I saw flooring such as tiles, rugs and I saw framed artwork which was difficult to browse through. There are dressers that would be great for a diy project. We've all heard of Habitat for Humanity and the amazing homes they build for the underprivileged. The sale of these items goes toward building even more Habitat homes and donations are the way they stock the shelves. I was surprised to see the large selection available and shocked at how affordable the prices are. Most of the furniture is located just as you enter and toward the front of the store. Sofas, love seats, coffee/end tables, entertainment centers and most things desired to furnish a living room, family or game room can be found here. Formal to dine-in kitchen tables, kitchen islands and china cabinets are available in several styles and finishes. Some of the wood furniture had a blemish or two but most was just normal wear. A few pieces would make great projects. Laminate flooring, lighting, shower stalls and tubs, patio doors and bathroom vanities are a few of the other items I found. The merchandise changes from day-to-day so pop in often if you looking for something specific. Donations can be dropped off Monday through Saturday 10 am to 6 pm or schedule pickup for large items or bulk donations.

The clerks welcomed me when I entered and asked if they could help me. They told me about sales in many booths. Most booths were had clearance prices with prices up to 50% off. A friendly old shaggy dog makes its way past customers. The shop is filled with soaps, candles, jewelry and primitive antiques. I searched through every nook and cranny. Each room is creatively decorated. I found a Christmas ornament that I couldn't live without. Actually, I found several, but settled on one. The shop was filled with laughter, as clerks removed ornaments from trees. This made me happy. There is a restroom filled with whimsical antiques. The shop is a little difficult to see from the road, but they had banners out to pull people in. Parking is somewhat limited, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot. Well worth a visit.

You can spend hours going booth to booth and still not see it all. This place is more than an indoor flea market. For me it was a walk down memory lane, seeing some of the same dishes or china that were in my home growing up. For my granddaughter, Treasures is a place where she found some old barbies, including clothes and accessories for a fraction of what they would cost new. For my grandson, it is a place to find cool IT accessories for his iPhone or used old swords/ knives which he is into right now. During several visits, I found two dressers and two side tables that were well made and fit the bill for what I was needing. The furniture room quickly became my favorite room in the store. One of my favorite booths is an extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers. The pair I bought look like bowling pins. I have been to Treasures a handful of times so far and yet each time I go I notice things I failed to see during prior visits plus more items are being brought in regularly. The Wild Goose Exchange is a cool vintage store / thrift store that started in Wisconsin, but they branched out and now there is also a store in Indy. I can't be arsed right now to find out why it's called The Wild Goose Exchange, but there are cement geese in the store -- you know, the kind that your grandmother has that she decorates for each holiday -- which is a cute and whimsical touch. This store has everything: women's clothing, men's clothing, accessories, shoes, jewelry and lots of hats. No kids' clothing, though. I saw a couple of graphic tees that I wanted, but I ended up purchasing an electric blue corduroy jacket, which will be perfect for the fall weather coming up. They have so many jackets here. This is the place to find something old and used to cover you up. The prices are great, considering. Sometimes, vintage clothing can be marked way the heck up. But the prices at The Wild Goose Exchange are fair. They also curate their stock really well! As I was scanning the racks and pawing through the clothing, I could tell that the items in the store were intentionally chosen. All of the items here are straight-up hits. Because The Wild Goose Exchange is located on Broad Ripple Avenue and there is no street parking, your best bet for parking is in back of the store, near the Vogue Theatre. If you park there, you can either enter The Wild Goose Exchange through the back near The Vogue, or walk around to the front. Two options for entering!

Yeah, I probably am. Anyway, that fun little bit aside that review made me want to make a stop to visit this new joint that I'd noticed but no really paid attention to. I'm not exactly the vintage shop targeting audience. After all, I AM vintage. Sigh. The Wild Goose Exchange started with spots in Appleton and Kenosha, Wisconsin and is now recently opened inside this Broad Ripple avenue storefront that is a little tricky to find and park for but definitely worth the effort. Vintage shops are a little weird for me. I like bargains, but I also feel like if it's too much of a bargain I start thinking it's just plain cheap. It's a fine balance. The Wild Goose Exchange really seems to find that balance quite well. They carry men's clothing, women's clothing, accessories, hats, watches, jackets, and a little bit more. As Nicole S. points out, this seems remarkably well curated. Don't be thinking this is your average thrift shop. It's not. It's also not really a pretentious vintage shop either. It feels communal with a strong emphasis on collaboration and giving back. The entrance is a little tricky in terms of accessibility, though it is what I'd consider accessible. The interior is definitely much better. I've always liked this spot and they use it well. As should be obvious, "wild goose" is a theme here. Hear me out. If you visit their website, there's a lot of "Where's the wild goose?" While I have zero clue why they went with this theme, I kept thinking to myself "wild goose chase" - which is, in fact, a fairly vintage saying. While I don't have a fashionable bone in my body (c'mon, you know it's true if you've met me), I really dug quite a few things here and items were in good condition and fairly priced. Parking is always a little tricky in Broad Ripple, but I find once I do it it's much easier than I expected. The Wild Goose Exchange feels like it belongs in Broad Ripple and I'd love to see its arrival trigger other arrivals around this area. Have not had an issue with the workers, but I did have to go in to have an item price corrected (charged $15.50 instead of $1.50). It was an easy process and they fixed the problem without issue.
