The star inn in Stornoway is one of the oldest pubs in town with the great feature of a real fire which is nearly always lit!
It's a cosy wee pub which is quite narrow and long but is looking a bit shabby now.
Staff are friendly and efficient and prices are comparable with other pubs in town.
Normally on a Friday and Saturday night they have live music from local artists which is great, though theres no are to dance it's more for atmosphere. Those playing are always advertised in the local paper The Stornoway Gazette the thursday previous.
The main downside to the pub is the toilets! There's only one ladies which is fair enough for the size of the pub but it's really grubby and quite often missing essentials like toilet roll and soap! read more
