5 months later. I don't believe it's fair because we are now missing our original carpet and our basement is still not carpeted. We would end up having the family room carpeted for free but the carpet we had before was a nicer carpet. It's still a loss for us. The installer even tried to say the tenants requested the change while he was there which was a lie, our tenants did not request a change & even if a change is made can it really be changed the day of? The carpet needs to be ordered ahead of time otherwise why can't you order carpet on the spot. He was just trying to cover his own butt for his mistake. Any changes should have been confirmed with the store and the homeowner but even the store didn't know what was going on. I will never order these kinds of things from such an unprofessional company again. read more

Let me start by saying i have I've NEVER been to this store before & I have lived with my family less than 2 miles away for years. Tuesday around 2pm I needed a house key cut, didn't feel like going to Walmart as I love to avoid that place at all costs so Google said this place offered the service I thought "great this'll be quick & easy & i'll be back home in 15-20 minutes I imagine." Put my mask on & walked inside, a lot of employees at the entrance by that Return area but none greeted me so I didn't feel inclined to ask anyone "where can i get a key made here?" I just walk down the main aisle & found the station at the end, picked out a key & looked around for some assistance as the machine says to do, to let an associate obviously cut the key for you. I didn't see anyone around. I walked around & back up to the front at that time all the employees dispersed or seemed busy. At this point you'd figure someone could see I needed help.. so I found 3 at the paint area in the back; all younger guys probably around 20.. I asked if someone could help me or if they could call someone to come to that machine & 2 of them had to ask the 3rd what to do because they were clearly new employees. So the 3rd says "if you go wait over there i'll call someone to meet you" so i walked back over & stood there like a fool for around 5 minutes waiting for this magic employee that never ended up showing up. There should be "Push button for assistance" bells around the store but there especially. I don't think it's fair to the customer to have to make a couple laps around the store to find someone; all that to get a house key cut. Idk if the kid never called anyone or what; so I bought a key I liked & took it to Walmart where I was actually in & out of that store within 10 minutes & if you've been there you know that never happens.. All in all I got a bad first impression of Home Depot & suppose i'd rather to go Walmart (never thought i'd say that) to have a key cut; they also had a good selection of keys to choose from INCLUDING a nice Star Wars one that was priced $2 cheaper! I'll continue my gardening/random hardware/house stuff supplies at Menards or Walmart. Would not recommend read more

All your standard items but BE-AWARE! Apparently, THIS SPECIFIC Home Depot is a "contractor" store. We bought a piece of equipment and ended up visiting 4 other HD stores in search of accessories for it at a later time, only to find out we needed to return to THAT store! What?! Ugh. Well, at least we found someone in one of the other stores that knew that information. We are down about 2 hours of driving and searching but oh well. Now we know and hopefully you do too! I actually would prefer to visit this store because it is larger, cleaner, well stocked and has a better selection than any other HD in the area. But, having to pass by 3 others on my way to get to this one, not including all the other types of hardware stores, this is a little low on my list. If you ARE looking for heavier equipment though, this is your place! They also have quite a few knowledgable department helpers on the weekends to help you sort out what you really need which is very useful. read more

I bought some paint in July because of a rebate deal. 2 days ago I got a postcard from the paint mfg. that some info I had sent in was not correct and that I had 2 days to get a corrected rebate form mailed to them! The postcard did not even state what my form lacked! I went into the store MAD. The return man called a young blonde woman (the receipt said Terry but that may have the mans name), a staff person, over. She took care of the problem right there!! I am 70 and have delt with a lot of retail people and some can handle problems and some take a complaint personalty. This lady heard the problem, understood the problem, and resolved the problem. WOW. She will go a long way in life and in business. They have my business from now on for hiring people like that. read more

Been a Going to Home Depot (Maplewood, MN) for years. Tonight, 9-13-18, I purchased a piece of door trim that was labeled 3 inches wide. I had the length cut so it would fit in my car (so no return). Got home discovered it was 2.5 inches wide. Went back for a 3" & was told what they label as 3" is actually 2.5" & what is labeled 4" is actually 3.5" - they don't really sell 3" wide trim despite the labeling as such. I was told by the manager it's called "nominal" sizing. I told him regardless of nominal sizing the store can't mislead customers that way & must post a notice that actual sizes are different than labeling. The manager said it was Home Depot policy. I raised my hands above my head & declared (in disgust) under MN law that's called fraud. He then kicked me out of the store because other people in the isle heard me. I then went to a competitor store (starts with an "M") & they had labeling that said nominal size 3" actual size 2.5. Nothing misleading at all. People there helped me out a great deal & I left quite pleased. But I can't say the same for Home Depot. The place misleads customers & then treats them poorly when confronted with their fraudulent product labeling. They will never get another dime out of me. read more

