The food is always delicious and consistent! We've never had a bad experience. Love, love, love!!

Solid Tex-Mex spot in Bay City. They have a big menu with just about anything you're craving, including a wild assortment of margaritas from the normal lime to mango chamoy rimmed ritas and more. Service was friendly and they checked on us constantly to make sure we didn't need a refill or wanted to order something else. If you've got the itch for chips and salsa, a plate of enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, etc. or couple margaritas, you'll be happy here. read more

My husband picked up ToGo order on Mother's Day around noon. $65. He ordered 8oz queso, 8oz green sauce, 8oz hot sauce, Two 3 cheese enchilada dinners with extra sauce on top. Got home & opened the food Burned enchiladas, almost no sauce on them & 1 small bag of chips. Every time I visit family in Bay City we eat at La Casona. Such a fun atmosphere and all staff are so friendly! We have our favorites of course but tonight I had the Del Rio. The cheese enchilada was perfect and the fajita taco had a great flavor. Rice, guacamole, and cheese dip were the sides. Gabriel is awesome! read more

La Casona is the best Mexican restaurant we have here in Bay City, as far as I'm aware of at the moment. Here has a family atmosphere with great service and a choice of wonderful foods and don't forget the drinks from their bar. Super surprise for birthdays! And I usually end up taking a "doggy" bag home for later. Free help yourself ice cream on the way out, if you have room... Come anytime! Always great! read more

Good TexMex :) I like the soup that comes with allot of the meals and the stuffed avocado. I'm not usually a huge fan of rice, but I am of theirs! The jalapeño fajitas are really tasty. Really can't go wrong here. read more

I had the Chimichanga Regular. The amount of meat it contains is impressive for the price. The refried beans are different from any I've had previously and also the most delicious! The service was outstanding and food was delivered promptly even though it was quite busy. 10/10 recommend and will definitely patronize again. read more

Service is very fast, friendly and attentive. Nice sizable decorated interior with limited outside seating. In this part of Texas, that just makes sense. Solid standard TexMex restaurant. Good size menu. Seasoning is mild. Being from south Texas, we tend to like our TexMex with a bit more seasoning, but it is good. Did have to add salt and added a side of jalepenos. Salas is served warm. American enchiladas are well made. Nice touch. Good size portions. What is unique about this place, (as it is in Bay City), is they do serve crawfish when in season. Very cool. read more

The food is always fresh and cooked just right, the service is excellent, and I love the ambience. Relaxing, romantic, fun, and perfect for all ages. The restaurant is always clean everywhere, including the bathrooms. Management makes sure all customers are taken care of and given the best service. After living in Matagorda county for 10 years, La Casona is the ONLY place I have always enjoyed every single meal. read more

Didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised, good Tex Mex food . Chill vibe. Good service.

The place looked great, the server acted great, but the food was a let down. The margarita special was awesome. So, the bartender is fantastic. The chips were ok. The shrimp fajitas were a train wreck. The vegetables were kind of ok, but the shrimp were WAY over cooked. Worse, they came in the shell so being over cooked made it almost impossible to remove from the shells. I think 1/3 to half was left behind. I felt like just eating the whole thing and spitting out the shells. They looked awesome being in the shell, but it was a terribly difficult dining experience. I hope they abandon that. I'm optimistic that if you stay away from the seafood that it may be a better place. read more

This used to be a lot better !! I have been to 3 different La Casona locations and this one is not nearly as good! I don't know what the difference is but the other La Casana locations are A Lot better!! Lake Jackson and Angleton have phenomenal service, great drinks and really good food!! I do NOT recommend the Bay City location. The food lacks flavor, served very quickly! Too quick, obviously it was microwaved. The Margarita was terrible. Watered down and also lacked flavor. The waitress asked how the margarita was. I told her it was not good and she said oh sorry about that and walked away. I will not return to this location. I got sick the past 2 times we ate there. Bad meat I think?? The texture was off for what Should have been beef fajita. read more

OMG! The carne guisada was absolutely amazing! The best I've ever had. Homemade flour tortillas and on Monday's the margaritas are on special which are excellent! The bartender, "Mama" was great! Thanks you! read more

Recommended by my hotel's desk clerk during a business trip to Bay City. Great service, great staff, great atmosphere. I ordered shrimp enchiladas. A light cream sauce on top made it a great meal. Not too heavy - just right. No complaints - I'd go back the next time I'm in town. read more

The good part- A bus boy his name was either Juan or Jesus. He was so attentive to what we needed/asked for. He was friendly and never had this "ugh attitude ". Food wasn't bad and the chips were good. The bad part- We had two waiters a male and female. Bad part was waiting for our watered down drinks. They kept telling us they're coming. Finally when they did bring them the ice was melted. We asked idk how many times and how long we waited for a cup of ice. Only way we got one was when the bus boy decided to ask us how we were. It also took forever ...for the "waiters" to come and ask if we needed anything. Mind you, it was only two groups in the patio. Guess who got all the attention. Not us but guess 2 people tip vs a table of 6 is more important. Will I go back? Probably not because the service was just bad. Not to be a Nagging Nancy and wanting to speak to the manager. I just don't need to see a waiter have this attitude like you're bothering them or like they've had a long day and it was barely midday. read more

Great lunch today, started with fajita meat queso, delicious! Had the cheese enchiladas with rice and Charro beans! It was all amazing especially the Charro beans! Make plans to enjoy this comfortable restaurant soon. read more

We frequent this establishment when we have work in town, but it's been 2 years since we last got to eat here and it was amazing as always. Their crawfish is always well seasoned and fair priced. They peel easily and all the sauces they offer is awesome. Their other menu dishes are great as well we love their Chicken Alexander. Staff is always quick nice and friendly. The most important is the place is clean I'm talking squeaky clean. One of my most favorite places to eat. I always look forward to coming back! read more

The food was great and the service was wonderful, would definitely eat there again and recommend to friends!

Food and service are great, but the noise level is the pits!!!! Drinks are quite tasty, good bartenders.(Mixologist?)

By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in a town full of Mexican restaurants. The service is top notch, from management, servers, bussers, bartenders... their staff is amazing. The food is even better. Fast, delicious, and friendly environment. My family chooses la casona for all celebrations! read more

This is about as good as it will ever get in a small town like this everything from the service the food and the interior are pretty much an upgrade compared in a 10 mile radius. At this moment don't let the front for you that is under construction and small parking lot, inside it you are transformed into something in the equivalent of a casa ole. The servers here provide the same service that you would find in a big city and there are a lot of establishments within the 10 mile radius that could benefit by learning from these people. The food is hot, plentiful and served with very good presentation notes, the pricing will be about par with this I must add. Cleanliness is an automatic here, it's not spit and shine but it will blow your normal franchise out of the water when you notice there are not any water spots on the ceiling, unsightly spots on the walls and even very clean restrooms, in fact I think they are new. Crawfish season was on Thursdays so you'll have to come back next season to take advantage of this. I believe the waitress or hostess told me the price was $17 for a pound and a half of crawfish, corn and potatoes but I stand to be corrected. read more

We're in Bay City every couple of weeks and stay away from the restaurant chains. Shop local, eat local. We tried this place and have mixed opinions. We ordered of the lunch menu and hoped for the best. I ordered a burger (rare) and fries. The burger came out well done, the bottom bun was completely soaked in grease and there were 8 (yes, I counted) French fries. We were short on time, so I dealt with it. read more
