This was a pretty good place to eat. We were out and about around 8-9AM and grew hungry, searching for a place that would be open at that time of day on a Sunday. We were not disappointed.
We sat at a table and looked through their extensive menu. According to staff, everything on the menu was available to order, not just breakfast items. I was delighted because I definitely was craving more of a lunch than breakfast. I ordered the haggis bites, the tandoori chicken as well as the spicy prawns. Our food came out pretty fast and very hot (a plus!). Unfortunately, we could not order any alcoholic drinks before 11AM.
The chicken was very delicious. It was soft, not very chewy and flavorful. I am on the fence about the sauce that it came with. It was ok, but not something I would miss if they took it off the plate. The spicy prawns were my favorite though. They were extremely good and the sauce that came with it was very good as well. The haggis bites...well I'm sure if you like haggis, you would think it to be delicious. It wasn't nasty, but let's just say it's one of those things I need to develop a taste for. However, I definitely was not a fan of the sauce.
Now, I loved the prawns so much that I went up to the counter to order more. However, I said "shrimp" and the guy mistook me for saying "strips" and brought out chicken strips. I told him that I wanted shrimp...the prawns but he wouldn't take it back and just said "Sorry." I was a little ticked off, but the strips were pretty good. There is nothing more that can be done about that situation.
Be reminded that when you order, you have to go to the bar counter. Aside from the incident above, the staff was friendly for the most part. The restaurant totes a casual flair and was very clean although a little dark. The prices on the menu items seemed fair and were not overly expensive. Overall, If I lived here or stayed longer I would definitely be back. It seems to be a very nice restaurant with slightly above average food and I'm sure the drinks would have been great if only we had arrived after 11. read more
