I'm really glad The Hive MCC opened up in Pantego. It's a cute refurbished 1950s coffee trailer parked in the food truck area on Pioneer Parkway. The bee-themed branding is creative and fun. Honestly the branding is so good they could probably moonlight as consultants if they wanted.
I got the Honey Harmony latte (with honey and cinnamon) and it was delicious. Not too sweet, but you could really taste the honey. I also tried the oat Power Balls, which are made with oats, coconut, peanut butter, honey, chocolate chips, flaxseed, and vanilla. It's the kind of thing that's just too good to mass-produce, but absolutely perfect from a place like this.
Lydia, who I think is the owner, was super friendly and fast, something surprisingly rare among mobile coffee spots.
They've also taken the time to create a comfortable hangout space with shade and picnic tables. It's exactly what you want for early Texas summer mornings.
Support local, get a great cup of coffee, and enjoy a genuinely well-thought-out experience. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more
