I had the entire odds against me in buying a house in Los Angeles with my partner who had quite poor credit. The first candle we got was Obstacle Remover, because we had all these impending debts on the credit scores that were preventing us from gettin a loan. Within TWO WEEKS, the disputes we sent out to the credit bureaus caused THREE credits to jump 100 points. I lit the Road Opener to create abundance. The Road opener provided us with THREE Brokers, THREE MORTGAGE OFFERS, and the most complicated request EVER- a property with multiple, separate, domiciled residences- a duplex, triplex, guesthouse- for under 900k. After so much discrimination, rejection, competition, and stress, as each of us was even in and out of LA during the whole process, we were submitting an offer when our real estate broker dropped us. At this point, I was so stressed that I had acquired a SUCCESS candle. we had found our dream home and had a 48 hour window to submit an offer. We were contacted. I deeply love the personalization when you buy a candle, to what you actually are working with she will discuss it topically and create something special for you, instead of a generic candle. I find that her energy is really special and I always feel connected to my path when I burn the candles from her shop that have her special touch. Suddenly, I do a google search and realize that Pan's Apothika (the spiritual successor to Pan Pipes) is literally a block and a half from where I live! This occult store has a very punk-witchy aesthetic with a hand-painted icon of Hekate, a statue of Baphomet and pentagrams formed with twigs and ribbon. It has all the staples of an esoteric store, so you can easily find candles, incense and crystals, along with jewelry, pins, stickers and patches. The clerk on duty was kind and willing to assist. In my case, I was just looking for some basics, but Pan's Apothika offers other services of the occult persuasion. And prices are actually extremely reasonable So give this place some love.

I was first introduced to aura photography by a practitioner in Santa Ana, but after she moved out of state, I started looking for another place and found Sacred Flight. The shop is located in Los Feliz and has a cozy, spiritual vibe. They carry a beautiful selection of crystals, singing bowls, and other wellness items that are fun to browse before or after your session. The staff was welcoming and took the time to explain the process, making the experience feel both relaxing and meaningful. The aura photo session was about $65, and it included a printed photo along with a brief reading explaining what each of the colors represented. The only downside was parking. It was by far the most challenging part of my visit. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and thought the experience was a good value for something so unique. I also heard they've opened a second location in Pasadena, and I'm looking forward to checking that one out for my next birthday tradition.

And you know that when a business is packed, that means that whatever it is that they're selling must be really good. It is now a few years later and I tagged along with my brother this time for a reading because he was facing obstacles in his life. After his reading and cleanse he was an entirely different person but in a good way. He looked refreshed and stress-free. I asked him what did Sal tell him but my brother wouldn't tell me. He just told me that he now knows what was blocking him and what he needs to do. He told me to get my own reading. I thought about it for a minute. My grandmother has been here before for an amazing reading. My mother swears by Sal. And my two brothers were extremely happy with their readings. So what's to fear? Right? I went for it! Although I am still young and my life experiences are not very deep, my reading was equally amazing and i now have clarity and direction in my life. Here's exactly how his scheme works: Step 1: He does a reading that sounds deep and convincing. He makes you believe he sees your situation clearly. Step 2: He says he needs money to perform a spiritual "job" for you. You pay because you want help. Step 3: Then he tells you that before the job can work, you need several cleanses. Each cleanse is $100-$150. You pay again. Step 4: You wait. Nothing happens. When you follow up, he says you need more cleanses. And more cleanses. And more. I followed this cycle for over a year. Every time I paid, there was another excuse, another cleanse required, another delay. The original job he promised? Never completed. Not once. When I finally asked for proof that any work had actually been done, I got vague spiritual excuses and pressure to pay for yet another cleanse. He takes advantage of people who are genuinely struggling and looking for help. He strings you along as long as you keep money coming in. But he never delivers. Do not trust Salvador Gata. Do not give him your hard-earned money. If you've already paid him and feel stuck - walk away now. He will keep taking and never give you what you paid for. Save yourself the time, money, and heartbreak. Go elsewhere.

You can follow them on IG @ravenapothecary but when I glanced through the feed, it doesn't give you a good sense of all you could get in the store. However, I was told that you can order online (DM them) and request virtual tours where they show you the jewelry. I ended up buying one ring, it was at a really great price point, and I now have this store bookmarked in case I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I would definitely make this a regular stop-in to check the inventory.
