I scheduled an appointment with Michael, for my dad. Scheduled it the day before, and came in today. My dad is in a wheelchair, he just got done with surgery from a month ago, he had half of his foot amputated from a foot infection, so he's been recovering from it this whole time and he hasn't been able to get a fresh haircut in a while. He's been staying at Hayward Gardens Post Acute, the center across the street. So we wheeled him across the street and this shop treated us so special. Michael along with Joe and a few other gentlemen barbers helped pick my dad up and put him on the chair, Michael gave him a 5 star hot towel shave and made him look 10 years younger. I showed up and didn't realize I didn't complete my booking and he still was able to make time to cut my sons hair. Made an appt for my little brother w/ Jonathan for specialty cut. My brother is special needs he tends to move around a lot , smack things at times; his basically very unpredictable. TLDR, last haircut was SO bad that the barber didn't take my money and I'm posting my first ever review. So I tried this barbershop 3 times, with 3 different barbers, and had probably the worst 3 haircuts of my life. My first haircut was with Jonathan. I showed him multiple pictures of how I wanted my hair to come out and even showed him pictures of hairstyles I did not want. For reference, the haircuts I showed him were akin to a modern mullet, with a front fringe that is a bit overgrown. I wanted the lengths in the front to be varied and showed a picture of an Edgar cut to explain exactly what I didn't want, a straight line across my forehead. Of course, at the end he shows me the mirror and I've got an Edgar. And my c cups are pushed back for whatever reason and so when they grow in a couple days later I already am in need of another haircut. The next haircut was with Jose. All in all, he gave me a decent haircut. The only complaint I have is that he was very rough. I genuinely left with sore ears because of how long he spent on my fade and how rough he was with my ears. Additionally, when lining up the back of my neck he was very heavy handed with the clippers and I had a red raised line across the back of my neck for the next week. My final haircut was with Joe. I went in and asked for a trim and some texture. I explained that I liked my hair as is, just needed it cleaned up. Before going in, my hair reached a bit past my eyebrows without pulling it down. All I really wanted was my hair out of my eyes. Joe cut 3 inches off my hair in the front, took 3 long phone calls during my haircut, and spent and hour and a half on what should be a basic burst fade and trim. I mean genuinely, it came out so bad he almost immediately told me I didn't even need to pay him. I really wanted to like this barbershop. It's nice inside, it's close to my home, they have great hours, and are appointment only. But after 3 tries with 3 different barbers and disappointing haircuts each time, I won't be coming back. read more

Same thing happened to me. The app schedulocity isn't friendly I completed my appointment and saw the booking button and apparently it didn't go through. But unfortunately I was not accommodated for my disabled adult son. I tried to book with a Joe as my other sons and friends recommended him. But he wasn't available. So I decided to look for an alternative and found The Groomsmen, from the get go joe was responsive and directed me to their new scheduling system online. I made my appointment, showed up with a couple minutes to spare (Joe was just finishing up an appointment) and was immediately called to the chair at my appointment time. My haircut experience was instantly elevated with the the amount of time I saved and the professionalism received, also my haircut was sooo dope . I'd refer anyone to this barbershop and Joe. My husband has been driving all the way to Redwood City for his haircut so I've been trying to find something in the East Bay. He scheduled his appointment online with Ivan. After his appointment he came home looking so handsome with a nice fresh cut. He was very happy with the results. been a regular client of Eddy's for about 4 months.. talented barber, but customer service always fluctuated and ultimately that should never be the case. A lot of factors where tied into this yelp review, so I'm not writing this based on 1 bad experience.. I'm writing this because I've finally been fed up and today was a perfect example of why I'm moving on and warning everyone who's reading this.. Also, a shout out to the barbers who work here.. I'd like to say I'm a pretty patient and understanding guy, but I know there's other customers who wouldn't have taken my situation lightly, so this is a fair warning to you guys that y'all need to make some adjustments for the future of your business. 1) every time I've come in for my appointment I try to arrive at least 5-10 min before hand. every.single.time I have waited AT LEAST 10-20 min PASS my appt time. I wish I could be making this up .. but I've always given eddy the benefit of the doubt because I know he gives a good cut. But 20 min passed my appt time and no sorry? (Not just once, but multiple times) cmon man.. 2) they use "schedulicity" which is a easy and convenient way for customers to book appts. Again, I've been coming here for almost 4 months at least twice a month, and I've never had an issue scheduling/cancelling/rescheduling. Until today.. I schedule my appt for Thursday the 30th for 5:30p two days before ( Tuesday). I get a text from eddy at 4:30p today ( Wednesday) saying "his schedule overlapped when I made an appt, I'm sorry but I gotta cancel if you want I can put you for a different time just lmk" I reply a few min after.. no problem, requesting if he can put me on another slot w him or another barber. No reply. I finally have to text him back asking for an update at 7:15p ( 3hrs later). He replies w "I have nothing after 5:30 and all the other barbers are booked." As a client who's been coming only to him for the past 4 months, you would think he would try to accommodate me a little better.. maybe I'm old school and expect better customer service especially to regular clients, but damn.. I've been nothing but patient and respectful, but unfortunately this was the last straw. I appreciated my time coming here.. the other barbers were cool, never disrespectful.. but Eddy, I'm hoping you develop some better customer service especially to dudes who've been constantly supporting you by booking w you. You may give a good haircut, but that only goes so far in this business in the long run. Good luck to y'all, unfortunately.. you've lost a loyal client. read more
