The pub is very grubby feeling as are the ladies toilets (not a nice experience) Downstairs is usually packed with older regulars. There's a pool table downstairs too and they sometimes have live music on a Friday/Saturday night. Downstairs is also really grubby, the toilets too. And staff aren't always the friendliest either up or downstairs. Prices are comparable with the rest of town, but this is one place I like to miss on a night out.

Oh my, they were delicious! The fries were so good too. Nothing was greasy. It came with a small side of mushy peas and I could've had a whole plate of those but with the huge generous portion of fish I got, I couldn't even finish the second fish let alone having more mushy peas. My husband ordered the mussels and they were plump, juicy and large. I don't know how many he got but there were a lot of mussels! I'm wanting to say probably 20 or maybe even more. He said they were amazing, and they were served in a tin bucket which was pretty cool....the lid served as a perfect receptacle for the empty shells.
