The wife and I have been in the process of revenotating outside and inside our home lately. I could be wrong, but I think this common area bathroom is the end of the inside projects. The outside still needs the driveway replaced. I called for a few estimates and settled on The Handyman Stop. I had already had him renovate and paint my outside storage shed, (you can my before, green shed and after, white with blue trim pictures, see it on this site). It was in sad shape. Peter and Pop's, did an outstanding job with that task, so I decided to give him a shot at my bathroom. They did not disappoint us. When he removed the old cabinet, (which he carried away at no extra charge), we found out the underside floor had to have tile laid, for it was Old 80's linoleum, which we expected. Peter went right to work laying the tile I supplied. The next day he returned and completed the job. The new cabinet was damaged on one side and he repaired it so you would never see the damage. After the cabinent was installed, it required a few minor modifications to provide a perfect fit. Peter did a outstanding job taking care of this. The finished product as you can see was perfection. My Wife and I are very satisfied with the instalation. Our 89 house has been updated throughout to come up to the 1920's Era and we are completely satisfied our house update project is finally completed inside. We also had the roof replaced, but that is for another review. Peter's The Handyman Stop business is a small family operated one, but don't let that deter you. I think I have found our Handyman we can trust to do it right the first time and obstacles he may run into dosn't stop his determination to satisfy his customer. He said he is available for all projets, no mater what you need, just give him a call. I highly recommend Peter and Pop's for your projects. He arrives on time, is courteous, reasonable with pricing and cleans up throughly prior to departure when leaving. I will call him in the future. read more

We used the Handyman Stop to do a remodel on our guest/ downstairs bathroom. We were very impressed at the final result of installation of of our new luxury bathroom which eliminated a tub/shower insert to a beautiful new walk-in shower, replaced the flooring, vanity, and fixtures. The crew ( Peter & Mike) were extremely professional and gave us good recommendations that made the bathroom look amazing. They kept me up to date with any items needing approval before they proceeded. We are very happy with our new bathroom. read more

I get that things don't go as planned sometimes and that we're living through a pandemic. Times are hard. Some things have changed. What shouldn't have changed is the way a business responds to its clients. I scheduled three separate dates for someone from The Handyman Stop to come look at my bathroom for a tile job. Each time, this business did not reach out to me about not being able to show up. The first time was last Wednesday (Feb 10). I chatted through here with the business and set up a date for them to come. They were willing to come early so I wouldn't stay up too late (I work nights) so +1 star for that. They give me a window of 6am-6:30am. 6am rolls around and I'm waiting. 6:30am - still no knock, no text, no yelp message, no email, no phone call. I decide to be patient and wait until 7:30am to call THEM. And a man answers the phone, I ask them if they're still coming and they say no, the woman (I guess who runs the yelp messenger) couldn't fit me into the schedule. Great, right? So we rescheduled for a week after for the same time. Strike one. Second time, I wait same as last week but before I let it get too late I text the man I spoke to and ask if we're still good for today. He says no he's got an emergency water leak to fix and MAYBE some other guy can come out tomorrow at the same time. Strike two. This morning rolls around and I decide to be patient one last time. This is a 5 star rated company after all. I'd really like for them to do my tile. So they gave me the same 6-6:30am time window. I wait until 7:30am this morning again and just went to bed. I woke up and as of 6:53pm there still hasn't been a call or text or any form of communication from this business. Strike three. The Handyman Stop must have been doing pretty well to disregard a potential customer. Hopefully no one else experiences this but this place has definitely lost my business and potentially the business of everyone I share this with. read more

I tried calling this company for some repair work, the man that answered told me to hang on, then hung up on me. I called back since I thought we'd been disconnected and he hung up on me again. Very rude and unprofessional! read more

They did a good job painting my cabinets for a very affordable price. He was very communicative about the job and was a pleasure to have working in my home for a week. read more

We give the highest recommendation! Look no further, Peter, of the Handyman Stop, met all of our kitchen renovation needs with professionalism, accuracy, a broad expertise and honesty! We hired him to paint our kitchen cabinets, various electrical work and to tile our kitchen backsplash. He was open to work with our needs, provided consultation and guidance before even starting the job! Our cabinets look amazing and you would not be able to tell that they are not new! He explained the entire process, finished on time and always extremely professional! His tile work is impeccable! He even met us at the tile store to help pick out the final project, again a true professional! You will not go wrong by hiring Peter for work at your home. His skill set seems unlimited and we will without a doubt hire him again and again as needed. read more

Peter, thanks for a professional experience today. My husband and I are very pleased with the closet repairs today. The repairs recommended, and work completed will assist with the heavier clothes weight distribution. Looking forward to working with you on my next project. read more

Outstanding from start to finish. Communication was great, work was done fast and under budget. I can't recommend highly enough! Simply a fantastic experience! read more

Peter was the epitome of professionalism! He came by within a day to assess all the repairs and gave us a brief run-down of how he would address it, and a quote shortly after. We were on a short timeline so we moved before he could get started, but he coordinated with our property manager to get access and did an AMAZING job, including painting! There were a lot of cheap fixes done by the flipper who we purchased it from and he corrected all of them ontop of some of the wear-and-tear incurred during our time there. Our cost was extremely reasonable and Peter was very communicative and courteous throughout the whole process. We will absolutely be repeat customers when the time comes! read more

