The turkey was fresh and tender, the lettuce crisp, and the side of fruit and its "dip," which was unusual in that it was a solid rather than liquid, was delicious. The first thing a diner sees upon walking in is a case full of small cupcakes, and we often had to choose one for dessert. One of the best things about the place, though, is that the restaurant is in an old house, with tables set up in several rooms, so we often were able to eat in a room we didn't have to share. I've visited the Shiner brewery before and still had a few beverage tokens left over, so on a hot Friday afternoon I decided to put them to good use and finally give the BBQ a try. The main entrance was under renovation, so I had to enter through the gift shop. Once inside, I was immediately greeted by friendly staff, and the restaurant itself was very clean and well organized. I ordered the spicy sausage sandwich with a side of coleslaw. David cut up two full sausage links for the sandwich, and it was absolutely loaded with meat. I added onions, pickles, and jalapeños--all included--which was a nice touch. I also requested an extra sauce, something that wasn't offered during checkout but was accommodated when I asked. I took my sandwich outside to enjoy the live music and redeem one of my brewery tokens, which made for a great afternoon. The sausage was the highlight of the meal. It had a good level of spice, was cooked well, and the portion size was generous. The BBQ sauce was a little thinner than I prefer, but it still paired well with the sandwich overall. The coleslaw was the weak point. It tasted more like a lightly pickled slaw and felt somewhat one-dimensional without much else to elevate it. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Between the friendly staff, live music, brewery atmosphere, and solid sausage sandwich, it was a worthwhile stop. I'll definitely be back to use my remaining tokens, although I'm not sure the BBQ alone would be enough reason for me to make a special trip.

We asked them to cook it for us and they did. It was extremely, dry, had very little chicken, and had burnt edges. I was embarrassed to display it on our dining table. Thank God, we had made extra gravy to pour over each serving. There was much left over. I apologized to my family. If we order from you, again I will be making extra chicken to put into it and will be cooking it, myself. My husband wants to order from the Blessing Hotel from now on.

This was very important to our family as our Mother was an amazing home cook and we wanted to honor that. I am happy to say that Jack did a phenomenal job with our request.
