Cool looking at some of the architecture. Cool Halloween decorations, logos benches, etc. Their website has much more info, but too much to cut and paste. You will just have to click the link yourself. Atmosphere - The best part of Germantown was the "Art Walk," the murals and sculptures. I should have taken pictures. Decent places to eat and drink, sorry we only went to the breweries... Service - Good, depends on where you eat and drink or what you buy. See other Yelp reviews. Just north of the capital and the Farmers Market and South of Metro Center, it's a wonderful neighborhood worthy of a leisurely afternoon stroll or a visit to one of it's lovely restaurants or shops. You will know you are there when you find row housing and brick sidewalks. The Germantown Cafe, Monells, and new hot dog place are among worthy contenders for your visit. They also have an Oktoberfest with lots of beer, polka, and kraut which always attracts a crowd. The neighborhood itself has exploded in the last few years so there are wonderful options for places to live there as well. It is the only neighborhood with some stunning views of the capital in addition to the downtown skyline.

Located just southwest of downtown between midtown and broadway, The Gulch is an expansive, but equally quaint part of the city that is classic mixed use of residential and retail. Main reason you may find me in The Gulch is for food. There is a solid variety of eateries from local casual spots to more established dining, sandwich shops and even a few spots for dessert. While that's my reason, most tourists find their way to The Gulch for the famous wing mural next to Biscuit Love. Got to get them wings while in Nashville! Outside of the food and wings, there are lots of local and chain businesses and services in the area including self-care, medical offices and of course clothing boutiques. Additionally, Noble Park is in the middle of The Gulch. It's a really cool urban space that features a good green space, seating, music and a water wall. It is also host to markets and small events throughout the year. Parking is plentiful in The Gulch, buts its all paid. There are garages, lots and street parking. Overall, The Gulch is a cool area of the city that I don't find myself in too often, but when I do, I always enjoy it!

It has a mix of recording studios, record label offices, radio stations, and music licensing firms. Our bus driver mentioned some and I tried to remember the names of them but here are a few from world-renowned hit machines to hidden gems: BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) - BMI represents all genres of music ASCAP (American Society of Composers) - Emmylou Harris, Brad Paisley Authors and Publishers - there are too many publishing companies in Nashville to name but these are a few: Randall House, The United Methodist Publishing House, Victory Records, American Songwriter, Mojo Music & Media SESAC (Society of European Stage Authors and Composers) - music licensing NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) - organization that works to help songwriters from their very first phone call to their first cut, publishing deal, and award Word Music - a Christian faith-based entertainment company representing Francesca Battistelli, for King & Country, Switchfoot, Skillet, Sidewalk Prophets, Chris August, Big Daddy Weave, etc Curb Music - American record label who had many successes including Chet Atkins, Bellamy Brothers, Sammy Davis Jr., Exile, Four Seasons, Gloria Gaynor, Lee Greenwood, Wynonna Judd, The Judds, Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, Roy Orbison, Lou Rawls, Righteous Brothers, LeAnn Rimes, Neil Sedaka, Mel Tillis, Hank Williams Jr... just too many! Warner Brothers Music - Country Music Record Label. While no longer in use, you can take a tour of it. Music Row is where the magic happens--where artists record their hits, where industry professionals work behind the scenes, and where the history of American music is preserved and celebrated. Quality/Quantity - Cool walking around seeing all the different studios here. It would be nice to get a tour and learn more...? Also had a decent small "bar" and "Honky Tonk" scene. But I choose to just hang out at Tailgate Brewery instead. Well we did walk that small strip. "Broadway" street is also not too far away if you really want to party! There is some art, scriptures, etc. also. Not sure if I took those pictures. We were told October was a perfect time to visit. :) Atmosphere - See above. Service - Good. Price - Depends on what you buy, eat, or drink. Owner Comment - A cool relaxing way to end our trip, thank you.

Yes, there were some fun Bourbon Street (NOLA) parallels and energy, and I thought that the overall Cajun culture was cooler there, and the music (that I like) better here. And hats off to the hardworking folks that help keep this place safe and clean. We arrived in Nashville mid-week and make it a point to hear our music mostly in the daytime. We thought things were a little quieter and laid back, particular in our music choices of Roberts Western World, Ole Red, and the 1st Floor of Chiefs. We also very much enjoyed the Mud Bug Stompers one evening at the Acme and then went off-Broadway one evening at Alley Taps and another time at a more distant Listening Room venue. Going into the weekend and starting on Thursday night, the crowds on the streets and some of the bars were "wall to wall" starting mid-morning. But in the early morning (as seen from Chief's rooftop bar), things seemed so calm and peaceful, like a calm before a storm.

We walked along Broadway twice -- once around 3pm, because we were in the area, and then later that night, around 10pm. I was surprised that it was way busier at 3pm than at 10pm, but it was a Sunday. I wouldn't go out of my way to walk along Broadway, but if in the area, it's fun to look at all the neon signs.
