Meanwhile Yelp loves to filter out some of those amazingly good reviews and email business owners about how. for a fee, they can get those filtered reviews worked in to increase your ratings. Beware! And by all means do not rely exclusively on Yelp for your business choices. With this disclaimer stated, onto my review. I have been a customer of Blades for a solid 10 or more years. I come and go because I live quite a distance from the salon. However, when I want a drastic change or something uniquely me, Blades is the only salon I will visit and I almost always choose its owner, Jay as my stylist. To him, after a discussion, I typically allow full creative liberty l. Let me tell you this was only a blind act of trust the first time when I fell in love with his cuts, the salon and the professional and kind demeanor of every staff member I have ever encountered there. As a result I have become known as the woman who always has amazing hair; a thing I can take zero credit for except in my choice of salons. I hadn't visited the salon in about two years because again, I live over an hour away. I go be a local stylist who did a fair job of keeping hg my great ones and trimmed but had grown bored of the same haircut and style at every visit, even when I asked for change. Without hesitating I picked up the photo be and called Blades. They happened my fit me in for a cut with the owner very modestly priced at 80.00 within a week of my call. I walked out of that salon looking and feels by like a rock star. I'm have had manicures, pedicures and color treatments at Blades and each was a wonderful experiences I simply cannot rave enough about this salon. The entire model is based around be growth and keeping up with current trends. The locale, set inside of a Victorian house in the historic district of Wethersfield, enhances the experiences and takes you beyond a cut and style into the realm of day spa. In all the years I've been going to Blades it is the only salon I have seen every single slinger walk out of looming like the cover of a magazine and it is the ONLY place u will ever recommend without reservation to everyone I know.

I liked her casual conversation - not too forced and genuinely interested - and she kept me aware of what she was thinking since I was doing something relatively dramatic to my hair. For example, she asked me if I wouldn't mind keeping the front a little longer, since I had mentioned I wanted to be able to put my hair back. This salon is pretty big, with about 8 chairs. If you're looking to snag an appointment, Krista mentioned that Tuesday evenings were their slower time periods.

A great excuse shake things up and explore. I had Krista as my hair stylist and LOVED her. We highlighted and cut my hair. The angle and style is amazing. Tips- One down fall was that parking was tricky, so I suggest you park right in the back where Max Fish is to avoid getting caught in the square. I'm not a typical "give me a number 2 all the way around" kind guy, so I do care where I get it cut and for that matter, who cuts it. I've been going here for quite a while now. My commitment is shown in my willingness to, year after year, drive down here from Boston [North Easton, Quincy, Downtown Boston, and/or Medford, depending on the year] to get my hair snip snapped. Now that i'm temporarily local again, the distance has diminished quite a bit, but - I digress. Don't get me wrong, i've tried other places, but it never comes out as good. Hey, maybe I suck at explaining how I want my hair cut. I can live with that. My fault or not - they do good work. A lot of other places cut it too short, or cut it so straight I look like Lloyd Christmas on a good day. (Dumb & Dumber reference.) I like to come out with just a shorter version of the crazy spiked whateverness I walked in with. I can always tell they did a good job when I come home from getting a haircut and my dad looks at me, pauses, and then tells me that I should "go get a haircut." I would recommend Kiki and/or Rihanna (no, not THAT one) but anyone they hire would be a good choice. I like going to the same person because I can just go in and sit there and i don't have to explain a thing. On another note, Contours has been doing my mom's hair for years, and she does the whole 6-hour experience (cut, color, ....other hair things) and she's always happy - and trust me, if she's not happy, she would be the first one to tell you. The people are super friendly, there is always fresh coffee and some sort of food (bagels, pastries, and/or mini sandwiches) to munch on when you get there / before you leave. Not the cheapest place in the world, but in the grand scheme of things, $41 for a guy's haircut every 9 weeks isn't a big deal.
