Prices are great the free tea as you browse is always on point and the quality of herbs is hands down top tier. Please support this "woman owned" small business and help HER thrive. The owner/cashier walked away after she gave me my change saying to me "I don't need this!" I was requesting a larger jar of the gynecream. I have used it since the original owner (Ashtasa) created it. She interrupted me. Saying, she created it! The worse action is her walking away as I was speaking. She must not need my business. I've never been treated so disrespectful. The owner is totally RUDE and self absorbed. my business is obviously not needed. I obviously needed this cream and other products in this store. no more. I also asked her about spiknard? She waved her hand to the wall. I suppose, I was too help myself. inexperienced at people/customer service. I could go on, seriously poor service. A former Albuquerque resident, I often visited the herb store when it was on Carlisle. I was recently in town and discovered it had moved over next to the restaurant Seared in Old Town. The new store is quite nice and they said they had only moved two weeks ago and will be updating the new address on their website soon. read more

This place is the epitome of trash capitalism. Most of the product is ordered online from cheap mass produced overseas "sweatshop" companies and sold at 10xs the cost. A lot of the product is, no joke, Timu, the rest from cheap overseas import companies being purchased for $1 and sold for $10+. The herbs are sourced from Mountain Rose and Star West Botanical at which you can purchase 4oz of herb for the price of 1oz of the same product at The Herb Store. Attached is a mortar and pestle set that can be purchase online for $15.00, which is being separated and sold individually for almost the same price as the entire set. This is a scam. The manager who makes these decisions obviously does not care about the clientele, but if I was 40, and still working at my moms store I would be pretty angry too. The amount of single use plastic waste that flows through the store due to the constant overseas shipping, is atrocious. Support your local artists, healers, and entrepreneurs. They actually care about the community and the People instead of purchasing immorally procured product from someone who is actively looking for ways to screw you out of money for their own financial gain. read more

I'm blown away by how epic this place is! My friend recommended it to me and thank goodness he did! I have PCOS, and western medicine sucks. Got some tea to try dealing with that. While I was there, I ended up speaking with a nice lady who works there and helped me with an inflammation issue I've been having- without breaking the bank! I am completely willing to drive the 20ish minutes to get there. It's awesome~ read more

LOVE this shop! Their selection of house-made salves is amazing. I tried the Eczema salve first and had nothing like this before. It is the perfect blend for my mildly dry, cracky hands. I was surprised by the topical herbs used to make it, but it's obviously good for a lot more than just eczema. So then I decided to try other salves. They're all unique and really well made, and less expensive than I would have thought. I was visiting from the PNW and came back several times during my short stay in Albuquerque. First time going in because I saw a small Iron cauldron and I thought that would go perfect in my Harry Potter Collection. I love the store it self has a lot of nice herbs I might go back for! This is a very cool place, with many herbal items in stock. They have essential oils, herbs, natural soaps, natural candles, sage, saging feathers, Essential oil mists, Crystals, Bath salts, and more. The staff is extremely helpful, and they will gladfully explain the purpose and use of a product that you are interested in trying. The lady was even nice enough to give me some free incense samples. I ended up purchasing some natural soup, natural green tea gum, and a natural soy meditation candle. This reminded me of the herbal shop near me back home, although much smaller. You can pick up individual herbs to make teas, sachets, brews, as well as premade tea mixes. My personal favorites are the allergy tea, cold season tea (REALLY DOES WONDERS - I get sick constantly as a teacher), and the happy tea. I love to walk into the store when it's busy. Wow! What a great experience! And quick too! I just landed in Abq from San Francisco and got a bad cold. Found this place on yelp and went for it. They have extensive selection of herbs in forms of tea, tinctures and more. Adorable read-headed Tara immediately helped me with a few things. She was super informative and had a great energy! In less than 5 minutes I was out of the store with everything I need and a big smile because of Tara :-) I hope we'll become friends. Love this store! Anything that is difficult to find in supplements and herbs, you will find it here. The staff has specialized knowledge which is invaluable. I recently got several flower essences that I had not been able to find elsewhere from the FES line. I really like their in house blends of body care products as well. I have shopped at the herb store for some years now, and it was good. The last time I went with my sister we spent at least 1/2 hr trying to return a defective tea cup. The manager insinuated my sister broke the cup and would not give her store credit. She tried to manipulate the situation with "this is a small business", and "the return could come out of her pay, and she is a single mother". I started putting the merchandise I was about to purchase, my sister was going to do the same. And finally she gave her store credit, my sister will not shop there again. Part 2 I purchased a small $4.99 container of shea butter that was packaged at the herb store. When I opened it at home it smelled rancid. I'm not taking it back because of the negative manager. I am not going to shop there anymore. If you buy anything that has the label "the herb store" as the supplier open it and smell it. It may be very old and rancid. By the way they do their best not to honor their return policy written at the bottom of the receipt. read more