UPDATE: As you can see below, Home Depot reached out to me for my contact info. Despite me replying right away, it has been 1 week+ I have NOT been contacted, and this issue has NOT been resolved. They have seriously dropped the ball. My boyfriend and I began the process of carpet installation with Home Depot a couple of weeks ago. We put down a deposit, picked out and ordered carpet, and had one the associates come out to measure the space. We received a phone call today stating that the install cannot be completed because of the asbestos tile underneath. We did not know that this was asbestos tile, however, it is my understanding from doing research that it is more of a hazard to remove this tile than it is to leave it and carpet over it. But I completely understand and respect that they cannot complete the job. The issue I have is that we cannot get our deposit back. Now we have lost both time and money in this process. On top of it, the store refused to give me the measurements that they took, saying that Home Depot owns those numbers. I was really disappointed in the poor service and communication we received. Being a young woman, I often get placated when I go to hardware stores. The person who helped me pick out a drill and tool set answered all of my questions and was respectful and kind. He didn't talk down to me and gave me honest advice when I asked for it. I definitely feel like I got a good deal for some quality tools. If I need anything else I'll be going back to this location. Whenever I asked an employee a question they didn't know the answer to, they quickly found someone to give me an answer. Everyone here is approachable and kind. Usually only review restaurants but this needed to be said. Been to many Home depots over the years but this one never fails to be a terrible experience. The latest was 3 days ago when I went to the garden center. Nobody bothered to make any attempt to assist nor even make eye contact. Walked by one employee 3 times and as he leaned on a desk staring off in the distance, he wouldn't even look at us. Spent 150.00 at Bachmans instead. Worst customer service ever! Last night I went to the paint department. I just needed a 5 gallon bucket of paint and was asked if I wanted it shaken. I said yet. Then the sales associate met another customer and disappeared. I waited 5 minutes and asked if someone was shaking my paint. Richard, also in the paint department, said no. I said that the sales person left and has not returned. He stated that she was a very dependable. She never returned. I asked for both his name since I could not read his name tag and also the associate who attempted to help me. He refused. I asked for a store manager. Tracy came and I explained the situation. She started to help me and then Richard assisted her. I said that I did not want his help she continued to ignore me. I finally said Stop, I do not want his negative energy on my paint. I asked for another manager. He came but offered nothing to satisfy my complaint. As I walked out the door, there was the associate from paint, talking to another associate. I said "Thank for the paint." She replied, "no problem." I said "I am being sarcastic." She then remembered she abandoned me in the paint department as I walked out empty handed and headed directly Menards (I was in and out of Menards in 10 minutes with amazing service) Home Depot on White Bear Avenue needs to work on customer service. It is no wonder the store is empty with customers. Don't stop there. You will leave without being served and disappointed. If I could give negative stars I would. My family and I went to Home Depot this past Monday. Pretty poor experience. We went to the lumber area around 8pm....saw that they were closing and had asked what time the store closes, he said "actually right now"....i looked puzzled because i didn't think a store would close that early...looked around and then on my phone and found out Home Depot closes at 9pm. So I brushed it off and kept looking around. No employee acknowledged us, said hello, smiled! only one guy (scruffy beard, sweater, smiled and said hello) ...when we bought a small rug (self checkout), when walking out, the lady at the front looked at us as if we were trying to steal it! never going there again!...i'd prefer Menards read more

I spend a lot of money at The Home Depot... more than 15K in the past year. Recently I bought some custom blinds for ~220$. When the box arrived at my house one of the mounting brackets was broken. I went back to the store on a weekend evening and requested a replacement bracket. I was told that it was a custom item and that "our specialist will call you the first thing on Monday morning". That is a fair response. Needless to say no one called. I called the customer service number and left a message on Tuesday. No one returned the call. The next weekend I went to the store with the blinds in the original box and requested a refund, explaining that no one responded to my request for a bracket. The person at the return counter insisted that I pay a restocking fee. I told her that I do a lot of business at the Store and gave her the name of the sales consultant (Wayne Kremer) that had recently sold me $15,000 worth of replacement windows. She said "no one by that name works here". I proceeded to give her his Home Depot card. I paid the restocking fee and purchased blinds elsewhere. I avoid The Home Depot because they do not value me as a customer. read more

Terrible experience at checkout. 8:30 pm. I go to the only (1) manned checkout line that is open because the item I have was not marked. There were 2 self checkouts open. The person in front of me had a problem. I get this does happen. I waited in line for 12 minutes before I was being taken care of. In the mean time no one was at the self service counters. But there were 2 employees manning the self service checkouts. 12 minutes I stood there. A few people came up and stood in line and then decided to go the self checkout route (cuz they could). There were a couple behind me for a little bit right before I was to be taken care of and one of the self service monitors asked if they could help them! At that point I said loudly, REALLY! Now I finally get to check out. The cashier was nice. I slid my plastic rebate card from Home Depot through the credit card slider an it came up EXPIRED. in the state of Minnesota these cards by law cannot expire. Now I have to hunt someone down that can revive the $30 dollar Home Depot rebate card. I finally paid cash and told the cashier supervisor on my way out my story. Her response was I'm sorry but we have been having problems with the self checkout the past few days.......I disgustingly walked out. read more
