Irritated my dogs eye with soap so bad it was shut for 4 days, as confirmed by the vet next door!

I can't believe this is the first review written about the Grooming Room. I won't say that my dog LOVES this place, but he doesn't mind it (which is a really big deal for him). He's a geriatric pug and he's always been terrified of the groomers. Every time we used to get him back from other groomers, he always seemed lame and sore for the next week; like he was fighting them or overly tense the whole time that he was there. That has never happened at the Grooming Room. Now I wonder what was going on at the other groomers for him to act the way that he did. It might seem dumb to take a pug to the groomers, but he hates having his face and feet touched and he knows I'll just give up if he resists even a little. His folds need to be kept clean to avoid infection, his claws grow so fast that he sounds like Velcro walking across the carpet, he sheds so much that we have to clean our house with a shopvac once a week and I won't even mention the issues with the anal sacs; it's just easier to take him to a groomers every six weeks or so. Every time we get him back, he's so fluffy and pretty smelling and he actually seems like he feels goods. His fur doesn't come out in big tufts all over the place; they make sure to get all the loose fur off of him before they hand him over to us. The best thing is that he's DRY. Most other groomers that we've been to don't bother to dry him completely so his undercoat is still damp and it makes a huge difference. The prices are definitely right. I looked for a price list online, but I couldn't find one. It's usually around $30 for a bath and a nail trim. We drop him off in the morning (I think before 10:00 and they call us in the afternoon to come pick him up). I stopped in today for a quick nail trim; I didn't need an appointment and it took about 10 minutes. Oh, and they have a shop with a really good assortment of pet treats, bones and toys so you can pick them up a little something to help ease your guilt. I definitely recommend it... read more

I took my 8 year old collie here about two weeks ago and I asked to have her shaved and given a bath with oatmeal shampoo (which I paid extra for and that was fine) but when I came to get her they had charged me an extra $20 than what it always was.. when I asked why the front desk lady said it was due to an"change in ownership" which I was never informed of.. But that's not even the reason I am writing this review. I am bc as soon as I got home my dog started itching like CRAZY!! she has been shaved before (at another place) and didn't itch like that. She has also used the "oatmeal" shampoo before and didn't itch either. I had to call her vet and give her two Benadryl... she still didn't stop itching until I bathed her in apple cider vinegar. I called the grooming room to find out what exactly the brand was they used on her, they didn't answer so I left a message and my this time I am LIVID bc I paid $100 for my dog to be itching like crazy. They NEVER called me back and I will NEVER be back! read more

I hate to "pile on," with other negative reviews, but...we took our Labradoodle (mutt) there for a few years. I don't like places where our beloved pet is taken to "the back," which clients never see or tour, but they did a nice job and it was close to home. I was not happy when they ordered a food for me because I liked their price, then when it came in, I was told it was $5 more. I never shopped there again. The last time we took our dog there for grooming, when we stepped into the shop, her entire body started trembling. We had her 13 years and this never happened anywhere before or since. I brought my dog in for a routine nail trimming last week. I have brought him here before with no issues but this time was different. Seconds after taking him back he starting YELPING/SCREECHING louder than I have ever heard him. It sounded horrific. I politely asked the lady in the front to bring my dog out because it made me uncomfortable and she REFUSED. I asked again and she refused. They finally brought my dog out and he was obviously shaken up. He is a very gentle/docile beagle. Checked his nails and saw they nearly cut his dew claw off. The NASTY RUDE lady at the front would not even make eye contact with me let alone BRING MY DOG OUT WHEN I ASKED. The guy that trimmed his nails looked creepy and disgusting. The bitch who works the front counter is useless. Do not bring your dog here. Will never use them again! You have been warned. read more

This place had been recommended by a friend with 2 shih tzu's. My 3 dogs are all about the same size but a little older. I had high hopes even after dropping off Molly. Molly is mostly poodle with a little Schnauzer, and just shivers like crazy from fear... I needed help. I won't ask these folks again. Drop off was pleasant, welcoming enough. Got my call mid-afternoon. Picked up Molly and quickly headed home. As soon as we got there I let all 3 out the back to run and P##. Molly was first back which was a surprise, and then I noticed bloody tracks on the deck. Took awhile to get that stopped, then looked her over a bit more closely. Two paws were bleeding, quite a bit! It took me dipping her entire paws into corn starch and holding it there to eventually get the bleeding stopped. I was wondering if something other than nails/quick were bleeding... My wood floors were a mess for a few days. Her ears, about a 2 inch difference in length. Her coat, mostly ok, but a few scraggles here and there. I expected better from a pro. And back to her nails, lot of different lengths, a couple of them are long enough to stick out of the trimmed fur on her paws. I would have posted pictures, but didn't see the option... read more

