I honestly cannot say enough great things about this building. I lived here for almost a year and, unfortunately, had to relocate to another state for work. When I got word that I would be relocating to Seattle, I literally wanted to just pick this building up and take it with me.
The building: Small (only 80 units) and easy to navigate. I shy away from monstrously large apt complexes because they are generally noisy, difficult to navigate, and I don't get a personalized feel. Here, the smaller building really allowed the staff to develop relationships with the residents. If I was traveling and needed help with a package, they were always ready and available to assist. The size of the building really allowed the staff to personalize service for each resident which I really appreciated. Also...I've lived in a lot of exclusive (read: expensive) buildings and I've definitely encountered very snotty attitudes from the staff....this was never the case in this building. I never saw Melissa (or anyone else for that matter) not break their necks to be kind and helpful to everyone. IMO..that in and of itself was well worth the price tag. My stay there was a pleasure and I am really scared I won't find this level of service again :(
The apt: Gorgeous unit and hands down had the best master bedroom/bathroom/closet situation I've ever had. I could comfortably fit a twin bed in my closet if I wanted to...yeah...it was just that big. HUGE. I am REALLY sad to be leaving that behind.
The building: The gym is fairly basic. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. It was always clean and had the equipment I needed.
The pool/yard: The pool was small but I'm not really a pool person. I AM a dog person and loved the backyard area. I let my dog run back there off leash so she could get some exercise. The bldg being so small, I've never noticed the area being crowded. My dog is scared of other dogs so she can't play with them. The other residents were really accommodating with her and would wait until we were done before bringing their dogs into the backyard area. I loved that. Great people.
Other: The free coffee downstairs has saved me on more than one occasion.
Safety: Building is safe. Its in Highland Park so I'd expect nothing less.
Nearby Shops: Walking distance to Al Biernat's (excellent restaurant), Equinox, Dry Bar, and lots of other places. Super convenient.
Parking: Never an issue. More than enough spaces for the residents. The garage can be a little tricky to navigate really big trucks, but you really get used to it.
Staff: As I stated before, they are simply amazing and do a great job in keeping the building running well and looking nice. I know I've told Melissa and/or Leo that something was wrong on my floor as I walked out of the door for work, come back that evening and the problem was resolved. That level of service is important to me and the staff here delivers white glove service.
Neighbors: Quiet and friendly. Never had an issue with noise, rudeness, people picking up after their dogs, etc. It was great.
Hmmm..I think that's all I have for now. If you're considering this place, just go for it. You won't regret it. If I wasn't moving for work I'd be here a VERY long time. read more
