I believe my recent order were birria tacos and I decided to try a brownie. Tacos were great and wow to the brownie I swear it is the best brownie I've ever had! It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect texture! Even my mom who normally doesn't like brownies when I gave her a piece said "mmm que Rico mija!" Oh I love their aguas frescos too! Everyone kept saying "get the loaded potato," but I went for the three-meat plate instead: brisket, sausage, and ribs with potato salad and green beans. The food? Huge portions, fresh, and hot -- you're not leaving hungry. The sausage? Absolute standout. Best I've had in Victoria from a BBQ joint since Mumford's. Brisket was solid, ribs were good, sides hit the comfort zone. If Mumford's is the refined classic and Uncle Mutt's is the hometown hug, RNC is the solid weekend warrior -- generous, smoky, and worth the repeat. Call first...they are open until they sell out. If you want a more detailed version, keep going. ;-) On our way home from fishing at the coast, we stopped for a late lunch with my daddy. We saw this place last time we were in town, and being the crawfish lovers we are, wanted to try it. Needless to say we were super happy they were open today. Four of us showed up with an ice chest (it's BYOB), ready to roll up our sleeves. They only have outside seating on white plastic picnic tables. Most tables are under a large canopy, but some are in the sun. We were lucky to get under the tent AND it was a pleasant day. You go up to the window and order, sit down and they bring your food. We got a shrimp boil (served in a white clamshell) and six pounds of crawfish (served in double plastic bags inside a big paper bag) . They provide you with boxes for the shells, plenty of paper towels and wet wipes. We loved the set up, people were friendly, great vibe of folks...but we were most concerned with crawfish. We love crawfish, have our own boils, and we're picky. There are only a handful of places we really like in the Austin area, so I was admittedly a little skeptical. Holy mud bugs...the FLAVOR!! After a few bites, we picked up on what was a tad different than our normal crawfish...mustard. Yup...mustard! Don't freak! It was subtle, played well with all the other flavors and we LOVED it. So much we ordered three more pounds AND we're playing with our recipe to incorporate it. They don't offer different spice levels, but no need...the flavor was absolutely perfect with just the right amount of kick. We ordered with potatoes, corn and sausage...worth the extra $. Sausage was VERY good! We're already planning on making it back to Victoria before the end of crawfish season. I typed this on our way back to Austin and the amount of time we've spent talking about what we ate is a great indication of how much we loved it! So go... suck some heads and pinch some tails.
