Absolute Health Hazard - Served Someone Else's Car Food I…read moreordered dine-in here around 1:00 PM on Father's Day (Order #0052: patty melt, onion rings, sweet potato fries, and a hot dog). While the staff wasn't outwardly rude, the blatant disregard for basic food safety and hygiene was shocking. The cashier accidentally rang my order up as "to-go" instead of "for here." Honest mistake, no big deal. However, they accidentally handed my order to another couple who was picking up a to-go order. That couple walked completely out of the restaurant, took my food into their personal vehicle, and sat in their car with it. The employee realized the mistake, ran out to the parking lot, and retrieved the food from their car. Instead of remaking my meal from scratch, the staff brought the food back into the kitchen, replated it, and served it to my girlfriend and me. This is an absolute health code violation. Once food leaves the building and enters a stranger's vehicle, it is contaminated. We have no idea what happened to that food inside their car. To make matters worse, because it had been sitting in steam-trapped to-go boxes in someone else's car, the sweet potato fries and onion rings were completely soggy when they finally got to our table. Serving contaminated, poorly handled food just to avoid the cost of remaking an order is disgusting and unacceptable. We will not be returning.

They do have a covered outdoor space for seating, along open parking and music. I first tried this food truck when they were at Sawyer Park a few years ago. I fell in love then and I remain in love... Now to the burgers, moist, cooked to perfection, soft buns, fresh ingredients, I could go on and on.... Fries were also delish!! I am so glad they found a home on Rayford! Will frequent!

I ordered the double patty burger adding a 1/2 order of fries and a small chili too. By the way this is a table service restaurant. They say the individual beef hamburger patties are 1/3 lb. but they sure look more like 1/4 lb. in weight to me because they are really thin. You probably want to get two like I did. The burger was tasty and I enjoyed it. Also the french fries are homemade and taste like it. Why can't more restaurants have fries like these rather than the frozen out of the bag kind? The 1/2 order size is large enough for 2 people to share. Finally their chili here is legit. Yummy! There is no doubt that this is a quality burger and fries eatery. Add in the chili and you will be happy when you dine here. My only negative is the price. No combos here so you pay list price for each item. With my double burger, 1/2 order of fries, small chili, drink, tax and tip my lunch was about $30. Yikes!

Why 5 stars? Because I'm so glad we have one of these close by now…read more --- --- --- One trend that's incredibly consistent with a new restaurant opening is that whenever they provide an estimated date to open, you should probably tack on an additional 6 months to that if you want to be realistic. Bamburger was the complete opposite of this. Despite my wife and I being in every local foodie group on the internet, where stories often break about new restaurant openings far in advance, this one totally escaped us. The very first time it even entered our radar that this was happening was a post on Facebook saying, "now open!" And not only was this some random restaurant opening, but we LOVE Bamburger, so this was an amazing surprise. It turns out, the reason they were able to do this so stealthy, is because it only took them 3 weeks to take over the space from the former tenant (a baked potato spot), and turn it into a Bamburger. Major kudos for what I can only assume is a Guiness World Record. In fairness, there's basically not one thing that was changed in the front of the house from the old restaurant. I talked to the guy who I assume is the owner and he said they had to do stuff in the kitchen, but that's still really amazing efficiency. And as it turns out, the smash burgers here are just as good as the original location on 2920. As are the tallow fries. Just like the original location, the menu is really basic. You just order everything on an iPad and they bring it out to you when it's ready. It's basically: smash burger (single, double or triple), spicy smash burger, smashed chicken sandwich or the vegan burger. My go to is a double with the added bacon patty, to go along with the tallow fries (loaded fries and sweet potato fries are also an option). I also added on a strawberry watermelon drink instead of a soda, which was awesome. It does come with free refills too. To-date, Bamburger has only been topped by one place in all of Greater Houston, IMO, for best smash burger. Hotline Burger is still my #1, but it's also an hour away, so it looks like me and Bamburger will be getting to know each other really well in the near and distant future when I'm craving a smash.
