The Gulch is one of the most popular districts of Nashville that continues to grow with new eateries, experiences, and offerings with each year. Located just southwest of downtown between midtown and broadway, The Gulch is an expansive, but equally quaint part of the city that is classic mixed use of residential and retail. Main reason you may find me in The Gulch is for food. There is a solid variety of eateries from local casual spots to more established dining, sandwich shops and even a few spots for dessert. While that's my reason, most tourists find their way to The Gulch for the famous wing mural next to Biscuit Love. Got to get them wings while in Nashville! Outside of the food and wings, there are lots of local and chain businesses and services in the area including self-care, medical offices and of course clothing boutiques. Additionally, Noble Park is in the middle of The Gulch. It's a really cool urban space that features a good green space, seating, music and a water wall. It is also host to markets and small events throughout the year. Parking is plentiful in The Gulch, buts its all paid. There are garages, lots and street parking. Overall, The Gulch is a cool area of the city that I don't find myself in too often, but when I do, I always enjoy it! read more

Visited The Gulch for a few hours while in town and enjoyed walking around and shopping. There is some nice dining here with some great places for brunch, pastries, dinner, snacks, etc. You name it, you'll probably find it here. There are a number of nice hotels - The Thompson is here and has a nice bar and lobby restaurant as well as some other notable ones. This part of downtown has the hip/cool shopping. There is a Winky Lux (the only store in America they told me), some fine ladies clothing, a Lululemon, a nice furniture store, nice men's clothing, etc. It's not huge, it's easily walkable in an hour or so and you can then have something to eat. read more

The Gulch is a very hip and trendy neighborhood not far from downtown Nashville. There are a lot of restaurants, boutiques, bars, and coffee shops. We rented an Air Bnb at a condo in The Gulch and it was awesome. The neighborhood is very walkable and we felt safe while we were there. I saw photos of the Wings mural on Pinterest, but didn't realize it was down the street from our condo. We happened to walk by one night and the line was very short. We waited about 5 minutes and while I was getting my photo taken, the light above the mural came on so you can definitely get photos at night. The lines are much shorter in the evening. We had breakfast at Biscuit Love and it was really good! We were able to beat the breakfast rush, but by 10 am, the line was down the sidewalk. I enjoyed my stay in The Gulch and will probably stay in this neighborhood again the next time I'm in town. read more

The Gulch is awesome! If you're visiting Nashville, I absolutely recommend visiting this area! There's so much to see and do. There are fashionable hotels to stay in, boutiques to shop at, awesome restaurants to dine at, cool bars to grab a drink in, local art to check out, and there's so much more! This area seriously has everything. When I visit the Nashville office of my company I always park at The Frist Art Museum, which is nearby. From here it's easy to pop over to The Gulch, whether you're walking or driving. If you're in Nashville, be sure to head over to The Gulch to see what you can find to see, do, and eat or drink! This is where I have spent most of my time when in Nashville to visit. In recent years it has gotten much trendier and fancier. I don't love that, but I don't hate it either. It is just different. Cool restaurants, bars, coffee shops and hotels have popped up. My guess is it is also bustling during night-life hours. If you are interested in living it up in Nashville while also avoiding the Broadway scene, this seems like a good choice to explore. read more

Just make this your place to visit. For me the angel wings were on the top of my list. Then all the amazing shops, restaurants and the scooters made for a fun afternoon in the rain. Wink had cute little selfie booths, yummy chicken soup from the Greek restaurant and fun laughs at Urban Outfitters. Plus the decor from Modern furniture store made for a fun filled afternoon visit at the Gluch. Did I mention the yummy beers? Tennessee Beer Works is a little walk but we made it. read more

Want a "easy" enjoyable late afternoon outing ? Take an Uber to the Gulch in Nashville and just browse around and have a glass of wine in a place that looks interesting, if the menu looks good just have a light appetizer and then browse some more and pick another spot to try. Enjoy the people watching and the bar tenders and the wine/cheese etc. When you have had enough catch an Uber and have a final glass at home with any left over you boxed up. Fun to do alone or with an entertaining friend. Lesson: you do not have to do a lot of planning, scheduling and expense to have memorable evening. Try the Dutch for sure. read more

This is where the iconic wings wall is: there was a literally line for hours while we stopped but we hit up the other wall across the street instead. Free parking for 1 hour. Great area for a quiet stay on Nashville. So many places to eat and drink. It's not the party central area of Nashville which is either a positive or negative depending on what you expect to get of the city. I'd you're a foodie, it's a great area. The well-known Biscuit Love has it's main location here. There's also Milk and Honey, Burger Republic, several other restaurants, bars, and breweries. There are a few apparel stores like Urban Outfitters, Loft,and some boutiques. Some cons of the area are how the walking crosswalks make an annoying chirping noise when you can walk. There is no bodega or drugstore and reasonably priced market nearby. The Turnip Truck is on the pricey end for groceries. The Gulch has mix of a local and tourist vibe. A place like Biscuit Love will have a line at all times. The breweries seem like a place for locals to gather. This area also doesn't play non-stop country music like other places in Nashville, which is a plus in my books. read more

The Gulch is a very nice place to visit in Nashville. As other reviewers have stated, it is a nice neighborhood with lots of neat shops and attractions. Parking is plenty as you can park in the parking garages. The one beautiful thing about the garages is that you can park for free for one hour. A good way to see the sights and not pay for parking. The What Lifts you Wings are awesome and kudos to the designer: Kelsey for her magnificent creation. They are truly a sight to see. If you are in the Nashville area, be sure to visit the Gulch and be sure to see the What Lifts you Wings. A Faux urban disaster of classically poor Nashville fiscal planning. An extremely dangerous, poorly designed street set up with traffic lanes not wide enough to accommodate the continual double parking of trucks and self entitled luxury car owners. Service in most of the establishments is poor to horrible, so at your own risk. The Gulch also has the only coffee shop in the known world, from Italy to Cuba to Oslo, that does not have cream or half and half for their overpriced coffee. Hilariously after several failed over pretentious awful coffee shops that couldn't make it in a prime spot, Starbucks has now taken it over. I had no less than two near fatal encounters of drivers who did not see me or just run over pedestrians at will. This isn't the real Nashville; it's a faux version of a New York City block. Ten Years ago the Gulch was fabulous, in the days of 12th and Porter, days long gone. Some of the restaurants might be ok, but it's unlikley I would ever try more of them after the disaster at the four I have, which shall remain unnamed since they all will likley close within two years. You will miss nothng if you don't see The Gulch. A cab ride through will suffice, and I do recommend a cab there and back. Taking your car, especially at night will be an accident crapshoot. read more