ZERO STARS! I had my mini goldendoodle groomed here instead of my normal place, because it was near my house.... BIG MISTAKE! They made me pay before they brought my dog out from the back, which i gladly did... not expecting the huge dissapointment that lie ahead. When they brought her out i noticed something wrong with her eye. When i asked about it, the lady said my dog was stressed, which caused her to burst a blood vessel. My dog is NEVER that nervous... Goldendoodles in general are extremely calm natured dogs. Did they really think i would believe this BS? Its very telling of how they view their customers intellects! Anyhow, i took my dog to the vet next door, who told me her eye was irritated by the soap they used. They payed my vet bill, but that was a very small price to pay. Its been 5 hours now since i picked her up, and her eye is completely shut! If you love your dog DO NOT COME HERE!!! I own a small business myself, so I do not say this lightly, but THIS PLACE NEEDS SHUT DOWN!!! read more

I have taken my dog there a few times now.....they have done a fairly good job until last time.....they cut my dog's ear while clipping....and didn't bother to tell me.....so after a couple days he developed an abscess......so now I have large vet bills and a sick dog....NEVER GOING BACK!!!! read more

I took a chance and tried this grooming salon don't two huskies. I had to take them back because they were still shedding like crazy. I called to say something and was told the owner would call me back. Well he finally did call me back. He said that my dogs would continue to shed like this until July. I called other places and was told that was incorrect. I will NEVER go back again. Complete waste of my money. read more

Took my two dogs in for a groom and paid for the extra deshedding / furminator brushing treatment. The one dog came back full of loose hair that was never brushed out (as in large, easy to remove tuffs) and the other dog's ears look like they got wet but were never cleaned (plenty of dark colored wax visible in her ears). I contacted my old groomer (45 minutes away now that we have moved) and made an appointment immediately after picking the dogs up. A quality grooming and deshedding is well worth the 1 1/2 hr round trip drive if you have a breed that sheds a lot. read more

On June 13th we took our dog in for grooming. They did a great job the last time and we expected nothing less this time.However, after getting the dog home we noticed that her left eye was red and swollen.A vet exam and almost $200 later we found out that the injury was most likely caused by blunt force trauma ! Since the dog was with us the entire time after leaving the Grooming Room , we can only conclude that the injury occurred there.We will not be using their services again !!! read more

I love The Grooming Room and the staff -- and Quigley. My standard poodle, Mandy, is a shy girl. She knows where we are when we pull up. She walks right in and willingly goes with the staff. She loves seeing Quigley -- although she may be a breed snob. I appreciate how kind the staff is with her. Their customer service is exceptional. Their products in the store are those of integrity, and thanks to the staff, I finally found a nutritious food line that my picky poodle will eat. Mandy looks beautiful when I pick her up. She's happy. She's never nervous or upset. The prices are excellent. We're a five year customer and wouldn't go any where else. read more

The Grooming Room for Pets is the worst place I've ever taken my yorkie to get groomed EVER! I would highly recommend never going there. I took my yorkie to get groomed and showed them her dewclaws on her back feet before sending her off to get groomed, they made a note of them for caution with the groomer and low and behold they end up chopping it off by "ACCIDENT" with the trimmers while grooming her. This is after I pointed them out and they even made the note to show the groomer! That's not the worst part, they call me to tell me she's ready and tell me that they made a boo boo while grooming her, they go on to explain that they and i quote "nicked" her dewclaw. So I return to pick her up and find out that they did not "nick" her poor dewclaw they chopped the whole thing off while grooming her and tried to downplay the whole ordeal. When I looked at her foot and brought this to their attention they said they had NOOOO idea that it was gone. Really no idea yeah right. In order for a groomer to chop off a dewclaw while trimming they must have been grooming my poor baby really carelessly and in a hurry! After taking my poor terrified dog home I noticed she had nicks everywhere and they nicked one of her nipples so bad that she had blood all over her belly, now she has a scar from it! This place is a poor grooming facility with rude and unattentive staff PLEASE STAY AWAY FOR YOUR PETS SAKE!!! read more
