Carole, who is the co-owner, changed my hairstyle (for the past 10 years) for the better and is very experienced (many years) and skilled at cutting, styling, and coloring! This a cozy, well kept, customer oriented lttle gem of a boutique shop, which is run in an extremely meticulous manner. Today, I enjoyed the creative and unique Christmas decorations and the homemade cookies and Christmas treats for customers brought in by a super organized Cathy! I feel pampered when I go there! If there is one word to be used to describe this salon, it is a very SPECIAL place and staffed by very SPECIAL people! I wholeheartedly recommend Studio 35, and assure you that it is a SPECIAL treat to be going there!! March 24, 2018 This is an update to my original review in 2014 of Studio 35 Salon in Newtown, PA. There are many beauty salons around, however, the real test is how much skill, talent, and knowledge does a stylist possess? There are not many who have the expertise of Carol Kelly Daversa, Co-owner of her awesome salon. I have been going there for almost 4 years and could never find a better, more skilled stylist than Carole. In addition to her work which is consistently excellent, Carole is a very gracious and precious friend. She is even-tempered and a very calming person. I have been to salons where there was not even one person who was capable in any way of styling and cutting hair or had the expertise shown by Carole! I am a very lucky person to be her client! I left unhappy with both my hair and the overall experience. I went in for a root touch-up, and the…read morefinal result was blotchy and uneven, nowhere near justifying the $206 I paid. What made it worse was being quoted one price beforehand, then being told at checkout it would be over $300 until I challenged it and pointed out the original quote. That felt misleading and very uncomfortable. The appointment also took an excessively long time and felt messy and unprofessional, with foils falling out and bleach splattering on me. During the process, I repeatedly pointed out that the bleaching looked uneven, but I was reassured toner would fix it and it would turn out fine. It did not. I was very upset with the result and cried when I got home. What was especially frustrating was being told before the service was even underway that for my hair to "look good," I would need to pay around $600, which felt shocking and unreasonable. I declined. When I got home, I contacted them again about the result and was only offered a consultation to come back in. It felt unempathetic and seemed like I would need to spend hundreds more again just to make my hair presentable. I ended up going to a different salon the next day to have it corrected, and they were visibly shocked by the condition of the bleach job, especially in the back where I hadn't been able to see how uneven it was. I told the new salon I had a budget, and they worked within it and put in a lot of effort to correct the color and make it presentable again. I've had my roots done at other salons for much less, with significantly better results. I expected transparency, professionalism, and quality, and unfortunately did not receive any of those here.
