You walk in and you see what you are going to get, a dated restaurant, serving dated food.
DO NOT let this bother you.
- recently, my wife and I ate an OK Greek meal, but it was in a such a beautiful premises, that anything but an amazing food experience would have been a let down. The food didn't match the quality of the restaurant.
I just think that in this restaurant, when you walk in, it was so 1970's, that anything half decent was going to impress.
It wasn't the best food. King prawns were over cooked, the bread was undercooked, the calamari was perfectly cooked, but the coating/batter was under. My 8oz fillet was perfectly cooked, but the pate on top was really cheap, coarse, tasteless, horrible pate. The sauce with the steak was stupidly thick, (but seriously tasty). Such a shame.
That said, it was great. I love the fact that after all those comments, I loved it. I also can't wait to take friends there to see what they think.
I think you should visit. It's a great evening.
