This is the second escape room experience for all of us. We were extremely happy with our experience here! Although it's a bit tricky to locate, because their sign was blown away- we saw the name at the bottom of the list just inside the front door. We were greeted by the owner/employee when we arrived. The area is clean and well-kept. This was a very exciting and thrilling experience for us! My wife and I and our two daughters age 14 and 12 thoroughly enjoyed it. We chose the Adirondack kidnapping experience. One step add to another step one to another step... Very exciting! We would recommend this experience for anyone!

Our capybara-loving kid was over-the-moon to get to feed the capybaras, and I think a piece of me was healed after snuggling with baby goats. The admission prices were very reasonable, especially with so much to do. We could not have had a better experience, from the friendly bird who played with us when we checked in, to all of the animal presentations and encounters. You can tell the animals are well-taken care of and happy, and the employees are, too. We were really impressed with how knowledgeable the employees were, and how great they are with the kids and families. They explained all of the safety rules clearly, and they had great enthusiasm and patience. To top it off, our kids loved getting to play on the playground, in the play place, and on the massive trampoline. Pro tip: bring a little extra cash and quarters to get some extra food for some of the animals. Core memories were created for sure, and we hope to come back on our next visit.

The Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo is fucking AWESOME…read more We needed a place for a stopover with the kids to break up a long drive. We looked into activities in Utica and area, and someone suggested this place. We had no idea what to expect and pulling into the parking lot, were prepared to be underwhelmed. We were so wrong. Think your typical, big city zoo, and take away all the stuff you don't like, and add in more of the stuff that you do like. For example, make the size of the zoo manageable for kids to walk around. Instead of having 11,000 species of animals that most people don't care that much about, have a smaller place where you really get to be up close. Then add in more interaction - literally every 30 minutes there is something on the schedule for kids to go play with goats, or touch a porcupine. And then throw in a kids play area, and clean bathrooms! Skip the Utica Zoo and come here. 10/10 would recommend for families looking for a fun way to spend 3 or more hours of their day.

Love walking along the trails with my four legged baby and truly feel blessed that I am able to enjoy the quiet and beauty of the gardens. It truly gives the area a unique feel combining art and nature. The garden runs about a 3 mile stretch and features over 20 large scaled modern sculptures and interactive displays dispersed throughout the walking trails. Additionally, there is a frisbee golf park which makes this a fun area for families to get out and enjoy. There is also a Vietnam Veterans Memorial section as well. Highly recommend a visit to the gardens if you find yourself in the Rome area.

There are 28 wonderful sculptures, most of which are approachable from the trail. Signage tells you about the provenance, artist, and materials. There are five linear miles of paved trail, perfect for bikes, jogging, strollers, wheelchairs, skateboards, etc. It is also well set back from the road so don't be deterred if you have kids, there is plenty of open space for them to run around! First of all there wasn't any music, some girl would occasionally buy a crappy song on a juke box, hurting and eventually killing our ears. Next the oil pattern was god awful, I don't know if it was just our lane, but trying to hook the ball was a genuine nightmare. I also should also mention that the interface was acting a little special, multiple times, the pins would randomly drop down, I'd say I'd have to reset the pins every other frame. The smell, the alley smelled like absolute crap, it smelled like a school cafeteria, and the food looked like complete slop. Lastly the line, there was only 3 people ahead of us in the line, but somehow it took 20 minutes to pay for our bowling. The shoes that I was offered looked like it was from the lost and found with multiple holes, torn up laces, and shredded insoles, they were Al's tied together extremely tight. Balls, one of the balls here initially looked fine, but when inspected had a hole covered up by a damn band aid. But hey if you still want to go, buy one of their overpriced crappy deep fried hot dogs, they sure do love those.
