It is a small traditional pub which has a limited amount of seating. The landlady/landlord are very friendly and very professional. Above the pub is a restaurant called the Grillroom. I have never eaten in the restaurant although I have intended to on a couple of occasions. The restaurant is closed on Monday's. I understand from friends that the restaurant is very good. My wife and I have been coming here for nearly three years now and the food is still the best around. Sometimes you may have to wait due to everything being cooked fresh to order but it is well worth the wait. Look out for the specials board which has some of the unusual dishes not normally seen in other restaurants.

Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

Said I wanted a pint of a lightish bitter, he served me Harvest Pale (3.8%abv), it was excellent, good taste for such a light bitter, though when I had sat down I spotted an Adnams pump, and old favourite of mine, indeed I have just driven from East Suffolk where its brewed in Southwold. Their light bitter is 3.7%abv. Nice menu of pub food, then he pointed out special today was Liver and bacon. The large portion came with excellent mash, loads of gravy, peas and onions and was absolutely delicious. The jovial Landlord was good for a bit of a natter, and despite there not being too many people in , there was a nice atmosphere, one of the reasons I used to patronise it in my youth, and it only cost me £8.75 What a lovely experience to go back there

It's great to sit outside in the summer and watch a game of cricket, get house envy or watch the cows eating the grass. There is a campsite out back as well and the field is also used for other events such as Old Car Rallies. Inside there is a restaurant area to the left and a lounge area to the right with an unusual vaulted ceiling. Food is good value and down to earth with light bites around £7.00 (these are just enough for a decent meal with dessert - the bigger dishes are huge!!!) I always enjoy trying out the guest ales which are described on a board near the bar. All in all it's a great place for a summer afternoon's drinking or a relaxing meal which everyone in the family will enjoy.

Smart, clean, modern and 'European' in decor, it was reassuringly busy, early evening, even though mid-week. Friendly staff, we only had wines and coffees, but both were well up to spec. The Olive Lounge tickked all our boxes, and I will happily use it more in the future.
