They are open for lunch and we came while visiting family. The food was wonderful and staff was so sweet. Don't miss the poblano soup.

I'm frequently driving between Victoria and San Antonio and am always on the lookout for new places…read moreto try along the way. I've visited the Shiner brewery before and still had a few beverage tokens left over, so on a hot Friday afternoon I decided to put them to good use and finally give the BBQ a try. The main entrance was under renovation, so I had to enter through the gift shop. Once inside, I was immediately greeted by friendly staff, and the restaurant itself was very clean and well organized. I ordered the spicy sausage sandwich with a side of coleslaw. David cut up two full sausage links for the sandwich, and it was absolutely loaded with meat. I added onions, pickles, and jalapeños--all included--which was a nice touch. I also requested an extra sauce, something that wasn't offered during checkout but was accommodated when I asked. I took my sandwich outside to enjoy the live music and redeem one of my brewery tokens, which made for a great afternoon. The sausage was the highlight of the meal. It had a good level of spice, was cooked well, and the portion size was generous. The BBQ sauce was a little thinner than I prefer, but it still paired well with the sandwich overall. The coleslaw was the weak point. It tasted more like a lightly pickled slaw and felt somewhat one-dimensional without much else to elevate it. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Between the friendly staff, live music, brewery atmosphere, and solid sausage sandwich, it was a worthwhile stop. I'll definitely be back to use my remaining tokens, although I'm not sure the BBQ alone would be enough reason for me to make a special trip.
