Had an old 8 ft. sliding glass door that had been stuck for a long time. Despite the fact that handymen and contractors are all super busy right now and difficult to secure for small jobs, Jimmy replied to my text within 10 minutes for urgent help regarding a running toilet and managed to stop by before his next job, arriving within the hour! The problem was a unique motion-sensor toilet apparatus issue and he diagnosed it in minutes, fixing it for the time being and told me to call if the fix didn't hold, and he'd bring a new part and only charge me at that point. This is the kind of old-school handyman practice that you don't find anymore! So grateful he's our local guy. read more

What can I say? My well stopped working, I called the a "well guy" who came out and said the electrical service to the pump house was 110v and needed to be 220v. He said we needed to pull a new line. Charged me $100 for his 10 minute diagnosis. So I checked Yelp and called "The Handyman" aka Jimmy to take a look. He was responsive, we scheduled a meet time, he came out, quickly diagnosed that the pump house was actually getting 220v. He then checked the pump electrical box and found it was getting 220v as well. He put the pump box back together and moved it around a bit and voilà! Pressure started to build, motor started to run, and we were back in biz. He made a few suggestions as to why and what, and didn't charge me a dime! Do not bother asking for a quote. Had a job I needed done and have been putting off a few months. Had no problem waiting for an install. Requested a quote and they refused to even give a quote because they were "booked at that time". I never specified a time. I stated that and again handyman decided they knew better and I could not possibly wait and again refused a quote because they were booked. How about next time you try "I charge XX for this type of service and my next available appointment is XX" instead of assuming anything else about a potential customers request. read more

We came home from vacation to discover our hot water heating wasn't working. Jimmy came over within an hour - on Memorial Day! - and was able to relight it. Refused to charge us for the service call. After we decided to replace it, Jimmy was able to do so within 2 days and was willing to move/reinstall a cabinet that was secured to our garage wall in order to do so. read more

James, Jimmy, Jim, (he says I can call him whatever :) responded to my yelp inquiry for a quote. He said I can come by on Friday and HE DID! So that was a huge plus, said he'd be there, and he was. He met with my tenant and she showed him the things that had to be addressed. He called me after the walk through to give me a rundown since I am not in the area. One thing I had asked him was to take a look at the bathrooms and see what it would cost to remodel. He told me, wait until they move out, they are fine and it'll be a lot easier for everyone and less expensive. So honest! Now I'm really liking this guy. He said he can come back in a week and start the work. He coordinated with the tenant, showed up, had all the fixtures and items from home depot (where I had given him some ideas of what I wanted and he bought them) and was done in only a few hours. SO IMPRESSED! Because some of the work involved plumbing on old pipes there were a few leaks that he came back to fix on a FRIDAY night. SO FAST! I am not shy in saying, I love this guy.
