I know you can say that about all campgrounds, BUT this one has sites that are really packed close together with water access and others that are in a field across the road from the beach... neither is ideal in our mind. There is a highway close by like all the reviews mention. It wasn't loud from our site, but when we walked the campground it was loud in other parts. We did take note on what sites we would stay in if we went again. I would tell you but then we'd never be able to book them. This is a busy place that is hard to get into even for the not so great sites... That being said, there wasn't people noise. Everyone was quiet and respectful. Fun activities nearby: Hiked to town on the trail to visit the lighthouse. Rented a kayak at the beach and paddled to the lighthouse. Dog swam and froze to death in the lake... Lots of rocks to pick. Everyone is agate searching.

We stayed in a pet friendly Lake Home Guest Room, and the room itself was nice. It had a queen bed, a twin bed, a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a big bathroom. One thing to note is that the entrance to the neighboring guest room is right next to your door. We were lucky the first night and had no neighbors, but the second night we did and my dog barked at every footstep she heard. Next time, out of respect for our neighbors (and to give our dog more space) we'd probably opt for a pet friendly cabin instead. One nice thing about the guestroom is that you do have a view of the lake. Unfortunately, the restaurant was just okay. We ordered takeout for both dinner and breakfast, and while it was fine, nothing really stood out. I was really looking forward to using the pool, hot tub, and sauna. Sadly, the pool was closed during our stay. The hot tub was open, but I couldn't figure out how to keep the bubbles on, which was a bit of a letdown. The lodge does seem to offer great amenities like bonfire pits and s'mores, which we were excited about. Unfortunately, they weren't out while we were there. I know these are weather dependent, but the weather didn't seem that bad while we were there. The staff were incredible, everyone from the front desk to the restaurant were nice and accommodating to any request we needed.

The kitchen was a great size, I wasn't hindered by the no oven what so ever. The accommodations were very clean. The bathroom had been recently updated and was a perfect size. We LOVED the wood burning fireplace and made a few meals with it. The bed was pleasantly comfortable with "my pillows" and tons of blankets and a nice comforter. There were occupants above us but the noise wasn't bad at all. This cabin is perrrfect for a romantic winter getaway. There are games and cards provided as well as a coffee maker & filters. The drinking water was double filtered which also added a nice touch. The owners are so friendly and there for you if you need anything! Thank you guys! Will be back in the summer :)

My one suggestion is to bring a baby gate if you have Littles because the stairs are of course a fun place climb. Also plastic plates and a high chair or booster would be useful to have. There's no air conditioning so plan accordingly. They do have some box fans though.

The bed is fantastic! I sleep like a baby here, especially when I can open the windows and listen to the waves crashing on the shore. It has a full kitchen with most of what one needs to cook a meal. I often bring already made food, though, so I can just relax. Perfect for a couples retreat or just on your own to rejuvenate the soul. Exercise is possible both inside and outside the cabin. Management has changed in the last year. There are a few new furnishings that look lovely. And WiFi was added for those who want to indulge in a little entertainment or social media. Kendra has been great to work with. Do please keep the cabin clean - it helps the resort keep its prices reasonable. I visit every chance I can.

The charming cabin was very cozy on the cold winter nights, fireplace in the living room, a well run resort in a perfect location, reasonably priced. We came up for the snow, cross country skiing and a romantic New Years holiday, it was great! When everywhere else in Wisconsin had a dusting of snow the Siskiwit area had 8" of snow. There were even skiers coming in from Minnesota in search of cross country ski trails with snow. Down hill ski areas and cross country trails were within 1/2 hr from the cabins in Bayfield. Mt Valhalla Recreation Area with cross country ski trails was only a 15-20 min. drive. Multiple snowmobile trails all across the area. Too bad Lake Superior wasn't frozen, because we could have visited the ice caves of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore which are just 5 minutes down Highway 13 from Siskiwit River Cabins. The Siskiwit River Cabins is on Siskiwit Bay. Siskiwit comes from an Ojibwe word for Lake trout. I hear fishing is great. Even a smoke house on the harbor selling smoked fish.

Never specified it was a charcoal grill and no grilling utensils. Cookware in the cabin sucked. Tiny shower that was very slippery with no grab bars. Left a day early due to not wanting to sleep in that bed again. Gave it a 2 because it was clean.

It looked like a perfect combination of rustic and classy, and totally relaxing. We only stayed here for one night, but it was a great night. The inn keepers are very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. Our room was small, but sufficient, with a fireplace and a balcony overlooking the lake. There is not much to do in the town of Cornucopia, which is about 20 minutes from Bayfield, but there are a few nice hikes near the B&B, or you can just relax on your balcony. I would recommend stopping by Siskiwit Falls, which is very close to the B&B. Bruce and Sandy serve breakfast at 8:30 am. Everything is homemade using local ingredients. On the day we were there, they served a quiche with sausage and wild rice, apple spic muffins and fruit. One thing to know, they do not accept credit cards! Make sure you have enough cash or your check book to pay for your room.
