From my initial telephone contact with Karey and our video walk through with Jon I was very impressed. Likewise, I was very pleased with the initial cost estimate that was provided to us. We did our due diligence and obtained two other estimates, both higher than the one from Prince. In fact, one was twice as high. We were a bit concerned about the great disparity. However, having been impressed with Karey and Jon and reading about the fundamental principles of their business we elected to go with Prince. I cannot say enough about the crew that handled our move. They called ahead of time to advise they were on the way - and on time ! Carlo, the team leader, was polite, responsive to our requests, flexible to add on a few things we needed to move, and his supervision of the other three members of the crew : Omar, Jeff and Mario. The care that the entire crew gave to our furniture, including some large, heavy wood pieces with glass shelves and doors, was extraordinary. The move was handled efficiently, effectively and expeditiously. Nothing was damaged ! The crew was great in moving things around to get them in the correct location. We were very pleased ! I must point out that this move was so well handled from initial contact to the crew departing our new home And it was accomplished UNDER BUDGET !! Kudos to the entire Prince team. We are grateful. They didn't waste any time and communicated every step of the way. Frankly, they made the IMPOSSIBLE very possible. I am amazed at how efficient they are. Moving is a very stressful endeavor a month out just getting things ready and they made it seamless. Quick, efficient and under budget... yes, under my budget. I won't name names of other movers I've used and paid 30% more for less results. I have a 15 monitor work station that I am very hesitant about anyone touching let alone moving, but these guys handled it like a breeze, especially during a rainy day on top of everything else. I don't usually write reviews, but when a company EXCEEDS my expectations, it's a duty to let others KNOW. I would want the same as well, especially with so many moving companies out there and nightmare stories. These guys are LEGIT and DESERVE their reputation as a TOP PLAYER in the moving business. Sorry for the duplicate review, found my actual account lol.

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

They kept me informed throughout the process and were extremely trustworthy and personable, especially when I had to run out of the house to handle something leaving them alone and when I ended up having more items than originally planned for the move. I am extremely happy with the results and will definitely be using and recommending them to friends and family in the future. Thank you Carlos and Jonathan for your help! Overall, my move was a little over $800 (took about 5 hours with 2 movers for a local move from a 3-story townhome to a 2-story condo ) and I gave a generous tip considering the amount of work they did. Services: Furniture disassembly and reassembly, small furniture moving, wrapping pictures, mirrors and frames, moving storage boxes.

As I read all of the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I have to wonder how I could have had the…read moreexperience I had. Could I have avoided the stressful outcome I endured by just asking them upfront if they would move all of my boxes? If they would stay on the job until it was finished? It may sound silly to ask this of a moving company, but read on. I'll start by saying that the three men who handled my move were mostly professional and careful for the eleven or so hours that they worked. Also, I significantly underestimated the number of boxes I had to move. Serena was very helpful when I initially contacted the company. I provided an inventory of my belongings and some photographs and she worked out a quote that was agreeable. On moving day, her team showed up on time. They were all personable and receptive to my requests. By early afternoon, the moving van was filled up ... but there were still about a hundred boxes in the old house. Suppose the new house didn't have enough room for everything? I asked if they could help me take the remaining items to a storage facility. They pointed out that by the time the van was unloaded, regular offices hours at those facilities would be over. The new house was about a 20 minute drive from the old house. I left in my car and the movers left in their van at around the same time. I arrived at the new house expecting them to be right behind me. For quite a while, they didn't show. I tried calling them but they didn't answer. After about 45 minutes, they arrived. They took a break for lunch. That's fine. Why didn't they just tell me? I labelled each of my boxes with the name of the room where I wanted it to go. For the most part the movers put the boxes in the correct rooms. However, the next morning I could not locate my toothbrush, razor, and a number of other items so I had to purchase replacements. They also dented a wall when moving the couch. They compensated for this by deducting a credit from my total bill. Sometime between 7:30 and 8:00 pm, the men had finished unloading the moving van. The boxes were distributed fairly evenly throughout the house and there was still free space remaining in each room. The team leader started preparing my bill, so I thought they were done for the day. I settled the bill and anxiously tried to figure out how I was going to get the rest of my boxes moved. Was I going to call another moving company? Rent a cargo van? Over the next week and a half, I made ten trips, usually after work, from my old house to the new one, squeezing as many boxes as I could into my little sedan. I finally got the last of the boxes moved. Not fun for an old guy with a bad back. The entire episode left me exhausted and wondering if somehow things could have been handled better. A few days after completing the second stage of my move (and nearly two weeks after the first stage) I received a voice mail message from Serena. She wanted to know how things went. She already knew there had been an issue with me having too many boxes for one trip because one of the movers had called the office on the day of the move to advise her. In her message Serena said that the office was currently closed for a holiday but that I could call her on her dedicated line. Unfortunately, she didn't realize that her line had been switched off for the holiday and was not accepting messages. A day or two later we did manage to connect. Serena was careful to ask me just a few general questions so as to avoid suggesting that anything had been handled improperly. At the same time, she wanted to know what had happened and what options, if any, I was given. I eventually told Serena that none of the movers offered to make a second trip to collect the rest of my boxes and I believed that was because they did not work after 8:00 or 9:00 pm. Serena assured me that sometimes they worked past midnight. They keep working until the job was done. Except in my case. She also agreed that the three men could have moved the last set of boxes within 90 to 120 minutes. Serena told me she would discuss the matter with the movers and get back to me. But I never heard back from her. I still don't know what to make of this entire affair. I work in customer service and I use all of my resources to ensure the all of my clients' needs are fulfilled. That's what they depend on my for. Of course, if I knew there was an option of making one more relatively short trip to complete the job, I would have gladly taken it. The company would have gotten more money, the movers would have received larger tips, and I wouldn't have faced the ordeal of moving a hundred boxes a dozen at a time by myself. Ouch!

One of the items moved was a treadmill that was fully operational before the move. During the move, the treadmill was forced through a doorway rather than being disassembled. I have video of the process as well as evidence of paint transfer showing contact between the treadmill and the doorway. After the move, the treadmill no longer powered on and the display was damaged. When Mr. Craig later visited my home, he stated that someone would be sent out to repair the treadmill. However, I subsequently received a claim denial stating there was no evidence of mishandling or damage by the crew and that the company was not responsible for the malfunction. What I find most troubling is that the company inspected the home, accepted the treadmill for transport, moved it, and then later took the position that the treadmill should have been disassembled before being moved. If that was truly the concern, it should have been identified before the move took place. I paid for valuation coverage with a $500 deductible and attempted to resolve this matter directly with the company. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach a resolution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Craig Van Lines. I encourage anyone considering their services to carefully review all contract terms, document the condition of valuable items before a move, and record any concerns immediately. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions.

He then drove out the driveway and back in), and the 18-year-old who was working the second day was sent to drive a larger 26-foot truck to move my items. In any case, the vehicle was too large for a one-bedroom condo. I'm sorry I can't use the reviews that have 0 or negative stars. I had the PCS (Permanent Change of Station) move to a five-bedroom house, yet it took his team longer (6 hours total) to move a one-bedroom unit. This only serves to highlight how outstanding the Crain Van Lines crew is. I wasn't sure where the reviews with 4.5 stars came from on Google. You can try it out for yourself and see how it works out if you don't trust me. Best of luck!
