My husband went with the enchilada suizas which w was 3 tortillas filled with shredded chicken baked in salsa verde. It was rich, filling , and tasty. I ordered the plato de la abuela wich had a bit of everything. It contained rice, beans, potatoes, tortillas and you can pick your filling. I went with fish and beef. Massive portions and it was really tasty too. i especially like the fish filling. I had leftovers for the next day. IF you are indecive this is a good way to go. The coral door, the papel picado dancing in the windows, the warm glow from within -- it pulls you in before you've even decided to stop. I came for a drink and left utterly charmed. The tamarind passion fruit cocktail arrived in a stunning geometric cut glass, beautifully presented, and at just $6 it was one of the best value moments I've had in Edmonton in a long time. I sat outside in the afternoon sun, drink in hand, just soaking it all in and letting the neighbourhood wash over me. Marlo's ethos is simple and honest -- daily tortillas made from Oaxacan corn, slow-stewed meats, bright salsas, and regionally inspired cocktails. They do a few things and they do them with real care. In a world of sprawling menus and overpromising kitchens, that kind of focus is quietly radical. Old Strathcona is lucky to have Marlo. The guacamole was very fresh and tasty, we all enjoyed it. The salsa was watery so we didn't enjoy it as much. The chips were delicious but a little over baked. However, it makes up for it in the food and service. By far one of the best Latino eateries in the Edmonton area (Luna is another favourite). A really great diverse menu and you can find something for everyone. Also a great place for beer, Mexican soda, and cocktails. We started out with Papa al Ajilo - Creamy potatoes sautéed in tasty garlic and guajillo peppers, seasoned with a mixture of Mexican spices, served with Chipotle sauce. These were good. Luckily we ordered tacos and I just happened to notice a discount on the bill and asked why we had it.  Water pitcher on the table was nice.  Tried the Ensalada Verde salad to start (share). Dressing was a little too sour for me and the greens were not crisp. 7/10.  I got the Fish tacos - 12/10 wow. Fish was SOOOO big and tasty. Slaw was meh but fish was wow wow.  Friend got the blackened chicken - 6/10, dry chicken, not a lot of great flavor or texture. We also got the Grilled Pina Colada dessert - 4/10. Pineapple had nice grill marks but was just warm, not caramelized like Pampas. Ice cream was good but just vanilla. Pineapple sauce was just thickened pineapple juice. Tiny sprinkle of granola on top. Overall very underwhelmed Especially for the price - WAY overpriced.  Recommending - only come for the fish taco and come on a Tuesday!!