I was extremely pleased with the work Peter did to help me get settled in a new apartment. I loved the fact that he returned my phone calls, listened to what services I needed completed. He then set up an appointment where he visited to actually review the work request and gave me an estimate. Most handymen that I have tried to contact don't even return calls. Peter installed medicine cabinets, redid closet shelves, anchored large TV to wall,, installed curtain rods and hung the drapes, installed several bathroom hooks and commode seat and shower head, and several other items on my list. His work is excellent and he is most courteous and pleasant to be around. He is on time and if he is running a little late, he will call you. I highly recommend Peter--he is the best! read more

Peter did a fantastic job working on our house, and has been an absolute pleasure to work with throughout.

After having multiple people fall through, I found The Handyman Stop and I'm so glad i did. I recently moved to the area and had a lot of work I needed done, some of which needed to be done pretty quickly before I officially moved in. Peter, his wife and employees have been amazing! He fixed and redid flooring and even found a crack in my foundation and repaired it before I got to the house (he managed to pull this all off within about 3 days). I have been here for close to three weeks now and he has done a number of other jobs, including but not limited to: regrouting, window repair, door repair, removing a half wall, repairing skylights, etc. I am so glad I found someone reliable who does such good work! I will be looking to him for fencing and other projects down the road. Highly recommend!!! read more

He was amazing to work with. Even with Covid-19 he showed up with a mask and everything. He fixed everything we needed and even worked later than usual to ensure we got everything done in a certain time frame. He will be my go to person for any fixes needed. read more

Great work! I had to have an entire half bath replaced, plus flooring on my first floor. Peter was very efficient. With the short window of time given to finish the job I am thoroughly impressed. I am very pleased with the work that was done. read more

Needed someone to help with some work at my elderly parents house. No show three times. When contacted each time they had different excuses which may or may not be true but never called to let us know - just didn't show up. read more

Had my front door repainted. The handyman stop did excellent work. He was responsive and very polite. Would use again.

Had a pre hung door installed along with a screen door. They showed up, removed the old door and found water damage at the bottom from the previous installer putting cardboard under the existing threshold. They removed the damaged threshold, properly installed a treated board and installed both doors perfectly without a hitch. Would highly recommend. read more

Highly recommend if you need anything done around the house. Peter is reliable and professional, does great work, and I gave me his input on stuff around my home which turned out perfectly. From putting up shutters to fixing previous contractors' work, he truly does a wonderful job! read more

Peter and his team came to handle a number of different odd jobs (cabinetry repair, lighting, replacing a front door, etc). Trust/Integrity stood out: everything was the price he said it would be. He came back to fix something after I'd already paid him. When working with a contractor I think it's reassuring knowing you can believe what you hear. read more

Highly impressed with Peter's work installing new stonework for our fireplace. Precise, prompt, and professional, Peter was very thorough, kept the area clean, wore a mask, and was very pleasant to work with. Scheduling was easy, communicating through Yelp with Ekaterina. I had a hole in the textured ceiling that needed to be cut out, replaced and retextured. They responded quickly, had the best price and came out to my house the next morning. Great work! read more

My wife and I solicited multiple quotes to refinish our kitchen cabinets. After weighting all of the options, we decided to award the job to The Handyman Stop. Peter and his crew gave us the best price and their work was top notch. They were on time, clean, and professional. After Peter completed the kitchen cabinet job, we hired him to complete various other tasks around the house. We will continue to use the Handyman Stop for all of our handyman needs. read more

We had requested 3 different quotes and Peter was the only one who responded - or in a timely manner (within 48 hours) for an estimate. We are getting ready to put our house on the market and needed to get this project going as soon as possible. He was very reasonable so we accepted and scheduled the work. We had a project of removing some wall paper (Hallway, Living room and bathroom), painting inside and outside of the house in different areas. Peter and crew are very hard working as they spent two days - long hours prepping and painting. In the process he discovered a leak from the upstairs toilet coming down into downstairs bathroom. The remodeling of the upstairs bathroom two years ago - that contractor never sealed the toilet correctly, therefore it leaked. Peter is the one who noticed it and had it been anyone else- I don't think they would have seen it (as we didnt) nor would anyone else have been able to repair it as Peter did. He got right on bathroom repair upstairs - replaced the flooring- sealed etc.. Repaired downstairs bathroom ceiling. All very professional work and I know it is fixed right. The bathroom added on much more time than Peter had anticipated but he still worked it in to get it repaired. All of Peter's work is top notch quality. He cares about his work - he is meticulous! He was fun to be around as he worked in our home and I even left the front door unlocked one day for him to come in and start working. I trust him completely. He always let me know when he was coming - if he was running behind - or if he had to reschedule on a different day. We will definitely have him handle any future projects( which we have some forthcoming already). Peter is very versatile in all he can do (one stop shop for everything!) so it is nice to know any project he can do it and reasonable priced. Again- we were very pleased with everything and as we will continue to hire him- I hope anyone reading this reaches out to him for their work as well- you wont be disappointed.. read more
