Boston Barber is still the place I go to in the East Bay after all these years. Schys is my guy however I gotta give a shout out to Matt and Kevin who are always spot on with my cuts whenever Schys is out of town. The vibe in the shop is always dope whether they put on movies, food and travel vlogs, or YouTube DJ mixes. Thankful for this barbershop for getting me right with the fresh fades! read more

Had a haircut emergency today. My son got his picture day schedule all wrong and that meant me having not find a barber in literally less than 3 hours!! I literally called 15-20 places and no one was even picking up their phones. I was scrambling trying to find a last minute barber which is so hard to do but luckily Matt picked up! He was literally the only one in HAYWARD that picked up!! Had an availability and we are so thankful he accommodated my son hours before picture day! Matt was very detailed, very professional, and easy to talk to. His shop is very clean and even has a nice sofa to lounge and a 72" inch tv. Matt not just cuts hair you can tell it's an art with what he delivers. We honestly were beyond happy leaving and now even have a repeat customer or two!! So many good things about this place!! 1. It's really personal you get to engage and get to know the owner personally and know his story. 2. Support a small business owner and his family 3. Be part of a community by getting a service in your neighborhood 4. Friendly 5. Use all precautions against Covid- in fact goes over beyond sanitizing after each customer. 6. Entertainment w/ large tv 7. Professional and highly skilled 8. Clean 9. Parking lot w/plenty of parking 10. Nice vibe Thanks Matt for your hard work and opening your shop so close to home‼ read more

This place is hella close and is a gem. Matt was hella cool to speak with and reached out when he had an opening. There was good conversation and a chill vibe. Some of the barbershops feel hella clique-y, but this place wasn't. It feels like everyone seemed to bounce off each other. Good place, pricing is good, and they know what they're doing. read more

My man Boston got his own shop! If you know Boston then you know he is a cool dude. He takes care of his clients as if they are family. His shop is located in Hayward right before the railroad tracks. If you don't know those details you will pass it up. The new shop is cool large tv on the wall and comfortable chairs. It's very intimate since most of the clients make appointments. So if you're looking for a new spot to get cleaned up definitely check this dude out. Clean shop with clean cuts! read more

My previous barber retired and I needed to find another (she'd cut my hair for almost 2 decades...). I needed to find someone relatively close, and Boston hair came up. All those 5 star reviews? Really? Uh, YEAH! As another poster said, appointments are recommended, but since I didn't know anyone at the shop I decided to stop in. On a Saturday. One guy, Robbie, was the only one who had any free time in the afternoon, so I came back before the designated time and was seated after his customer was finishing up. I told Robbie what I was used to in the way of haircuts, he made suggestions, and went to work. He took care in producing a very nice coif and even did some extra for free (which I gave him as a tip). Got home and my wife really liked the haircut! And, days later it still looks good! Looks like I have a new barber! Thanks, Robbie! read more

Been getting cut by Schys since 2014 but I know all of the barbers in there are kept in high regard. Undercuts, parts, fades, combovers- he can pretty much do it all. Great people. Laughs a plenty. Reservations recommended. They also do shaves but I can't grow a beard lol. No opinion there. read more

I needed a beard trim before a very busy, important weekend but, as I usually do, I waited until Friday morning to try to figure it all out. It's so hard to find a good beard trim around here but I found Boston Barber on here and figured I'd give it a shot. I called and talked to Matt and asked if he could squeeze me in last minute, he said he could. Let me tell you: Matt is hella cool and he's great at what he does. He's a nice guy, very friendly, great conversation and he made me feel welcome. We talked like we've known each other for a long time. He treated my beard with respect and great attention too. He did exactly what I asked him for and had me looking just right for my daughter's baptism. This is a little spot but it's got a big heart and soul. There aren't too many places like this anymore; I'll definitely be back. read more

Don't come here, if you want to be stood up by the barber that scheduled your appt! That's right, the barber ((Robbie) stood up.the customer, the area is a bit iffy too. I.was asked to wait in my car for my appt, in which the barber did not even show up for; unprofessional and was a waste of time my time, and the location was not.in best location. read more

I've been shaving my head for almost 20 years now I've not been able to enjoy a proper barber shop experience. However, over the last few months, I started growing out my beard and found a reason to find a barber shop and so here I am. I stumbled upon the guys at the Boston Barber Co and was able to schedule a couple of beard trims. Matt is the owner - cool cat, down to earth, keep the jams playing - or some cool cooking shows on YouTube. There's another barber there too that's chill. And then there's my guy, Schys! He's cool as hell, good conversation, and is a real pro who takes pride in his craft and attention to detail. The shop has as great vibe and there's some good banter and a little trash talk between the barbers. It almost makes me want to go in on a day I don't even have a trim scheduled - LOL! These are some good folks doing some solid work. I highly recommend these gents. I've seen them square away some proper haircuts and I've enjoyed my beard trims. Thanks for making me feel welcome, fellas! read more
