The Harbour Inn was one of our first dining experiences in the UK. It was a very pleasing experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance of the place felt right. It felt old-styled and very English. We loved it. We were seated at a large table in the rear, as we had a large party. The whole vibe was great: dark, moody, exactly what you would expect a pub to feel like.
Now, seeing as this was our first time in the UK, we had to get the staples. Fish and chips for the wife, and I had steak and ale pie. Both were great. I don't have the experience to compare them to others, but we were very happy with our choices. We also had the Scotch eggs. They weren't really my thing, but I'm glad we tried them. The food was hot, fresh, and overall really tasty.
Everyone we met who worked there was very kind and welcoming, and they even offered guidance on local places to see during our trip. We are from the southern US, so I did catch a few locals staring as we talked, but I get it. I am interested in accents as well. read more
