This is a kick arse gym. But it's definitely in the Average Joes category which suits me just fine…read more So if you like your gym sans mirrors, with normal people and at reasonable prices this is definitely the place for you. The instructors and personal trainers are all super committed to getting you the best out of your work out and the patrons are friendly and talkative. It has a real community feel to it. For someone who generally hates people it has been a pleasant social experience for me as well as a turning point in my health. There is still your iron pumping blokes grunting and sweating on everything, but they're at least nice and not so intimidating. It has a bunch of sporting stuff that goes on there as well as the centre for gymnastics, so every now and then you get accosted by tiny leotarded sticky things but it's not too often as to be a turn off. Kudos has to go out to the centre manager Mandy (also my PT) whose passion and commitment to the centre are evident in it's awesomeness.

As far as a gym goes, this place has everything you'd expect - weights room, group classes, and…read morecardio machines. However being a leisure and fitness centre it also has two or three big areas for basketball, gymnastics, volleyball and more! There is also a small wet area with a plunge pool, spa and sauna. Its not huge or very flash but its mostly empty so my girlfriend and I have long chats in the spa after working out so keep that quite Yelpers shhh! Now yes the building is dated, so much so that I felt like I was transported back to the 90s - its definitely not as new and modern as your goodlife or anytime fitness gyms but its good value at $10 a week with everything you need!

I have been a member of this gym for many years and have seen it change names three times. what I…read morelove about this gym is that it is real. You get all different types of people from teenagers to pensioners, all different shapes and sizes, hard core gym junkies to the more relaxed type that come for yoga and Body Balance. It has a wide variety of different classes to suit everyone. Recently renovated, it still has a slightly "daggy in a good way feel". I spend a lot of time on the exercise bikes, usually reading a good book, much to the disgust of the serious gym devotees. The lovely airy windows overlook playing fields, a great view as I ride my bike and press my weights. The only downer is when there is a spin class in progress next door and the instructor is screaming at the top of her lungs interrupting my reading. Overall the gym is airy, modern and welcoming with something for everyone.

Yes, of course I've seen staff come and go but they always seem to leave for a location or career move. Not because they're unhappy at work. - The change rooms have been recently renovated and the showers have awesome pressure and are super clean. If anything, they can be a bit humid due to a lack of ventilation but really, it's a shower and kind of expected. - Cardio equipment is relatively new and easy to use which is turbo important if you just want to work out and you don't hold a diploma in IT. - The view. I hate nothing more than running on a treadmill while looking at a painted wall or the arse of the person in front of me. This gym looks out over Anzac Highway and the PHOS oval. Yes, the sales guys are pushy and you can't avoid being asked to buy PT sessions but "no thanks" is a perfectly acceptable answer.
